Roy ventured deep inside the Temple of Seals. Apparently, there was something else hidden there other than the Binding Blade.

However, Pereth, one of Murdock’s best lieutenants, was already inside the temple and waiting to ambush Roy.

Opening Cutscene

Pereth:
“So the battle above the ground was lost…”

Soldier:
“Yes.”

Pereth:
“I would have liked to be at Lord Murdock’s side when he fell.”

Soldier:
“…We share your feelings.”

Pereth:
“However, we have an important mission from Lord Murdock. We must defend this Divine Weapon. The Silencing Darkness, Apocalypse, must not fall into the enemy’s hands!”

(Scene switches to Roy)

(If Miredy is in your attack team)

Roy:
“There’s a Divine Weapon under here?”

Miredy:
“Yes, I believe so. I have only heard rumors within the army, but apparently there is a spell book here that was placed to protect the Temple of Seals from intruders.”

Elphin:
“This place is guarded by Bern’s troops as well. It is highly probable that the spell book that she speaks of is a Divine Weapon.”

Roy:
“Yes. We’re going up against Zephiel soon. …I want to have as many weapons as possible ready before we enter the castle. We have to get that book.”

Miredy:
“I have also heard rumors that there are traps all over the underground level.”

Roy:
“Traps?”

Miredy:
“Yes. Apparently, they are crafted so well that we have no chance of finding them before they go off. Perhaps Thieves would be better at spotting the traps… Anyway, please be careful.”

Roy:
“All right. Let’s be wary.”

Roy:
“Princess Guinevere, is this where the Divine Weapon is?”

Guinevere:
“Probably… I have only heard rumors that there is a spell book here that was placed to protect the Temple of Seals from intruders.”

Elphin:

Roy:

“Darkness from an age long forgotten… I will show you its power.”

“Dark… It is getting so…dark…”

After Beating the Map

Roy:
“Elphin, do you know what this spell book is?”

Elphin:
“…It is probably the Apocalypse spell book.”

Roy:
“Apocalypse?”

Elphin:
“Yes, it is also known as the Silencing Darkness. Brammimond… the most mysterious of the Eight Heroes…used it.”

Roy:
“Brammimond… I only know his name.”

Elphin:
“We don’t even know if Brammimond was male or female, old or young. None of the ancient scrolls say anything specific about Brammimond.”

Roy:

Elphin:
“……”

(Guinevere appears)

Roy:

Guinevere:
“…Perhaps it is to warn people that their power is too great to be dealt with lightly.”

Roy:

Elphin:

Roy:

(Obtained Apocalypse)

(Scene switches to outside)

Elphin:
“Master Roy. This sword stuck in the altar…”

Roy:
“This must be the Binding Blade.”

Merlinus:
“Let’s see… …I can’t seem to draw it from the stone.”

Roy:
“It’s sealed. You have to use the Fire Emblem.”

Merlinus:
“Use it? How?”

Roy:
“Princess Guinevere said that you just have to stick it into the opening in the handle…”

(Screen flashes)

Roy:
“Whoa! What the…”

Merlinus:
“The blade is glowing!”

Roy:
“Now I should be able to draw it… …!”

(Screen flashes. Background changes)

Roy:
“…What…is this…? This is the Binding Blade’s… No, Hartmut’s… Memories…?”

(A girl appears, and then disappears)

Roy:
“Who was that? What is this feeling… It’s very…”

(Screen flashes. Background returns to normal)

Merlinus:
“Master Roy? Are you all right?”

Roy:
“Yeah… I’m fine. So this is Hartmut’s sword, the Binding Blade… Am I allowed to use it…?”

Elphin:
“It has been said for centuries that the best swords choose their owners. The sword is in your hands now. You were chosen by it.”

Roy:
“But it’s only coincidence that I’m holding it…”

Elphin:
“What we may think of as being coincidental… Even that might be part of our fate.”

Roy:

Merlinus:
“Anyway, now that we have the Binding Blade, all we need to do is head for the castle. We must hurry!”

Roy:
“…Right! We have to defeat Zephiel!”
