So... Tree crushed my car...

R.I.P Tree, you didn't deserve to hit such a hard surface (Joking)

Where I am right now, a bunch of trees fell, and landed in balconys, and concrete is sprawled all over the sidewalk.

It's probably because of the weather right now where I live.

I also live on the west coast of Canada.

That's really unfortunate. But I'm sure it will be alright. Well... Not the car. The car must be f*cked up. Edited by Yari Bryant

I saw you post about this in the sprite contest thread, so you already know everything I would've said here. It still sucks for your car though. :(

How did it happen, do you know? Was there a bad storm or something and the wind blew the tree down? That actually happened to us once, though the truck that the tree crushed wasn't ours, it was someone else's, and the idiot owner tried to sue my grandma because she owned the house we lived in (the tree fell in our yard as well as on the truck, our dog was outside at the time for some reason and was lucky to have not been crushed as well). Yet, the tree wasn't actually part of the property before it fell, it came from the woods next to us. >_> The guy still tried to sue anyway. But of course, he failed.

Car is pretty definitely gonna be a write off as its got frame damage... But interestingly enough no windows broke, not even where it got majorly caved in near the rear window. :o

Happened at my work during this huge windstorm that hit the West coast on Saturday. Power shut down in the store, then we saw this crazy wind outside.... Apparently 90km winds. I saw the tree fall with a co worker as we were trying to clear fallen tree limbs in the parking lot so people could drive out... We got the hell back inside and let people out the back entrance. If someone had been hit by one of those flying tree limbs though... :S

It wasn't till later I realized my car had been trapped. We saw the tree blocking the road, and heard that someone's car was crushed under it, I went to go take a look and realized...

Then I got to tell people tried coming up, "we are closed, it is not safe due to the winds and Trees, my car got crushed by a tree!" It is pretty surreal seeing people checking out your car under there, and taking pictures though. o_0

Thankfully at the moment, everything I have been told so far has me covered, got pics, got a witness statement. We've got one major insurance claims company in BC called ICBC, and 3/4 of the agents I have talked to sorting my claim have been super awesome and helpful. Glad my friend got me signed up for the Roadside plus...otherwise, might not have been covered. :\

People have been so helpful, glad we're covered and 3/4 of the agents have been super cool... So hey, least I can joke about it now. :p

Been saying my guess is because the Tree was clearly completely at fault. ;p Didn't have the right of way, no turn signals, and crashed right into my parked car! :o ...though, I guess it did seem... Pretty cut up about it afterwards. ;) ‪#‎terribletreepuns‬ ‪#‎weareok‬thankfully

90km?! Damn, that's nuts. Sounds like hurricane weather or something. o.o

At least there was no tornado or anything though...right?

lol tree puns. You could also say that those people are...branching out for ya! Haha. That one works, right? :P

I don't live there, but I saw some of the damage. It's just, wow. The hyrdo's website is still down due to the traffic of people in Metro Vancouver trying to see when their power will be on.And this has been since Saturday.

We don't get hurricanes in BC.That's more likely in Alberta. We get rainstorms and earthquakes.

What I heard a lot of people got some bad damages, and someone was injured from a tree.It was good it was just your car and not yourself or a person.

A tree fell on your car?

Well, here's something interesting that happened on the building I lived:

A bowling ball fell on a car once.

I kid you not. It really did happen.

The truth is disappointingly simple however.

A group of teens were doing a dare on the building I lived.

The dare was to throw a bowling ball from the 10th floor.

I was the loudest sound I've ever heard, I seriously jumped off my bed.

But like I said, it was such a simple explanation, I was kinda disapointed. I was expecting something much crazier.

Sorry about your car. I hope your insurance covers it and doesn't give you some "your tree was improperly trimmed" crap. Hurricanes can cause some serious damage.

After Hurricane Irene, I saw a boat in a tree a few miles from my house. I kid you not. Not to mention that there were jet skis scattered everywhere along the highway, and that a new bridge had to be built over an inlet that was ripped open in the storm. BTW, I lived on the OBX of North Carolina at the time.

Thanks. We are covered thankfully. Weird winds for here, never had Hurricane type weather on the West Coast I can recall. :o

Awesome news too, Grandpa heard what happened and he sent us some money to help get a new car, as its a write off officially now. :D
