【東方】 Touhou draft the nth (Now with Hard and Lunatic!)

Okay so this is the nth Touhou draft for on SF, be proud!

Because I like to make things difficult for me, I'm going to be judging this tourney, so make me and my possible cohosts proud!

Anyway, here are the rules (Thanks to VAMPIRE-CHAN SCARLET for the rules!)

1. This draft is for either 4 or 8 players. If 8 players join, each shot type will be available twice.
2. All the Windows games will be played, except for PoFV and the ones that aren't integers. As of now, that's eight games.
3. Only one character/team/shot/whatever may be drafted per game. Only teams will be picked in IN, but you can then use one of the characters of your team solo if you wish to.
4. No cheating. You can abuse glitches and safespots if that's your thing, though.

5. The Hitbox Patch for EoSD, as well as V-Sync-Patches to help with laggy controls are explicitely allowed (they can be viewed and are linked to on this page).
6. Practice all you like, but all replays presented are to be recorded during the this draft, and in the correct order. No here's-one-I-prepared-earlier.
7. Default gameplay settings (where applicable) - that's 3 lives and 3 bombs in EoSD, PCB and IN.

8. Continues are not allowed. You can continue as often as you like when you practice, but your actual submission can't use them.

9. MarisaB for MoF is allowed as long as the appropriate V-Sync patch is applied.

Procedure:

1. Snake-style drafting will be used to determine shot types used. Take your pick from the entire pool, but after choosing from one game you obviously can't choose another from the same game.

2. Once all players have picked their shot types, you'll need to choose in advance what difficulty you'd like to play each game on. You can choose any difficulty you want (regardless of what the other players choose), and you don't need to choose the same difficulty for each game. Choose wisely, however, as you can't go back and change your mind afterwards!
3. The games will be played in chronological order, with each player using what they drafted for each game. You can send in as many replays of the same game as you like, only the latest will be counted - however, once you've sent in a replay of the next game, no further improvements of the previous game will be accepted.

So, for instance, when you finish EoSD, you can send in improvements of EoSD as well as replays of PCB. Once you send in a replay of PCB, improvements to EoSD are no longer possible, but you can move on to IN (or improve PCB).

Of course there's the deadline, too. You have one week per round.
4. After attaining a satisfactory score, players will send the host a replay as evidence (preferably by linking to it via PM, although sending it as an attachment also works). At the end of each round, these replays will be released for everyone to watch and the scores and rankings will be declared. You can upload your replays here (although at this time, DDC does not seem to be supported. You can upload DDC replays here instead). Please don't watch others' replays before the end of each round if they upload them there.

Scoring:

1. The primary source of points is obtaining the highest score. The player who scores highest will get seven points, second place is four, third place is two. The lowest score doesn't get any points.
2. 1ccing the game gets you a flat three point bonus if there are 4 players, and 5 point bonus if there are 8 players.
(For your convenience: this results in 10/7/5/3 points respectively when the game is 1cc'd, and 7/4/2/0 when it isn't for 4 person competition, and 20/17/14/12/10/8/6/5 respectively when the game is 1cc'd with 8 people, and 15/12/9/7/5/3/1/0 when it isn't.)

I guess I'll be commenting on replays like Fera, except I guess I'll focus on how to improve instead, since I'm not very good at making hilarious commentaries.

Also, choose EASY MODO for UFO. My attempt at UFO Easy had me almost beating my Normal Mode high score, even though the Easy run was filled with much more careless blunders.

I have a feeling that Jprebs will completely own this draft. I'm interested in the competition between the other three players though.

It's meant to be fun, the point totals aren't really supposed to mean anything, but alright...

You'll want to practice a bit.

Player spell cards are the analogue to bombs in the PC98 games, and are (for the most part) unique to each shot type. You might want to play around a bit with the shots and spells before you make your choices.

Enemy spells are used by (mid-)bosses, and they're souped up bullet patterns. Those are (in my opinion) the bulk of the bosses' challenge, so you'll want to practice them a bit. IN, TD, and DDC have spell practice, so you can practice specific spells.
