START

Chose Mudkip for my starter (and was lucky enough for it to be female, which means I won't have to worry about Flannery's Torkoal trying to stifle my efforts with Attract) and pulverised the wild Zigzagoon harassing Professor Birch.

Afterwards, went over to Route 103 to challenge the rival, defeating his Treecko with a superfluous critical hit.

Headed over to Petalburg City, saving some trainers for until after I got Shroomish and getting berries in the process. Went over to the Gym to talk to Norman, and enter Wally. Escorted Wally to get him a Pokemon (on that note, why a Ralts is the first species he encounters, I'll never know. Especially considering my rather rotten luck when it comes to finding the things.).

Enter Petalburg Woods. Shroomish get (but not without having to restart s ton of times out of dissatisfaction with the natures I was getting (Most of them either had a Sp. Attack boosting nature, and out of THOSE, 7 were Rash, or an Attack decreasing nature). Knocked the trainers I skipped flat with my Shroomish, then returned to Petalburg Woods and pwned the Team Aqua Grunt. Exited out.

Stats

EDIT: Well, it's plain as day; I suck with using code.

Lol

I got a modest female ralts as first try.

Lucky you. It often takes me forever and a day just to find ONE Ralts. Especially in Hoenn, considering Ralts's 4% encounter rate. Also, does it have Synchronize or Trace?

Its got trace, and it also has like 31 ivs in sp att and spd, according to the iv calculators...

Christmas came one day early for hoenn...

And its like having nino come in the prologue of hnm!!!!

Update:

Battled my way to Rustboro, then went to the Pokemon Center before taking the gym on. The gym was a complete curbstomp, with nothing of note happening, other than Roxanne's Nosepass managing to put up a fight. Afterwards, chased a Team Aqua Grunt to Rusturf Tunnel (with Mudkip evolving on the way), pwned him, and headed back to Rustboro, where Shroomish took down the rival singlehandedly.

So, I started,

The proffessor asked whether I was a boy or a girl.

And, I select boy and name my self "Creeper"

Got a relaxed Mudkip and

A MODEST FEMALE RALTS ON THE FIRST TRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, the only ones that need some babying are Kirlia and Zubat.

The former can sweep waters and slow fliers, adn the latter does well when it evolves.

Hrm... I prfer Synchronize; I just don't find Trace all that useful in-game.

How about tracing levitate when a claydol/flygon tries to use EQ??

OR better yet, how about Immunity, when the opponents pkmn tries to use toxic.

Or Clear body, when the opponent uses screech..

Seeing that no one wants Slakoth, I could hope for it...

Both of those are rather poor examples, seeing as Immunity's only on two Pokemon and Clear Body is only on the Regis, the Beldum line, and Tentacool's line (and only the latter learns Screech). And of course, that's assuming that you're switching into them, not the other way around.

along with the fact that it can be useful...

like Wallaces Ludicolo has rain dish, and wallace uses rain dance.

Tracing that get something :awesome:

Looks like I'll have a poison type monopoly here, so anyone want Koffing??

It's a tank.

If not, then I'll just snatch it.

and get screwed by tate and liza

Yet another poor example, since only one of Wallace's Pokemon has Rain Dance (and if said Pokemon gets TKO'd before it uses Rain Dance, tracing Rain Dish will do you no good).

Well.

Trace is free, and has situational uses

And I'm not going to try looking for another modest female Ralts with 30/31 IVs in SP ATT and SPD

Whatever the case, I prefer nailing the opponent with a status should I get hit with one (assuming they're susceptible) over a situational at best ability.

On a side note, Route 110 is annoying to traverse because of Electric types galore who LOVE to smack you with Thunder Wave the first chance they get.
