IceBrand
Does anything change if you let him live? Edited March 6, 2016 by Majestic Paladin
KYZ123
Nope.
VincentASM
I haven't checked the script or anything, but I didn't notice any changes. It's just about doable if you place your units properly to slow down Hans and you can tank the archers.

Emblem Blade
No difference, his (Hans') dialogue upon defeat in any difficulty is the same as he just retreats. I unintentionally let him survive on my Hard/Casual run (Hoshido Route) since I had little time to worry about the Samurai and Hans was trying to kill the one I had left (I defeated the first one) behind which was attacking me (I eventually had Gunter poach that Samurai for picking on me when I got to the Dragon Vein on the bottom of the screen). In the end, Hans had basically followed me to the destination of the Chapter which ended in success (no thanks to Hans who survived and wasn't defeated). Emblem Blade
Never really attempted it because I dislike him lol. I never really did like Hans, he makes a decently fine meat shield (while he's not defeated) in Chapter 3.
ChaosGallade
Hans wasn't helpful in the slightest. I just let the archers and samurai get rid of him. Edited March 6, 2016 by ChaosGallade
Abysswalker25
When I saw Hans rushing the small fort I thought to myself "LEEROOOOOOOOOOOOY JEEEEEENKINNSSS"

Roflolxp54
Just let him die -- otherwise, he'll eat up all the exp!
Emblem Blade
Just let him die -- otherwise, he'll eat up all the exp! Hans usually 'dies' whenever he attempts to attack the upper right fort.
Kholdstare
Hans is kind of a meany face, so yeah, I didn't save him. Plus, If I knew beforehand what he would do in birthright, I would've restarted the chapter over and over again just to see him die (fail) repeatedly. Revenge is never sweeter for 'killing' the brute in Conquest (everyone in the Nohr Royal Family bar the false Garon decides and agrees that the guy needs to die and Camille and Elise make that statement even funnier). It was toned down in Birthright slightly but it had a cause.
