Yet again, concern for one of her friends proved a dangerous distraction. As Tessa had turned back, her gut wrenched as she saw a solid blow from Irina send Kamilla flying.

"NOOOOO!" she called out, tears starting to form at the corners of her eyes. Quickly running towards her fallen friend, feebly trying to crawl away, she knelt and began frantically to heal the reformist. First placing her staff on the wound, then cradling her head, as the tears were now fully streaming down her face.

"You... never deserved this. Never."

Althea saw the wyvern rider knock Kamilla from Blitz. Poor girl...but this mission must be completed. She whirled around and tried to attack Arrin, but the nomad woman got in the way...

Heinz grinned as the cavalier began to sway on the saddle, aiming to finish him off. The first dagger struck cleanly (+2 dmg), when the cavalier made a last ditch effort and urged his horse into a gallop away from the thief, causing the second dagger to miss (+0 dmg). Heinz blinked, stunned as the lance cavalier turned his horse around, the sword striking directly at Heinz's chest (+4 dmg Link).

Arrin ran after Tessa, standing beside her and keeping an eye on the battle as she healed Kamilla. Kelas followed, ready to intercept any attack that came... and one did. The leader followed, aiming to attack Arrin. Kelas threw herself from the saddle to intercept the blow. "Like hell I'm going to let you kill him!" she snarled, staggering under the force of the blow. Her left shoulder was badly injured; shooting would be right out. She dropped her bow and drew her sword, making a careless swing.

(4,2,1) Miss!

The woman parried easily and attempted to cut her down, realizing that killing Arrin would require getting Kelas out of the way.

(5,4,6) Hit! Althea does 9 damage! Kelas KO!

This time Kelas did fall. "Kelas!" Arrin shouted. He still refrained from attacking; now that he was thinking reasonably again, he wasn't sure he could hit this woman, let alone do damage. He had no idea what to do... he froze.

Arrin cried out for Kelas, and Tessa turned to watch things go very badly for the nomad against the fiery-haired valkyrie. The enemy then turned on Arrin, and wounded him deeply.

"Kamilla, run. You have to survive, and it's clear I can't protect you and everyone. Run, hide, and don't look back. I'm sorry it's come to this."

Tessa then stood, wiped the tears from her eyes, and rushed to Arrin's aid.

Viveka tried to stand up but was badly wounded. Susann was laid out right next to her whinnying in pain.

Viveka: Urgh ... dammit ... he was still looking after h-her ugh.

Hearing her friend's voice, Kamilla forced herself onto her feet while crying out in pain. She'd never been so badly wounded in all her life but if she was going to survive she would have to force it out of her mind and press on.

His fury unable to be spent on that damned swordsman, Derek moved over to take another lance cavalier down. He landeda a solid hit, but misjudged the angle of strike and got knocked off of Ann. As the cavalier was to be finished off, his foe got impaled through the Chest.

Another Lance Cavalier arrived, and Alf roared in anger, slashing violently at the man. The man stabbed him in the stomach but Alf's berserk rage combined with his reflexes had him immediately swing back very fast, chopping off the unlucky man's head.

Heinz coughed slightly when the cavalier pulled the sword from his body. Should've expected that attack, wiping the blood off his mouth with his left hand. Gripping a dagger in his other hand, Heinz threw it shakily, the weapon bouncing back against the man's armor (+0 dmg). He scowled as the cavalier prepared to charge again, throwing another knife with his other, stronger arm (+1 dmg Link). The enemy cavalier stumbled mid-stride, falling from his horse into a heap on the ground.

The mercenary pressed his bloodied hand to his wound. Might be a good idea to get healed before I attack again, looking around warily. Letting myself be caught off guard like that...

Yes, the boy had to live through that. But--Luc grasped his chest--the hits he had sustained from the monk's magic were not so easy to take.

Using the brilliant strategy of charging in and screaming like a madman, Alf rushed towards Althea, striking towards her but missing and got slashed in the chest before the Valkyrie gouged out his eye!

Falling down screaming in pain, Alf clutched his face, rocking and giving out some inhuman growls before falling. He tried to stand up but failed and collapsed.

After Charlotte healed her, Alex decided to attempt to shorten the combat, by attacking the leader. Unfortunately, bloodloss weakened her aim, and the woman promptly got nailed by a Lightbrand. As she fell, she saw a man, who looked so familiar...
"Br..o...th...er..?" she said, before being swallowed by darkness.

Kelas lay still, struggling to breathe despite her injuries. Arrin was dimly aware of being healed, and finally found his voice: "Elthunder," he said quietly, concentrating, and released the spell.

Althea was quick to respond, and Arrin staggered under another attack.

Arrin fell, rapidly losing blood. Some unknown force enabled him to hold on, though, and he retained consciousness, watching carefully to see if he could at least a last surprise attack in.

As the battle with the reformists began, Aiya swooped down towards the leader. Hoping to ambush the woman and take her out of the fight, Aiya swung with a mighty shout and a powerful divebomb.

A resounding clang shook the air, as the Zweihander was deflected by a sphere of light magic about the woman.

"What the hell-?" Aiya was unable to complete her query, as a massive magical blast wrought of the light brand struck her body.

The magical assault seared her form, as she fell into shock and collapsed upon the ground with a shrill cry, and a weak thud.
