Foxxie
My friend and I are planning on doing simultaneous playthroughs of SS, and we both want some sort of theme to our runs. We did some research, but are really looking for some (perhaps) off the beaten path variants. Here's what we discovered so far: Girls Only Mounted Only (Certain Weapon) Only Royals (with or without royal by marriage clause) Chess (twins as king/queen, paladins/great knights for knights, magic users for bishops, fliers for rooks, trainees as pawns) (Region) Only I'm leaning towards a royals run, but I feel like there's gotta be something really creatibe out there. We had been joking about a headgear run or something equally silly, but hey, that's why I came here to ask.
eclipse
1. Split the roster! Even with half a team, SS is plenty beatable! 2. Support chain run - everyone must end with 4-5 supports total. This makes Knoll nearly impossible to use, though. 3. Hair color run - aside from Eir/Eph, each of you chooses a different color, and use units with ONLY that hair color. Red is considered high-level cheating. 4. Use all the guys that appeared in Awakening's Spotpass.
Jedi
Could always go for an affinity run, play fe7 for a few seconds, and figure out your birth month affinity, and you can only use characters who share your affinity in any of the other games (Such as Sacred Stones) with affinity. Refa
Low Level Run or bust (deploy your lowest leveled characters for every map, no grinding allowed).
Irony
Blindfold Run Blindfold yourself when you are preparing every single map- randomly pick units and place them on the map randomly. Have fun! :D
Tequila
2. Support chain run - everyone must end with 4-5 supports total. This makes Knoll nearly impossible to use, though. I actually did a run like this, trying to optimize supports. Here's what I ended up with: Squares (4 characters, 1-(A)-2-(B)-3-(A)-4-(B)-1. Each person here has 5 supports): Eirika-Seth-Franz-Forde Cormag-Duessel-Knoll-Natasha Saleh-Ewan-Dozla-Myrrh Ross-Garcia-Neimi-Amelia Vanessa-Syrene-Gilliam-Moulder Rennac-Tethys-Marisa-Colm L'Arachel-Joshua-Gerik-Innes And that leaves 5 characters: Artur -A- Lute -B- Kyle -B- Ephraim -A- Tana 30 characters with 5 supports, 1 character with 4, and 2 with 3. I'm curious to see whether anyone can come up with anything better.
Lady Sansa
I'm curious to see whether anyone can come up with anything better. Amelia x Duessel x Knoll x Lute x Kyle x Forde x Vanessa x Moulder x Syrene x Gilliam x Franz x Natasha x Joshua x Innes x Eirika x Seth x Garcia x Neimi x Colm x Rennac x Dozla x L'Arachel x Ephraim x Myrrh x Saleh x Ewan x Tethys x Artur x Cormag x Tana x Marisa x Gerik x Ross x Amelia As and Bs are interchangeable, though one unit won't be able to get an A since there are an uneven number of units. Saint Rubenio
The old men. Moulder, Duessel, Garcia, Gilliam, Dozla, Saleh (these aren't so old, but Duessel and Moulder solo would be a bit extreme). You get a healer, a spellcaster (although Moulder'd probably be better than him if you made him Sage), and three physical attackers who can ammount for the 4 weapon types, if you promote Garcia to warrior. Unarmed Seth should carry Eirika/Ephraim, and he should always stay in the back of the formation, cause using him as a distraction'd be cheating. Otherwise, he's out, unless you hack the game and give him FE1 Jeigan's stats or something. Then he'd technically be an old man.
Katie
There's also guys only, which for obvious reasons is easier than girls only due to there being more males than females, but I did see someone do a more restrictive run where only guys with facial hair could be used. There's also no mounted runs, which is the opposite of a mounted only run. There are a variety of runs you could come up with, and many of them are applicable to more than one game. Ironthunder
See, one of my favorite ones to watch is a no-mage run, where you can't use mages or healers. Gives you a reason to stockpile them Vulneraries...
Orblet
Blindfold Run Blindfold yourself when you are preparing every single map- randomly pick units and place them on the map randomly. Have fun! :D Now I just feel the need to see how far I can get into one of the games by blind folding my self for the entire game Edited May 23, 2016 by Orblet
Shanty Pete's 1st Mate
I've played two weapon-limitation styles! Iron-only run - basically, using only Iron, or other E-rank, weapons. I did this in Shadow Dragon a while back. I think I cheated by forging them, though. One-handed run - every unit goes into battle with a single weapon. This is my most recent run of Path of Radiance. As far as other styles of play go? Well... Ponytail emblem! Related to hair color or head gear, but this time, you're using units who work that updo. I think Vanessa, Colm, Franz, Tana, Tethys, Marisa, and L'Arachel all qualify. Determine character eligibility based purely on name! 3-syllable emblem nets you Eirika, Ephraim, and Garcia, while only-one-vowel emblem stars Franz, Ross, and Seth. Um... Exposed shoulder emblem? Lute, Marisa, Gerik, Neimi, Tethys, Garcia, and L'Arachel are not only treats for the eyes, but also dire threats on the battlefield! PeaceRibbon
I've recently had the idea for an alphabetized run, where you pick a letter of the alphabet, and from there only use characters that have that letter appear somewhere in their name. For example, if you pick the letter K, your team would be , Kyle, , and . As you can see, difficulty may vary based on letter and game. Holy crap I found an excuse to use the emojis!
