    • Perfectly Natural
    • None of the Above (Explain your reasoning by posting)
  2. 2. Do you partake?

I'll be straight up honest.

I partake in Porn.

I Enjoy Porn.

Anyone who's been in IP Chat probably saw me recommending H-Games to other guys every now and then.

For me, I find the urge completely natural, and to be honest, see now reason to be ashamed of it. What about you folks?

For the first question, IDC. It's fine if you're into it, just don't drop porn discs in a park or something.

And no, I don't watch porn.

EDIT: Just saying...

Perfectly nat-u-ral, since many animals perform this starting at adolescence, same goes with humans, except animals have multiple mates due to the adaptations of how nature works, this is an alternative for humans to satisfy that need,BUT too much would be considered shameful pleasure.

EDIT:Society just has us think it's wrong to perform early and today's way of life it is unstable and risky to perform at such an early age and time, but our body was ready when certain parts are fully develop.

I sent my PC in for a repair at Best Buy about 10 years ago. Picked it up, and when I powered it back on, there was a CD-RW in it, filled to the brim with pornography. It had "4" written on it.

What the hell happened to the other 3?

Alright, two reminders:

1. TC, one word is insufficient for a topic in Serious Discussion. I see you're here, so you have two and a half hours before I move this to Far from the Forest.

2. For now, the topic is in Serious Discussion. Please don't stray too far from the prompt.

Now, for my response. . .I think part of the appeal is the "forbidden" nature of sex. Would porn be appealing if we as a species didn't keep sex behind closed doors?

Clipse: Point taken, OP edited. Was thinking of putting my own thoughts a bit later since I had some work when I made this topic but got sidetracked.

Good point. It does have that "Forbidden fruit" allure to it with how prudish the last couple centuries has been.

of course it would. the appeal of pornography isn't because we keep sex a secret, porn exists because of horniness.

Right. Forgot that porn doesn't necessarily have to be visual (hello there Song of Songs, even if that's supposed to be a love poem). Dunno if there's anything older than that, but it would be interesting.

I've heard being a porn actress has a high likelihood of being a truly god-awful job, even though it pays well (sometimes), and that the sex (prostitution/pornography) industry generally chews people (a large enough proportion of whom are women that it probably bears mentioning) up and spits them out rapidly

I can never find the exact sources when I need them (tumblr (yes, I know) isn't very organized without add-ons), but I've generally heard enough grim shit, in both anecdotes and statistics (which, conveniently, I can't place at this moment), about the effects of the (filmed, especially) pornography industry on the actors involved and its consumers (both sexes) that I don't think I could find it in me to be very upset if I woke up and it didn't exist any more.

This doesn't qualify as an unbiased source, but for example:

If by "porn" you mean "all smut and/or depictions of sex in media," I don't know. (at least not at this particular post-2 AM moment)

The Romans were pretty shameless. There was porn all over areas that werent even brothels. Pompeii had it littered all over the walls too in graffiti. So even when sex was viewed as less shameful, there was still porn. :v

Porn is never going away. Ever. It has always existed and it will always exist. Its just time to come to terms with that. Its in our nature to be voyeuristic horn-beasts and get randy by watching/seeing/hearing acts of copulation. Its just what it is.

Do i partake? Nah not really. Do i even care? Only when it shows up in places where it ought not be. Damn you, Rule 34!

Egyptian 'Turinerotic papyrus' 1150 BCE is the oldest I know. (Yay, useless knowledge)

Question 1 Answers:

- Shameful Pleasure?

If I find something shameful, I generally don't find it pleasurable. Nor do I find pleasure in doing something that I'd consider shameful (there has to be a valid reason as to why I see it as shameful, which makes the decision in itself much less appealing to me.) I also don't see the overall appeal of random people I have no initial interest/knowledge of prior going around doing sexual acts just to 'entertain' people, nor do I care to gawk at stranger's naked forms in attempts to find any sort of pleasure from it. So no, on that answer.

- Perfectly Natural?

It's one thing to gauge and find the best mate possible, whether it is due to appearance, physique, or a mixture of both in the wild/nature. It happens all the time. However, I don't believe/think that gawking at and otherwise fapping away while observing random people doing an act that is meant to be of their own personal business would be what I'd consider to be natural by any means. Humans really are sick, perverse creatures compared to most other animals, and so they find things like this to amuse themselves with when they're unable to IRL, imo. There are many other acts humans do on a daily basis that are just as bad (if not worse), but that's a side topic/tangent from the topic at hand. So once again, no, it's not natural.

Question 2 Answer:

- Do I partake?

Obvious answer is obvious; no, I don't care to, and I really don't see the point of it.

I understand that others will, and that it'll always be around, but I just see it as one of the more corrupt/perverse area in society, because all it encourages is people to objectify people and, quite frankly, degrades those who partake in it. I realize it's also a way of life for some, and they're free to do so/live in that manner if they so choose to, but it's just a matter/lifestyle that disgusts me personally.

BBM recommended a Japanese adult visual novel to me once (Fate/Stay Night). I can safely say that after playing it, I've never been the same again.

that's not true at all in general. why would people seek to hide evidence of their sexual conduct if they don't find it shameful? why would they solicit sexual interaction if they don't find it pleasurable?

you're a female. as a male, i see nothing wrong with it.

I don't even want to say what I think about the matter because I'd look like a Bible Thumper. OK, I think it's shameful. I'm not getting into personal matters or anything, but please say "watching porno" at your next Penance. But it's your descision to watch it or not. Do what you want.

People will enjoy what they enjoy, and there's no reason to criticize them for that. So, natural.

it's not my fault you didn't use the all ages patch!

Are you mad they took your porn Elie?

The fact is that guys want to get off, and most of them can't just have sex when they want to do so. It's easier masturbating when you're looking at something arousing as opposed to if you're just thinking about it. I don't think anyone thinks the porn industry itself is a fun place to be, but it wouldn't exist if there wasn't a market for it.

No you misunderstand, I had 0 porn-filled CDs before dropping it off to be repaired, and 1 free CD after it got repaired. I came out on top, I think!

Also, yea, I can't see that much fun in being involved in the porn industry, but that doesn't change the fact that sex sells, and you'd be hardpressed to argue against it that firmly, if you're over the age of 18 even moreso.

Natural because....well, it's natural. I even have preferences. I will be honest here, I enjoy rape, tentacle, ntr, cheating hentai. The first time I watch porn is when I was 10, my parents were away and I sneaked into my dad's room, took his..."collection" and enjoyed myself (which means...I fapped).

This is an argument I never quite got. Saying "X is unnatural" makes no sense to me, because us humans are part of nature and everything we do is part of nature, hence human nature. You may want to argue that it is unhealthy (which I don't agree with), that would make more sense to me.

(plus I'm fairly sure animals can be voyeuristic as well)

The only problems I can see (from my point of view, I have no idea how bad it is for a porn actress) is that it creates unrealistic expectations for future partners, and the fact that usually porn sites are full of intrusive ads and viruses.

i don't usually talk about porn or sexual matters

you're a female. as a male, i see nothing wrong with it.

woah

Considering I've heard there were studies into the fact that 55% of females watch porn at least once a month in the past, I think they still have a say even if they find it perverse.

Okay so I don't feel like spending too many words on this subject right now, so I'll just make a few pointers.

  • In response to eclipse's assertions. I know for a fact men and women can and will be turned on by sexually suggestive behaviour. If I take for granted that pornography is a depiction of sexually suggestive or flat out explicit behaviour it would stand to reason that humans can and will be turned on by pornography. There is no reason here to not try to go to the root cause and instead try to stay superficial.
  • Watching porn does not amount to watching two people just having sex. I can not stress this enough. I get turned on by women "presenting" themselves ready and willing, or seeing them enjoying their sexuality. And I fantasize about being there/doing it with them. This corresponds with what I and most men get turned on by in real life. I'm not certain enough of my case to discuss what turns on women, but I am certain they do get turned on so they have to get turned on by something.
  • Sex in and of itself is much more than the ole "in-out, in-out" and the mental part of it is much more important than the physical part. It should not be a surprise that by stimulating the mental part, you can get a physical response.
