[Nightmare]

We have one! It's great! Cool! Full of awesome people like Wist! And me! And OxR! And...so much more! I thought to make this topic to replace the old one since this is my chatroom (actually owned by SmartRutter, but it's mine too). Here we go.

DIRECTIONS

For all the IRC noobs out there.

To access the channel, either use the terrible applet or download an IRC client, such as mIRC. Or if you have Firefox, you can get Chatzilla, an easy to use add-on that acts as an IRC client. If you're on a Wii, you can use Mibbit.

To connect to the server, when using an IRC client, type (into the little box where you can type stuff):

/server irc.darkmyst.org

Once you're connected, you will have to join the channel, by typing:

/join #Serenes_Forest

Congratulations! You're now in! But there's more! You will have to choose a nickname. If your chosen nick is taken, then NickServ will warn you to change it. Once you find your desired nick, and it's not taken, you can register it by typing in:

/msg nickserv register [password] [your email]

Without the brackets. Afterwards, every time you connect to the server with that nickname, you will have to identify it as such:

/msg nickserv identify [password]

And you're done! There are some intricacies to working IRC and you'll learn those as you go. And just so you know, operators are like the moderators of the channel. The current channel operators are:

SmartRutter (Figurehead)
Nightmarre the Magnificent (Super Tyrant, me)
Duke Hikarusa, the Male Donkey Cavity (Super Tyrant's right hand man)
Duchess Harudoku, the Atomic (Super Tyrant's left hand woman, Utsuho_Reiuji on IRC)
Count kdanger, the Undefinable (Super Tyrant's middle hand ambiguous)
Baron Ike-Mike, the Manchild (Super Tyrant's subordinate, Big_Boss on IRC)

There are also several knights, but only one for now:

1 - Sir Parrhesia, the Flametongue (commander)

That's also the chain of command.

edit 2: half those rules are bullshit btw just follow rule 10 sometimes if you feel like it

edit 3: apparently sometime in the past like year and nine months an edit was made to the rules that got rid of one and made rule 10 rule 9, so follow that one now

Also Pidgin. Runs frickin' everything, not just IRC.

- The IPv6 address also works with the SSL port.

This is currently timing out on handshakes for me, but I usually try to use SSL when possible.

People get kicked a lot because it's funny, and no cause for concern. Only bans are relevant as a punitive measure. Like in the case of Tatsumaki, who is an unrelenting troll.
