I know it's been a while, but boy I've been out of it. With school and three big projects of mine, I just haven't felt like doing this. But here we go:

Shinon

Summary:

Shinon is a member of the Greil Mercenaries and a close friend to fellow-mercenary Gatrie. His skill with a bow is matched by no one. For some reason, he thinks very little of Ike.

Bio:

PoR:

When Mist and Rolf were kidnapped by bandits, the mercenary commander, Greil, took Shinon to rescue the two children. The archer's deadly skill with a bow ended up saving not only Mist and Rolf, but Ike as well when the son of Greil attempted his own rescue. Shinon made his presence known that day by shooting one man in between the eyes, a shot easily recognized by the members of the company.

As the armies of Daein pushed Crimea into war, a decision was made to escort the recently-discovered Princess of Crimea, Elincia, south into the laguz country of Gallia; a decision Shinon did not care for. He expressed his dislike of traveling into a country of laguz or "sub-humans" as he prefered to call them, although he did not dare disobey his commander. While in Gallia, Shinon experienced a change of heart towards the company following the death of Commander Greil. Along with Gatrie, the archer abandoned the mercenaries when Ike took charge. His low view towards Ike was likely a large contribution for his dissertion.

Chance later thrust Ike and Shinon back into each other's lives. They met again shortly after Ike was named leader of the Crimean Liberation Army, this time not as comrades but enemies. Shinon found employment in the ranks of the Daein army. At the outpost at Tor Garen, the two former-allies faced each other It is certain, though most believe after speaking with Rolf, whom he had secretly trained with a bow, Shinon returned to the mercenary troop. Others say he was killed as an enemy.

During the march north through Daein and then west into Crimea, Ike learned that Shinon held his father in high regard when the archer, quite drunk at the moment, all but demanded Ike change the name of the company, believing he was nowhere near the man his father had been.

After the final victory at Crimea Castle, Shinon returned to the fort with the other mercenaries. He made sure to let Ike know what he thought of him before the company departed.

RD:

During the execution of Crimea's Lady Lucia, an arrow was shot from a nearby tree; an arrow that cut the rope that almost killed the lady. It was Shinon's arrow. While the rest of the company engaged the rebel soliders below, Shinon and Rolf aided them from their hiding place with arrow after arrow.

Despite his feelings against the laguz, Shinon fought alongside them when Ike accepted the offer of the Laguz Alliance. Across the continent, the bowman's deadly aim helped win battle after battle. He continued to fight even against the forces of goddess Ashera herself.

After Ashera's defeat, Shinon chose to spend his days at his old haunts. He never chose any particular craft as his calling, though he was an expert at all he put his hand to.

Ok, maybe it's not the best, but it's my first day back at it.

Chance later thrusted(?) Ike and Shinon back into each other's lives. They met again shortly after Ike was named leader of the Crimean Liberation Army, this time not as comrades but enemies. Shinon found employment in the ranks of the Daein army. At the outpost at Tor Garen, the two former-allies faced each other. It is certain, though most believe after speaking with Rolf, whom he had secretly trained with a bow, Shinon returned to the mercenary troop. (This sentence just seems to be worded quite confusingly.) Others say he was killed as an enemy.

RD:

During the execution of Crimea's Lady Lucia, an arrow was shot from a nearby tree; an arrow that cut the rope (maybe add "in which Lucia was hanging from" in case it's not clear what the rope is) and almost killed the lady. (I wouldn't really say "almost killed the lady" though, since Shinon is skilled and he seemed to have good control when he was shooting. Rather, Rolf might've almost killed Lucia...) It was Shinon's arrow.

Shinon made his presence known that day by shooting (one of the bandits) in between the eyes

Before, it didn't seem too clear who Shinon was shooting at.

Shinon found employment in the ranks of the Daein army.

This sentence seems a little strangely short. Is there anything about Shinon's thoughts of working with Daein that you could add?

It is (un)certain...

Actually, I think it's a bit odd describing the two possibilities in this manner. It might be a better idea to go with canon, which is that Shinon was recruited and survived. Since he appeared in RD later.

Also, right afterwards in the article, you mention Shinon's activities after the Tor Garren event, which is a bit odd if people aren't completely sure about his fate. Hope that made sense.

Shinon and Rolf aided them from their hiding place (, firing) arrow after arrow.

Not too sure if the suggestion makes sense, but it's just to make it a bit clearer as to what they're doing. Although it might already be obvious.

Otherwise, it looks great ^^

Are there any base conversations you can reference from either game? Just out of curiousity (since I don't know too much about FE10's dialogue). I know the drunk conversation was probably from a FE9 base conversation.

Sorry, it's taking me so long to work on this. School's sapping my drive to do anything really.

I'll work on the article with both your suggestions in a minute.

I'll probably have to review a few base conversations from FE10. (I forgot I could) FE9 is a little tougher since it doesn't have that feature.

Ok, finally I get back into the game.

That might be helpful to me, Vincent. Thanks. I don't know which ones I'd be looking for though. I don't remember if he actually said anything about working for Daein. He probably didn't care anyway.
