I made a hack of Fire Emblem 4 out of boredom.

CHANGELOG:

- All characters with the exception of dancers have Pursuit.

- All playable male and female characters have new growths.

- Weapons have been altered in all attributes, as well as uses. Axes and Lances are no longer heavy and inaccurate. Fire tomes have received a lot of buffs, for a more controllable magic triangle.

- Dierdre, Arden, and Cuan all promote. Dierdre into a sage, Arden into a Baron, and Cuan into a Master Knight. Finn now promotes into a Paladin.

- All brigands and pirates now have Steal as a class skill

- Noish no longer has Critical. It has been replaced with Continue.

- Arden now starts off as a General and comes equipped with a Silver axe. He has Great Shield, Ambush, and Wrath as skills.

- Several holy bloods have been altered. Baldo now gives +15% to Luck, Nier gives +10% to STR, and Hezul gives +10% to SKL.

- Holy weapons have been altered. Mistletainn now gives +10 STR, Falaflame now gives +20 MAG and +5 SPD, and Lopt now has 40 Might - 20 magic and +10 RES.

- Sylvia no longer has holy blood. This is a personal choice, and her buffed growths make up for it.

- Holyn now has Major Odo. This should give him many new potential pairings.

- All classes have new and improved class caps.

- Several characters have new classes and promotions. Azel promotes to Mage Fighter, Arthur promotes to sage, Sety starts as a Mage Fighter, Delmud promotes to Paladin, Hannibal starts as a Baron and Aless promotes to Forest Knight.

- Swordmasters and archers/snipers/bow knights now have Critical as a skill.

- Several classes have new weapon skills now. Paladins have A rank swords and lances, etc.

- Wind magic now has a critical effect on Pegasus knights and dragon riders.

- High Priests have A rank light magic. They can wield Aura, among other tomes.

- Oifey has been buffed and now starts with a silver lance, but has few levels to grow in. He also now has Elite as a skill.

- ALL holy blooded enemies have been buffed. Some to an extreme degree.

- All stat boosting rings have been priced dropped to 20000.

- The Pursuit ring now gives it’s wearer Canto, +3 movement, Elite, and Life. It’s worth 40000.
- Dierdre’s headband now has Elite, Prayer, Life and Return.

- Several enemies now drop different loot. Shagall drops Balgonone, for example.

- Several characters now come with different starting gear. Sylvia starts with her Defense Sword.

- Finn’s lover growths have been increased, making it easier for pairings involving him.

i was able to play the first chapter so far and a little bit of the second chapter. one of the more noticeable differences is that Arden is a General instead of a Sword Armour, i guess you did that because he's....a slow fighter. and also Aira (the female swordfighter from the 2nd chapter) has a Silver Sword instead of a Iron sword, which would make it harder to dodge her if you want to recruit her. but so far, it's a good hack, haven't made it far though but i will.

this seems suspiciously similar to the Shin patch balances

Actually, a lot of the ideas came from FE4Binary, although Im not that good of a hacker and can't do all the awesome things they did

it's good to have more FE4 things, however simple

I was poking around your patch's data out of curiosity, and noticed something about the inventories

I dunno if it's been tested thoroughly, but having a character in first gen have starting items the same as some in the second gen may cause duplication issues due to passing down and whatnot; just something to check since I haven't yet

also be careful about adding shop items to character inventories if the shop is still going to have the same item numbers

I learned that actually. This resulted in the silver claymore in the chapter 2 store to be MUCH weaker than the one Ayra starts out with.

If you notice anything, I'd be more than happy to see what I can do about it

Question, have you made the enemies stronger in this hack?

Also, many of these changes are also present in the Shin hack. Can you give me any arguments to play this instead?

I never played the Shin patch, so any similarities are unintentional.

But yes, all of the holy blooded enemies have recieved new equipment, better bases and/or new skills. They shall prove difficult to kill.

you shouldn't play certain romhacks 'instead' you should play them 'in addition to'

In all honesty, whilst the Shin Patch is objectively the best FE4 hack ever a thing, this project should strive to progress as its own entity rather than trying to avoid being similar or trying to emulate my work.

Remember, difficulty isn't just about buffing stats, you need to consider the consequences of doing so - otherwise you'll just end up frustrating the player.

I've already played through it, so I know it's possible. I've had close friends play through it as well. The holy enemies are tough, but it's entirely possible fo beat them, trust me.

I'm not finished and it's still on it's way towards improvement. I plan on giving classes more weapons to wield, change enemy layout, etc. This is just what majority of it is so far.
