Paris Mafia - Game over, Mimes win!

Bonjour! Bienvenue à Paris. Oh, you don't speak French? tsk tsk, well, not everyone can be so cultured. Perhaps a few days stay in our glorious capital will help? Nevermind the rumors of violent murders in the night, rabid lynch mobs during the day, or the somewhat bemusing plague of mimes. It will be good for you, I promise!

Paris Mafia is an open setup. It consists of the following role distribution:

2 Mafia Goons

2 Mimes

1 Vigilante

1 Watcher

5 Vanilla Town

The role PMs are as follows:

You are a Goon. You are on a team with ________, who is also a Goon.

You may communicate with the other Goon via PM. In addition, each game night you may PM me the name of one player to kill, and the Goon who will perform the kill.

You win when only Goons are alive.

You are a Mime. You are on a team with _______, who is also a Mime.

You may communicate with the other Mime via PM. In addition, each game night you may PM me the name of one player to roleblock, and the Mime who will perform the roleblock. All night actions by the blocked player will not occur. You will not be informed of whether or not a block successfully alters the events of a night.

You win when all Mimes have been lynched.

You are a Vigilante, Town-Aligned.

Each game night you may PM me the name of one player to kill.

You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated.

You are a Watcher, Town-Aligned.

Each game night you may PM me the name of a player to watch. You will be informed via PM of all other players that targeted the watched player with a night action.

You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated.

In addition to one of the above, your role PM will consist of a

"Dear _________,

You are [Person]. You are a famous Parisian [occupation] and one of the key figures of/in [field]."

This is purely to provide a modicum of flavor, and has no gameplay effect. There is no reason to request or disseminate the information provided in these lines, but neither is it prohibited.

The game rules are as follows:

Have fun.

Play to your win condition to the best of your ability.

This game is No Outside Contact. Do not discuss the game with anybody other than the host outside of the game thread for any reason. The sole exception to this is if you have a group PM given to you from the host, in which case you may use that to discuss the game with your partner.

To be valid, a vote must be in the format: ##Vote: User.

Lynch occurs instantly upon a player receiving the majority of votes.

In the event a day ends without a majority, the game will proceed upon the host's discretion.

The game begins with Day 1.

Clarifications

In a 1 vs 1 a Mime will Endgame a Town.

In a 1 vs 1 a Mime will Endgame a Goon.

In a 1 vs 1 a Goon will Endgame a Town.

When a Mime dies to a nightkill, the Mime faction loses and is removed from the game.

The game's winner must obey Highlander rules: There can only be one. (No joint victories. This should be obvious by the endgaming clarifications, but being crystal clear cannot hurt.)

I reserve the right to add, remove, or clarify rules to this list without notice up and until game start. If a rule is added, removed, or revised during the game, a post announcing this fact and a summary of the changes will be provided in the thread to notify all players. Outside of this, is a player's responsibility to remain up to date.

If any aspect of the setup is confusing, please feel free to request for clarification.

If more sign-ups occur than there is room for players, those who make the cut will be chosen by lottery, the remaining will be eligible for substitution if they remain willing.

do mimes insta-lose if they die to NK or vig?

another thing - mimes would also insta-lose if caught by the watcher, but then have to be vigged out of the set-up

i would recommend making the roleblock a ninja, and have the mimes suicide if the other is shot at night

but i dunno. lol jesters

Prims: On the night death of either of the mimes, the mime faction loses the game and the entire faction is removed from play to prevent them from being any worse kingmakers than they might already be, yes.

I don't think the Mimes need to be ninja, though they are probably the hardest faction to win as. I'll give it some additional thought, though.

EDIT Actually Mafia Goon might not be that bad maybe...
