I want to train them, so I have more options, but they're so weak it's pretty hard to. So who DIDN'T you guys use? I noticed I had never used Miriel, Stahl, Mariebell, Vaike (for a while, before I trained him), Lissa (again, for a while, before training her), and Sumia. Of course, there's a few exceptions like Olivia, Lucina, or the entire cast of children. Lon'qu, Gaius, Panne. Favorite unit being Falcoknight or Dark Flier, of course I'd have millions of fliers in my group. It helps with travel, and it helps me get done with DLC maps (in order to get another Paragon, Iote's Shield, or Limit Breaker). And, they can fly over walls! Three out of four of those are some of my best, Gregor, Kellam, and Vaike. Gregor makes an amazing Hero, Vaike is a beast as a Berserker, and Kellam is just about unkillable as a General. CrimeanRoyalKnight Posted July 21, 2014 Share Posted July 21, 2014 I rarely use (not counting children): Lon'zu: he's really frail and Gaius always did his job better for me (he tends to get amazing level-ups), but I'd like to use him from start to finish in my homo run. Cordelia: I used her the first time around because I prefer sturdier Pegasus Knights (Sumia didn't look like one), but I really grew to dislike her character even if she is one of the best Gen I units (Pegasus + Merc + Dark Mage). Plus, I have Sumia bias. Ricken: lol, he is so bad, and I don't like his character either. Kellam: too slow, laughable MOV, not strong enough to make up for it, especially in a game where doubling matters a lot. Tharja: I prefer to use Henry because I get Evil!MAGHETTO* vibes from him, but I guess she is not a bad unit. Libra: he's a prepromote and comes when some people are already better than him; character wise, he has some of the best supports, I've yet to be disappointed by him. Tiki: lol, no. Say'ri: lol, go away to your Sengokuland. Virion: I used him once; I'm so sorry for his crappiness, he's among the best characters, personality-wise. Free DLC characters: never used any... maybe I'd use Aversa because I like witches. Tables Posted July 21, 2014 Share Posted July 21, 2014 I've used most in past playthroughs. I think ones I've used the least are: Stahl (I dunno... I prefer Sully because child and faster, I don't think Stahl is necessarily bad but he always seems not very useful) Kellam (His class pool isn't too hot, and ehh, he just never seems like someone I want to use. Came very close on my current playthrough mind) Ricken (Miriel is so much better, mostly because she can take a SS and go Dark Mage, plus she's a competent unit with an easily recruitable son, which considering I have a soft spot for using kids is something I like). Maribelle (she's the worst of four healers who join fairly early. She might be filler until Anna joins but that's about it) Cordelia (seems to be the character I always say 'ehh, next time' on. She's good, but I just haven't used her properly yet) Cherche (joins too late for her less than stellar stats. I realised she's probably actually not too bad recently, though) Of the kids, Inigo, Brady, Gerome and Severa - three because of their parents and then Inigo because he's usually not very good after recruitment, if Olivia even gets married, due to joining late and Olivia dancing forever. I basically have a a small group of overtrained units and I leave everyone else alone. I train a couple units just to get their kids and soon dump them to the bottom of the list Lissa, Frederick, Sully, Virion, Stahl, Vaike, Miriel, (currently shaming self as I type this list) Kellum, Donnel, Maribelle, Ricken, Panne, Cordelia, Tharja, Libra, (I never thought about this before but now that I'm naming everyone it feels like a list of sins) Nowi, Gregor, Sai'ri and a couple children that I'm now ashamed to add to the list...I should really use them more... Vaike- I just can't stand him and for some reason I tend to leave him behind because of his horrible resistance. Virion- He just got killed too often for me to use him late game. Kellam- By the time he got to the battlefield; basically everything was already dead. Gregor- He wasn't really special and I just bench him after his chapter. Sully gets used depending on what i feel like doing during a run. Kjelle doesnt get used much. Ricken gets to sit on the bench a lot too. Lately, Donnel gets married and sits on the bench. Frederick rots on the bench after like, chapter 10, unless hes someone else's support bot. But yeah Kellam and Vaike for sure. Say'ri, Tiki, and Anna get benched too. Anna, sometimes i wont even recruit her until post-game cuz im just not arsed with her. The Spotpass characters also get benched.
