I've been trying to get chapter 11 down to 7 turns without forcing a crit on the boss or Matthew dodging 2 out of 3 from the archer and soldier combo, but I couldn't. Might have missed something, but here's another 8 turn. Hector got a bit more exp this time.

Chapter 11

8/8 Turns

Notes

If Hector attacks the wall and Matthew doesn't break it, that will stall the soldier. Then, Matthew can move farther into the next room on turn 2. This would help clear the way for Hector to reach the boss on turn 6, however, Matthew would have to survive hits from both the soldier and archer. That would require forcing a dodge, which I'd rather not do, especially with hit rates this high.

0:42- Hector needs to land this.

Yeah, this RNG is actually a RNG. It would take a lot of restarts to set the 6 turn up. At least I did figure out the 4 turn here.

Chapter 12

4/12 Turns

Notes

Earlygame hit rates are not fun for rout maps. Basically, every hit on a peg had to land, or it wasn't going to work. In addition, Oswin had to hit the Merc with his Javelin out, and Marcus couldn't miss the boss.

0:07- Yeah, using the hand axe is already taking a risk. I don't want to use up the Wolf Beil too quickly though, and the Hand Axe enables Hector to try and attack the Archer and Bandit for a bit of exp. This is at the beginning, a reset doesn't take long.

1:25- This has to be done at 2 range because Hector needs to get out of the Merc's attack range. This forces him onto Oswin.

1:31- Making sure Matthew 4HKOs.

3:29- Hector uses Wolf Beil here for 2 reasons. First, it's late enough that resetting takes a chunk of time. Second, Marcus needs at least one use left on Hector's Hand Axe.

5:20- It took a while to figure this exchange out. Marcus needs to reach the square above this Peg to counter the boss, and both Hector and Oswin are already occupied getting him there. This set took some pretty careful positioning so that Marcus could get the axe, and so that Hector and Oswin could still rescue drop him to the right position.

On a side note, there's a frame around 0:01 where the Hector and Oswin portraits are fused. :awesome:

This is kind of a random thought, but I noticed you ran into the same problem as I did trying to recruit Lucius in Chapter 17. I think recruiting Lucius on Turn 8 is possible, if you send a couple of mounts over to pick the Soldiers out of the way so that Raven has a clear path to Lucius.

I was wondering about that. Last time, I needed everyone to help, but with a better Sain I might be able to spare, say, Lowen to help with Lucius. I certainly wouldn't mind having him around.

Notes

More or less the same as the previous one. I traded Marcus an Iron Lance this time so he didn't have issues ORKOing the Cavs. I elected not to give Bartre and Guy extra experience at the end to give some extra buffer for Kenneth's chapter.

Chapter 13x

8/26 Turns

Notes

More or less made this up on the fly. Defend chapters are always nice and easy, no real planning required.

1:14- Lowen was going to kill this guy anyway, but the crit did cause Marcus to remove a Bandit from the picture. Which ended up having complications of its own, as Marcus needed Serra's help later.

2:51- I like having Oswin solo the left side. It's simple, he can get there easily, and it completely removes one attack point.

6:55- Matthew was around in case Guy didn't kill these Nomads.

9:44- Forgot to equip Hand Axe for the Mage.

12:30- Putting Eliwood here was extremely stupid. He critted himself out of trouble, but I really wasn't thinking. Should have simply blocked the chokepoint and stayed out of the Myrm's range, not killed the archer. I don't feel like recording another run though, especially for a meaningless defend chapter.

Chapter 14

5/31 Turns

Finally got around to this. Only one measly defend chapter and I'll actually be able to throw Sainadin at the unsuspecting enemies. I haven't been putting a whole lot of effort into getting kills for Lowen this time around, mostly because he never really got anywhere offensively when I bothered to do that the last time through. Although I did like the idea of 4 competent Paladins to use, so I plan to give Isadora a Robe and hope she'll be durable enough. At least she won't have Lowen's offensive problems.

2:53- There's plenty of time for Marcus to clean out this side of the map, so he doesn't need to rush too far ahead. Because the boss does a good chunk of damage with the Horseslayer, Marcus actually does risk death if he gets in range of too many enemies.

5:26- I completely screwed up this section. I wanted Hector to get the kill, not have him weaken. And then I compounded it by putting Rebecca in the wrong spot and leaving her in range of the Merc. The original plan was for Rebecca to weaken the Archer from the southeast of where I put her, and then Hector could take the kill. Dorcas would back up if he missed.

7:01- Marcus has to kill this Myrm instead of any other target because he runs away and heals once weakened.

8:05- Forgot to have Dorcas chuck his Hand Axe here.

9:10- Dorcas was supposed to have 2 shots at landing this, and Lowen was supposed to be available as well. But my previous errors made this significantly dicier than it should have been.

Chapter 15

8/39 Turns

I tried to leave the boss alive as long as I could to draw in more reinforcements. I could have killed him as early as turn 2, but he made it to turn 4.

0:14- This exchange happens because these starting spots are in a bad position. Sealen's Longbow range covers this entire area, and I don't want him attacking up there.

1:57- From here, Marcus can draw the boss out of his enclosed area.

3:41- By blocking off the boss, Marcus makes sure he doesn't go hide with the Cavs coming in this turn.

4:16- Apparently I wasn't paying attention and didn't notice that Guy got hit, because I was expecting this guy to go suicide on Hector anyway. If I had, I would have attacked with the Hand Axe here.

Chapter 17

7/51 Turns

Maybe it was possible to recruit Lucius in 8 turns here, but it's probably not possible in 7. Unfortunately, it's also not possible to get the Knight Crest, but since Sain won't need one, that shouldn't be an issue. It will force Kent to wait until after chapter 22 to promote. You can get the Silver Sword this way, but Raven decided to crit the thief that would have gotten it for me, and I don't feel like recording another run.

0:58- I experimented with a few turn 1 formations, and liked this one the best. Kent could have attacked the Myrm at 1 range for better hit by moving a square left, but I noticed he tends to get swarmed by everything and die then. This formation does a good job of spreading the attacks out to different units so no one ends up dead.

2:28- From here, Priscilla is exactly at the edge of the range she needs to be in to recruit Raven on turn 5.

8:48- This will force the boss to equip his Javelin, making it easier to attack. If for some reason Sain was otherwise busy, Marcus could ORKO with the Hammer with over 80 display.

9:00- Goodbye Silver Sword.

10:51- It may seem odd to give Marcus the boss kill considering Sain would have done more with it, but I want a level 7 Marcus before I face Uhai. Last time through, Marcus was able to 2HKO, but Uhai can proc an extra defense point and mess that up. If I have a 17 strength Marcus, that won't be an issue. Marcus hits 17 strength at level 7 here. Sain could do it already, but I don't want to mess with hit rate any more than I have to.

Chapter 17x

4/55 Turns

I restructured my strategy for this chapter in order to kill both of the level 17 Pirates. Kent ended up getting them both.

2:40- Kent is perfectly safe here. Because Priscilla isn't busy, it doesn't matter if the Halberd ends up hitting (which it does.)

3/58 Turns

Sain used a Secret Book. I was hoping Marcus would be a little closer to level 7 than he is, but he should level before fighting Uhai.

1:07- Marcus critting this guy frees up Sain to help everyone else, but there's no issue if Sain has to spend his turn clearing the path. Although in this case, since Erk decided to miss, freeing Sain was rather important.

Chapter 19

4/62 Turns

Marcus got his level with plenty of time to spare, so that wasn't an issue. In retrospect, I could have swapped Kent and Lowen (although Sain would have to break the snag) so Kent would get more exp, but the difference was only ~40 and I don't feel like recording another run.

1:24- The Pirate OHKOing this snag is really good to have, as if it doesn't break, Kent has to use his turn to take it out.

2:43- If Marcus would miss here, this would also eat up Kent's turn to kill this guy. Obviously, there's only one Kent, so you don't want both of these things happening at once.

3:27- If Kent has to break the snag, he can't shield Priscilla here. So Marcus has to chug a vulnerary instead. Which isn't a bad thing, as that allows Marcus to trade Sain's Javelin up. Marcus had taken more damage than usual here though, so I healed him with Priscilla instead.

6:21- This was a bit of a mistake. Marcus should have taken the square to his southwest. This ensures that there are 2 possible paths to Uhai, and one may be cleared on Enemy Phase (it was here). Unfortunately, there was only one path from where I put Marcus, and it did get blocked.

7:41- Normally, I have Kent block this off instead of killing the Pirate, but apparently I forgot. Because of that blunder, I came up with this formation, in which the Nomad would prioritize a weakened Matthew over Priscilla. They weren't supposed to get in at all though.

Sain's proven quite useful. He's already saved a turn on 17 and enabled me to steal the Silver Card, which should eliminate all money issues. His hit is still a bit shaky with 1-2 range, but hopefully that will get better once he gets S Lances. Other than that, it's been excellent having a second Marcus around, and now that Uhai's out of the way, I plan to transition into a heavier dose of Sain. As long as his hit isn't an issue, I'm going to try and have him take most of the boss kills instead of Marcus.

Chapter 19x

5/67 Turns

This is more or less Aquilae's 5 turn clear with the Silver Card, but I did tweak it a bit to give Kent a juicy Sniper kill.

1:09- If a ton of stuff decides to hit Sain, he actually could die here thanks to low res. That Nosferatu shaman has 19 atk against Sain's 3 res, but he only has 43 display, and only kills if everything to that point landed its hit on Sain.

2:30- This is the backup plan for if Sain misses his hit on that mage like he does here. Matthew stays back a square and Hector trades Kent's Javelin up.

5:36- Because Marcus must land his 67 display and Sain must land his 61, this only works out 54% of the time. However, that's the price of the Silver Card, since Marcus can't attack twice or he might kill Aion before Matthew steals the card.

I've been kind of wondering about feeding him a Speedwing and see if I can get him not doubled by Valks, but considering how low he can get their damage with Pure Water, it would be more useful on someone else. I haven't figured out who that someone else is though. Maybe Hawkeye? I was planning on giving Vaida the second one, unless I can't grab it, in which case she'll get the first one.

Chapter 20

6/73 Turns

With Sain around, I had enough power to break through the bottleneck faster and shave a turn off of this.

1:35- Since this Cav managed to get 9 AS this time, Sain was the only one who could clear the path.

4:29- Marcus is really the only one who can handle all the Shamans next to Darin, so he carries the key to open the door. This is the farthest square he can be on to open it next turn.

As long as you go to Kenneth's PFoD, it's pretty easy to get the two speedwings. The second one in Night of Farewells isn't that terribly bad to get, though. It's on the main path, and considering that you need to get by there eventually anyway it's not that bad. At the very least, it's not as far out of the way as the Fenrir and the Thor's Ire.

As for who to give the speedwings to, I definitely advocate Hawkeye and Vaida. Speed is really Hawkeye's only major issue, and a speedwing definitely gets him out of that rut. It does come a bit late, though.

Chapter 21

3/76 Turns

I stocked up on Pure Waters and more 1-2 range weaponry. Since there's 10k gold in the next chapter and I have the Silver Card, I'll have plenty of funds to buy pretty much whatever I feel like at the secret shop. I will want Sain to level up again so he can double Eubans, but that should only take ~4 kills, so I let Kent have the boss kill. I do want him to hit 16/0 before I promote him.

4:01- These 16-17 atk Wyverns only do 11-12 damage to Ninian, so even if it hits and does max poison damage, she's still safe.

Chapter 22

4/80 Turns

I screwed up at the end of this video and got bailed out by a crit, which I'd rather not rely on, but I kept this recording because of all the exp Raven got. Killing Eubans in 4 turns is rather simple, and is pretty much RNG proof. But doing all the other stuff I wanted to do, like recruiting Heath, getting the Brave Axe and 10k gold, visiting the secret shop, getting Raven as much exp as possible, and feeding Rath the boss kill required a lot more thought and some risk.

0:08- This is a nice little trick you can use if you happen to have a lance with 2 uses lying around, allowing Isadora to kill a Swordreaver Fighter and move an extra space forward. This clears out a potential bottleneck for later.

1:25- My Raven got screwed a point of defense (speed too) from his HM bonuses that would have allowed him to survive these next 3 hits, but as it is, he must dodge one of a 55, 52, and 47 display. This risk is unnecessary for the completion of this chapter, but I want to have Raven at a minimum of 13/0 headed into 23x, preferably 14/0 for extra speed and defense.

4:04- This accomplishes 3 objectives at once. Eliwood trades up Kent's Steel Sword for durability, draws Heath into Hector's range, and also fulfills his need to be danced once to reach the Secret Shop on turn 4.

7:03- This is where I screwed up by forgetting to have Hector equip his Hand Axe. Here's how the left side was supposed to work: The mages at 8:16 and 8:28 both attack Hector and get countered. If Hector hits the first one, he then kills it at 1 range. Kent kills the second one, and the path is clear for Legault and Ninian. If Hector misses the first one but hits the second one, he tries to hit the second one again at 2 range so Kent can kill the first one, once again resulting in a clear path. Due to my negligence, what ended up happening was the equivalent of Hector missing both mages, to which the correct response would be Hector killing the first one at 1 range with the Silver Axe (which I forgot to give him). Fortunately, Hector got a crit here. These hits are only 65 display with the Hand Axe, so it pays to have a plan in place.

12:01- The final tally here is 6 Physics, 3 Barriers, 2 Chest Keys, and an Elixir. Silver Card enables mass overkill here.

12:11- The rationale behind Rath getting the boss kill is that I want him to be promoted for 23x, but I'd rather not deploy him in chapter 23.

I'm not entirely sure what to do here for chapter 23. I managed to cut it to a 4 turn clear, but of course I only ended up with 561 exp despite giving Heath one of the bosses and spamming as much Physic as I could. I'm going to try to put a video of it up, although this won't work for a normal run that goes to 23x. I could always skip it, but I'd much rather not do that. I'm halfway tempted to just stick with the 4 turn and hack myself into 23x, ignoring the dumb exp requirement entirely. That would damage the legitimacy of the run though.

I also failed to get the 700 exp again in a 5 turn by a solid margin, so if anyone has suggestions for that, I'd appreciate them.
