How about FE7if: http://www.uploadable.ch/file/ACDETeQcA9Dg

and

MK404's version of Fire Emblem: http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=8617

Both are great, just that FE7if is in Japanese.

ew no FE7if.....FE7 CHAOS MODE BETTER.

Reasons: FE7if is just japanese version with stat inflation.

FE7 Chaos Mode: Reskin but with much deeper changes causing you to think and plan carefully, rather than just hope for the best. That and you have to deal with Klok's trolling.

Might as well give my thoughts on the aforementioned hacks.

Chaos Mode: Play this if you're looking for something deep, challenging, and rewarding (apparently; I haven't had the encouragement to go further than Chapter 15.). Makes the most changes from vanilla. Also, bow lord. Neato.

FE7if: Don't play on Hard mode. Normal mode is fine. Play if you're interested in stuff that, while plagiarized (specifically, the custom portraits are edits of portraits by unaffiliated hackers), is still a decent challenge that while frustrating never seems too unfair because your characters are already powerful, especially the new ones (unless it's Hard mode, but hey, I told you not to do that). Also, characters swap places. Neato. If you want to play this one, find a Japanese ROM.

MK404: It's the wacky misadventures of a young Raymond, his waifu, and Eliwood is there too for some reason. Only play if you're looking for some mindless fun. Because hey, you can make a game of spotting who replaces who and who's a newbie. Also, playable Brigand. Neato.

As for Sacred Stones...

There's Fire Emblem Girls, which while hard to find, and glitchy in the cutscene department (you're gonna have to rapidly press the Start button to even get through the game; it's that bad), still provides an insane, but interesting challenge and makes everyone a girl for some reason. There are new maps, too.

Also, Will of Good and Evil, also known as ChinaFE. Most, but not all playable characters are girls, and you get plenty of pre-promotes. They're all good, though. It's an old one, but a great one. It doesn't have custom maps from what I've seen, though.

Finally, there's the more recent Midori patch. It changes all playable characters into different ones in the series with a green pallet. It also has custom maps. Again, a decent hack.

Note that all of the Sacred Stones hacks are in Japanese (well, Chinese for the second, but the rules still apply), so you'll need a Japanese ROM for those.

FE7if has new music, animations, classes, weapons, etc. It's a remodeling hack, not only an inflation hack. There is an FE6 and FE7 inflation hack, separate from FE7if, if you were mistaking that.

I read a little about this choas mod. I really like all of it except class randomization. :(

I am kinda lore freak. :C

But I am glad Klokiator came out with chaos mod. It is really impressive. :)

Thank you guys for sharing info on those mods. :)

Chaos mode wouldn't be the same without randomization. You should give it a try, I put 9 months into it... and there's a big update coming real soon now that Mr. Night and L95 finished all the animations and map sprites for me.

Confirmed christmas update mother fuckers

FE7 Chaos Mode has all of that, except for the music (animations in future patch). I still think FE7 Chaos Mode did it better in terms of difficulty.

if the OP wishes a game that stays true to an FE that is still a tad difficult, 7if is the way to go. I do acknowledge the work behind chaos mode. It is well made and will be even better once the update is released. However since it is based on randomization, it may not sit well with veteran FE players. There are certain paradigms we are used to such as certain classes possessing certain stats(myrms having spd and shit str, ect). Chaos mode is refreshing as it offers an alternative take, but 7if retains the core FE elements and enhances the experiences with new music and animations. The problem with 7if is that most of the sprite work is stolen, so it often looked down upon.

I am at awe both positively and negatively Klokinator with changes you introduced into Fire Emblem Blazing Sword.

Regardless how I feel toward Chaos Mode I want to thank you for work you done. :)

Turns out I am too big lore fanboy and Chaos Mode although it really cuts right into what I am looking for its delivery and design are not meant for lore fanboys like me.
Anyone knows other ROM hacks for FE7? This FE7if sounds good but it is in Japanese....

Like I said, I personally enjoyed FE7if. It's difficult, but rarely unfair (Save for maybe a few lategame bosses, but they're MANAGEABLE. Also, the weapon prices.). Plus, it's probably best that some changes aren't understood (a certain character in Erik's chapter, for example). Still... I'll just say that Random isn't the only one who hates it and leave it at that. It's not for everyone.

Fire Emblem isn't too difficult to play in any language, if you've already played the original and could understand it. Most commands are in the same place and same order. New content might be difficult to understand, but some hacks come with useful readmes that detail new content, and google translate can help. There's also a wiki/webpage for FE7if with lots of info that you can reference.

If you're in hacks strictly for the story, I can see it being a problem :/
