Gradivus.
Hi everyone, I intend to make a hack of Fire Emblem: Light and Shadow. Unfortunately, I don't know how to accomplish that, so I'd appreciate an instructor. I have a Skype account, for which you can contact me by private message. Book of Ereshkigal
I doubt anyone will teach you beyond directing you to some tools(which from my understanding, there aren't many tools for it other than text editing and graphics?). VincentASM
Is there a specific reason you're picking FE12 to hack? I admire the enthusiasm and you definitely picked an interesting game (one of my favourites), but the tools for hacking FE12 are extremely limited. That's not the worst part either, as FE12 is the only game so far with encrypted growth rates. I can explain how to decrypt them... kind of, but it's going to be bothersome re-encrypting them for all the characters you're changing. If you really want to hack a DS game, I would recommend starting with FE11 until you get the hang of it. True, it's a bit less interesting, but it's a better workplace. Gradivus.
if it's actually that hard, then i'll stick to FE:SD first, however, it seems you have some hacking tools for it, if so, i'd like to use them too :) i picked fe12 cuz its kinda my favorite edition though. EdeaCreamer
If you need the growth cyphers lemme know, I'm not sure if I ever uploaded the full list on here or not. Be forewarned, it looks like complete gobbledegook and requires instructions on how to use (and certain rates aren't available, such as 85%; you'd have to settle for 80% or 90%). Brendor
I believe you can use no$ to hack FE12

TBH I'm keep forgetting where I saved those. I also have a custom DeSmuME build (replace "Char" with "Class" for the class one) that DarkTwilkitri made that lets you read the growths in-game. So you could brute-force your way through the encryption if you're patient (and figure out any missing growth rates, like the 85%).
Naughx
I also have a custom DeSmuME build ...The link seems to be dead... Also do you have the source? (In case the guy doesn't use Windows... And wants to recompile his own binary) :P Edited October 1, 2014 by Naughx
VincentASM
...The link seems to be dead... Also do you have the source? (In case the guy doesn't use Windows... And wants to recompile his own binary) :P I think the forum killed the link. Try this or remove everything in the URL before "old". I don't have the source on me right now, but it should be around... somewhere. If anybody needs it, I'll try digging it up, but my organisation is terrible (and I have multiple hard drives, some of which are currently "broken").
