Were there any changes to FE3 that you actually liked?

Other than the improved gameplay, of course.

I'm basically just seeing everyone complain at how they tossed out some of the depth for animu stereotypes.

Er, you're talking about FE12?

Because FE13 is far more guilty of "animu stereotypes" than anything else.

Also, what do you mean by depth? FE3 didn't really have that much.

Generally liked the changes except no more dismount and the fact that the avatar and the assassins plot overrides the importance of Marth and Hardins struggles against each other for a good chunk of the game.

Also, what do you mean by depth? FE3 didn't really have that much.

Oops, I went just a little overboard with this post...

[spoiler=Some pros and cons]Pro-FE3 / Anti-FE12:

-FE12's lack of weapon weight blew my mind. There goes weapon strategy.

-Dismounting was a pretty fun feature, in my opinion.

-I liked FE3's hax Star Shards. Capped-def-Marich before promoting is amazing. Mage tank, GO! :D

-MU's sidestory dealies are too much of a distraction from the main story.

-Customizable character? Get out. I don't care if you are bland, stop stealing the spotlight.

-I hate FE11/12 character portraits. (Face sprites...? "Mugshots"?)

Pro-FE12 / Anti-FE3:

-The menu position of the "wait" command in FE3 is a GOD DAMNED PAIN IN THE ASS.

-FE12's support convos are nice for a little bonus character insight without going too overboard.

-Characters from FE1 that weren't in FE3 Book 2. And their inclusion doesn't drastically change the original story. I think?

Neither here nor there:

-I'm indifferent to reclassing.

-Bias says FE3's music is better overall. But FE12's music isn't "bad" by any means.

-FE3 is an old game, of course FE12 is more streamlined. So, not going to comment about how "pretty" the UI is nor how the game mechanics are "better/updated".

I kept saying "I want FE3 back T_T" while playing FE12.

But at the end of the day, I say both games are good. :3

i liked the additional difficulties and the downloadable content, and I'm a fan of reclass too, but some stuff like reviving Michalis just blew my mind. Like, why?

The prologue really irks me too, but this isn't a topic for stuff you don't like about fe12 so i'll stop there.

@Horace: Nah, IDC. Blow your top as violently as you like here. We all want to complain about the animu antics in the Prologue, no need to hold back.

I thoroughly enjoyed FE3. The assassin subplot and the shoehorning of MU into everything irked me in FE12, and the general feel of the game didn't sit well with me. But hey, that's me being RETRO.

Besides the whole this is MU and this is the new part of the remake with assassins and junk, no dismounting, making MU/subplot more important than Marth's quest, etc. all that was a real debby downer for me but it did like Shadow Dragon update some of the mechanics to make it easiear to use and adding base convo's? That was a good call. So in the end it does its job as a remake without changing too much. Like the original but I will give credit where credit is due and say that Hero's of Light and Shadow was a fun game.

Nah. I'm lenient with it because it's an old game. The only "complaint", or problem, is the wait command. The lack of character development is a bit of a downer, but oh well.

I dunno, maybe I had too much fun with it and am completely biased now. :v
