A question of the day is An, One, Question, asked per day. Which you, good (?) people of this forum, shall answer to the best of your ability. The last one was a massive hit so yeah, let's keep this shit going!

The question of today, 13/03/2014, is; what sports teams do you support, and why.

I will open a new one tomorrow. For now, the new topic is what sports teams do you support, and why? 'I live there' is a good enough reason. ''cos they win trophies' is not.

5. You are caught in a situation where you are driving a runaway train and are unable to stop it in any way. In its path are five people that will not be able to get away in time and will die. However, before hitting them you can go down a path and kill a single person who also would not be able to get away and time and will die. Would you choose to turn and kill the one or just stay the course and kill five? Why? (Page 7)
6. Like the previous scenario, there is a runaway train about to run over and kill five people on the tracks, which this time is a single straight track with no alternative paths. However, you are no longer the driver of the train and there is absolutely no way to stop it internally or externally, save one... As an onlooker, you see another individual who, due to any sort of reason you can think of that would make it possible for that individual's body (AND NOT YOURS, SO NO SACRIFICING YOUR BODY TO SAVE THE FIVE) to block the train and stop it just enough to save the five people. By pushing that person onto the track (or whatever method, since it doesn't matter as long as the person ends up on the tracks), they will most certainly die but will save the five. Let's see.

None very much at all; anything that I do "support" is a very minor sort of support.

I was a fan of the San Jose Earthquakes (football (soccer)) when I was a kid, but I've fallen off there - cause I lived in the city.

Oakland A's (baseball), but also fallen off there. This is for a petty reason: Not Liking the team that most people from my area support.

Mostly though I don't keep up with sports much.

Sydney FC are basically really funny from a neutral perspective because they are just such wannabes and they have all the money and yet manage to be really shit, apart from occasionally signing really good players who are thousands of years old such as del Piero currently. With a combination of a 42-year old del Piero and our other good players such as we are launching a shaky bid for the top half

My main love though is Sunderland - the English leagues just get so much more coverage, and, well, Sydney FC has only been a thing since 2006 (I wish I'd ever seen APIA Leichhardt while I lived in the area, but that time has passed). They're a lower midtable Premiership side who I reckon have a great chance of avoiding relegation this year - and managed to come second in the League Cup, which was nice. Sunderland in general isn't particularly well-run or noteworthy and most people who don't support it or its rivals, Newcastle and Middlesborough, tend to find it fairly forgettable except for that time when our manager was a literal fascist. But it's the team I support, with no reason behind it besides that I just took that instinctive like to it.

As far as baseball goes I have a like for the Phillies after they were the Not Yankees in the first World Series (and really, first pro baseball) I'd ever seen. But I wouldn't say I have any massive support for any team over another in the MLB, or any sport besides football.

Not a supporter of any sports teams or sports at all. The industry (already a pejorative word in my mind) is really dehumanising I find, exploiting lives and well-being of sportsmen for others' amusement and politics (the recent Olympics is a good example of one sick man's megalomania and uncontrolled ambitions). The immediate results require training and substance usage on participants' behalf that they may end up getting crippled before they come to any success. The few who ended up fulfilling their dreams have the resources to patch up their health for the remaining duration of their lives, but the rest are fucked. Glorification of disability (what is what it ends up being in practice when the curtains close) is hardly something I'd like to be part of, however masterful the performance may be.

Used to be a walking encyclopaedia of football when I was 8 or so (quite literally, having memorised several encyclopaedias on the subject), but interest slowly died down from there and now I don't really remember anything.

Every man's fitness is something I support heartily however, but not getting yourself hurt is still a topical problem.
