I've heard that the shin patch for Fire Emblem 4 is hard and really fun, therefore i would like to play it, however when i try to use the ips program to patch the shin patch to a fresh FE4 file it won't open, and it says that the file has been damaged.

If anyone knows how to do it please help me.

Thank you in advance!

IIRC, a header is something in a SNES ROM thats basically that second of black screen right when the ROM loads. Its seemingly pointless data that most ROM hackers, from what I've heard, usually remove. I'm no expert on ROMS, so I may not be 100% correct, but thats the gist of it. You can use a few things to remove headers. If you have a 32 bit OS, SNEStool is an old program you can use. I have heard you can run it on 64 bit with DOSBox though. AN alternative is a program called SNESStuff.

I'm pretty sure we aren't allowed to link to roms on here. I'm assuming you've applied an english patch to FE4 before? If so its basically the same process I think. Or you could always just ask Shin himself and he could tell you.

If you're trying to use the current version of Shin patch, it won't work. There's something wrong with the patch, two extra bytes in the end of it corrupts the rom.

Until Shin releases a fix for this current patch, a new one or someone provides you v1.93 you won't be able to play it.
