Emeraldfox
I only selected a part and added near illegible text. Did that with GIMP. Now.. I don't know if there's a tutorial or anything, but could someone who uses the program tell me where the icons are and what some of them do? But anyway.. Not a bad start, huh? ecks dee
California Mountain Snake
Putting a solid outline, especially white or light gold, around the letters would make them infinitly more legible and far more attractive. It's kind of a lacy font choice too for such a busy picture, tends to overload the image. Pick something less fine. Emeraldfox
Here's my second one! Should have spaced better though.. But yeah, what do you think? Also, I'm editing my first one.
Lux Aeterna
I like the second one, but doesn't the text at the bottom right look a bit cut off? D:
Emeraldfox
Yeah.. Spacing problem on my part. I'll fix it. As soon as I figure out how to move text.. Edited August 30, 2009 by Momizi Inubashiri
XxFeaRLeSsxX
I use Gimp. The sig I have right now is made on Gimp. ^^ I like the second one too, but you should make the text kinda... I dunno, blend into the sig more? XD A border would be nice too.
Doom103
Em do you want me to teach you how to sig make epically?
Emeraldfox
Dunno man.. For something like this you need to piddle around and get critique and advice on how to improve. Now, something I'll use in a little while. I thought that this was the best sig I've made, then I realized I could have done much more with it. Bah. Soanevalcke~
You've improved a lot since the first sig' you posted; nice work! :). May I suggest a border? Just a simple one, like a 1px *insert a color here* line: it will make the signature look way better. Greetings, dear. I hope you keep posting your work <3. Doom103
Em I love you and you know that, but those aren't really signature banners, more like just pictures with sig dimensions I can teach you how to make really pretty sigs though if you want
lolDeath
Needs way more lens flare and a picture of Sephiroth thrown in.
Emeraldfox
Here's another one. Still haven't figured out how to add a border yet. :x
Raven
What program you using? I make my sigs using Paint.NET, a free program you can download. Just Google "paint.net". I can help you improve on your current sigs. You know where I am (Hint: MSN).

Hero
A new one. I don't even know how the text gets smudged like that.. Assuming you're still using PDN, you probably saved it as a JPEG with less-than-perfect quality. That's something you almost always want to avoid when you have text or other very fine details in the image you're saving. The program will always ask you for the level of compression you want when you hit "Save" or "Save As". You should always take a look at what effect your choice has in this window because the program won't compress the version of the image that you're working on unless you close and reload it. So would saving the image as .png be better? And thanks.
Hero
I see.. So would saving the image as .png be better? And thanks. You could do that, or just as a .JPEG with 95 or more quality. That usually doesn't make any smudging.
