I actually tried a few things with this and for some reason if you lock the Thief inside the chest room he goes aggressive after a few steals. This is literally infinite though. That's kind of funny to exploit that. i think its abit more complex then that. thiefs might be programmed to to fill up as many inventory slots as they can before trying to leave. Steal anything that can be stolen only if within range (They won't actively seek a unit to steal from). Open chests if they are available (They have keys/picks and their is an unoccupied chest tile) Open doors if they are within range or are in the way of chests. Flee the map from a predesignated escape tile if none of the above can be applied. There are a few minor exceptions of thieves using a "non-standard" thief AI.
