Looks good.

-Some sort of social link system lets you bring a support team member in the dungeon to perform japanese showbusiness inspired dual attacks.

-Weapon triangle (lol pyramid) has inspired the SMT team to include it in its weakness mechanics.

-I'm not one to dislike fanservice, but it could turn some people away from the game. They indeed do not shy away from it, with jiggly boobs, skimpy outfits, etc.

Persona is a major inspiration here, more specifically P3 and P4. I'm fine with that as Social Links are about the same thing as Supports. Shadows are mirages, Personas are Performas (or something?). Those Performas are Fire Emblem characters. I don't know if playable characters can switch between Performas, but there seems to be some sort of costume switching in the game, so it might mean you can.

Fake Marth/generic Lord (Itsuki Aoi) looks silly, and he's powered by the brooding Chrom Performa.

Anyway, I don't know if I like the whole Idol/showbiz angle the game has going, but I'm still interested in the combat. SMT is awesome and so is FE. I also really liked Devil Survivor 1/2 (director) and Radiant Historia (also director) (although less so).

I don't have a Wii U yet, but if the game gets censored in the West, I might import one for this game (and all the other games I missed).

Performa is the name of the potential to use Fire Emblem power, the names of the actual summons are Mirages.

I'm really glad this was in the Treehouse, I've been pretty apprehensive about this game based on the trailers but the Treehouse coverage solidified things a lot better. Lots of people see the trailer and think its some j-pop idol game like the hatsune miku games, but the treehouse showed all the rpg elements. The battling looks really good, I can't wait to pick this up!

Separate YouTube video:

The boss at 39:00 does look like Hard Gay... It's my dream come true (thought I'd rather he were in Fates because that's the one I'm able to play).

"Chrom's sword. That's actually Chrom's rapier that he usually starts out with in a lot of Fire Emblem games."

R.I.P my lungs gg Treehouse.

Slightly late, but here's my report.

I think there will be a dark side to some of this idol business, which they've hinted at.

In Chapter 2, I think you've got Tsubasa luring a passion photographer, which isn't something I've seen in video games.

Plus there's the business with her elder sister going missing and apparently being brainwashed.

Ahahahahaha. The female presenter was legitimately shocked and said "oh wow, what's happening" at 39:00 (in the video) when that Gangrel boss had his head fly off and spin around like a saucer.

This game is essentially Persona with a showbiz twist to it. I am not too keen on the blatant fan service, but at least it does try to take itself somewhat seriously.

I will most likely watch an LP of this game when it comes out to check out the story.

EDIT: Wow, they had a dance number during the boss battle. I am eager to see how this will be localized in America.

Nice, a lot of good information there.

I'm definitely a lot more excited for this game now after seeing the Treehouse gameplay, but at the same time I really have to wonder, what were they thinking when they showed that awful trailer off in the E3 digital event?

When they showed off the game in April there was a huge backlash due to the cultural divide, (and not being the gritty game people were expecting) and what do they do for the follow up trailer that will be showed to the entire world? Even more of the things people were complaining about in the first place with less gameplay than the first trailer.

I've seen a few people say they would wait for more information or wait until E3 to decide whether they would give this game a chance or not, but after that trailer a lot of people have gone back to calling it "weeaboo trash" or "too Japanese."

Well, even if a lot of people view this game a "joke" and it results in this game bombing in sales, I'm still going to enjoy it for what it is. (even though I hate idols)

Thanks for that analysis, Vincent. There were some things I missed, or couldn't read... like those chapter titles. I wonder, could the child mentioned in chapter 2's title be Tiki? Or is it referring to someone else?

And I wonder if those times are at all indicative of the game's length. I'm guessing they aren't, much like I expect the actual game to be harder, but still... I'm hopeful that we can expect this to be a 60+ hour game.

I can't believe Callie and Marie are confirmed for this game.

But yeah, the Treehouse footage really solidified that this game is right up my alley. It may not be the game any of us were expecting, but I personally love the direction. I'm a sucker for colorful and musical worlds.

On another note, does anyone else have Kiria's song stuck in their heads?

Re-in-carnation (o-oooh), re-a-lization (yeaaaah)~

As a guy who liked the Persona games, I am quite intrigued by how the game is shaped out to be. Sure, lots of fluffiness and cuteness and rainbows, but if that's their focus, that's fine. Hopefully they will have something of a cross between social links and support system.
