Hi! I first heard about the Fire Emblem series through Smash Bros Melee when I unlocked Marth and Roy. In all those years I never bought the games, eventhough I saw FE7-F11 lying on the shelves, or I didn't had the console (GBA, Wii, DS) or I never really used the console (Gamecube). When Pokemon XY was released I bought the 3DS, Pokemon and Awakening. Awakening caught my attention after some video reviews. Since then I played (and completed):

- Conquest and Birthright. Still have to finish Revelation but I got quickly bored of the tedious maps.

- FE6 (with the best ending)

- FE7 (Eliwood and Hector)

- FE8 (Eirika and Ephraim)

I caved in and bought this week FE9 and FE10. Very expensive. Afterwards I will probably play FE4 and FE5. Aside from Fire Emblem, I'm also a fan of Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, Diablo and Age of Empires.

Nice to meet all of you!

Welcome! Nice to see more fans around, also wow another joiner of late also caved and paid a pretty penny for fe9, that may be the new trend right now haha. (I continue to thank the fact that I got PoR & RD when they first came out.)

Hope you enjoy yourself around here.

Thanks! Yeah... I paid $110 for FE9 and $100 for FE10 but I heard great things about these games so I don´t mind.

Today I got FE9 and I´m at chapter 4. Loving it so far. FE10 will be delivered between yesterday (no..) and Tuesday.

That makes sense! So out of curiosity what makes Blazing Sword your personal favorite? I tend to like asking this, towards any new person to the forums on their listed favorite.

Also I see you said you play Diablo, I wonder, have you been playing since 1 like myself? Or did you jump on with 2 or 3. (I absolutely adore 2).

First I played FE6 and Blazing Sword build up on that story. In hindsight I should have started with FE7. Fun chapters, good characters (Jaffar, Raven, Sain, Matthew), great Lords especially Hector and his story mode. And sometimes they captured the moment in a screenshot.

And what makes FE6 your favorite?

I started with Diablo 2 and still love that game!

I see! Some of the characters you listed are favs of mine as well, but Matthew is probably my personal favorite.

FE6 is my personal favorite because I just find it the right mixture of fun and challenging on hard mode, I like the characters as well, but i'm generally more of a gameplay guy.

D2 is a goooood place to start haha, what class do you tend to play?

They're up there. Whimsicott is my fave.

Yeah it has a great design. Probably nostalgia but my favorite is Charmeleon. It was my first Pokemon (and game).

The GBA has some of the best characters!

Definately could see that. Maybe I should play it again. At first I had some problems with the mechanics, couple of spells (Berserker staff, Purge) and that Roy, because of his late promotion, was an enemy magnet.

Very good place to start haha. In Diablo 2 it was a mix between the Paladin (combat) and the Necromancer (longe range spells and his army). Was really great to see that in FE8 the sort of final boss was a Necromancer. In the expansion my class was the Druid (mixture of both). What class do you play?

Agreed.

Yeah Berserk is irritating, its why I keep both Ceclia and Saul around for instant Restore haha, yeah and Roy is kind of dead weight sadly past early game and then his SoS makes him solid for like the final 3 chapters lol

I play mostly Paladins (typically Zealer) and Sorceresses (typically Ice focused), I've dabbled in all the other classes at least once, I had a fun Assassin too.

Wasn't used to it so it clouded my opinion but in FE7 I didn't mind. Luckily my team was strong enough (Shin, Saul, Alen, Lance, Rutger, Dieck etc). Yeah I had Clarine and Cecilia in the back and waiting for it to run out.

Me too, all the classes are really fun to play. The game never gets old. So many options.
