Let us see here. On one hand, we have Lena. <3 The cleric that any sane person uses. Who are your alternatives? Maria and Wrys? Ha.

I'll kick us off with some good old base stats.

Lena:
LVL 3
16 HP
0 STR
2 MAG
7 SKl
8 SPD
8 LUK
3 DEF
7 RES
Staff C

Now I'll admit her durability sucks right off the bat. There's several enemies in her joining chapter that can outright one shot her. 2 Magic isn't exactly winning any awards, especially since a vulneary can end up healing more.

Wendel:
LVL 1
22 HP
3 STR
4 MAG
2 SKL
12 SPD
1 LUK
5 DEF
5 RES

When you're losing skill, resistance, and magic to an unpromoted cleric, you know you have a problem.

So, a level 3 cleric that needs to be protected all the time, vs a sage past his prime. Anything Wendel can do, Lena can do or better. Sure, it takes 7 levels for her to match his magic. It also takes 5 for him to even grow a point in it. Wendal will also be gaining exp horribly since he's promoted. Staves will give him around 5 exp, and he's probably going to just be doing that the whole time since we want that combat exp for others. Lena can just use Mend to out-do whatever meager healing Wendel's trying to handle. Especially since this is H5, since I've seen people do it on normal, Lena's staff spamming can get her to level 20 by the first seal. Now, I'll even see what a Lena promoted at level 10 looks like.

25/23 HP
1 STR
9/6 MAG
13/10 SKL
13/10 SPD
19/12 LUK
5 DEF
16/12 RES

That's mighty pitiful either level, since Wendel won't be much higher than level 3-4 by chapter 10. Chances are he'll only have gone up in resistance or HP too.

Let's look at more things Lena has over him. C staves, vs B tomes, D staves. Yeah, yeah, yeah Excalibur. Let's see the number of enemy fliers we're wasting it on before chapter 10. And all the boss generals and armors are easily taken care of with armorslayer + hammer.

Lena and Wendel can both use Barrier, Mend, and Heal. But then chapter 6 rolls around and Lena gains yet another point. Physic. Lena now can heal anyone anywhere. I mean, still probably not healing much. But when she's on the other side of the map and you get a bad dodge, you're gonna want her to have it. Second, Wendel could use it. But we can't reclass him. Good luck building weapon ranks quickly, Now, I seem to be missing a big elephant in the room. Oh, right.

Let's name Lena's number one point (or should it be points?). Warp. Yup. Warp. Lena can use it from base. And we even get 4 of them. In fact, if we fly/Warp Caeda over to the boss in 5, and do the same to Marth one turn later, Wendel won't even see any action. All he's bringing is a Thunder and Barrier. Sure the Thunder is nice, but it's only one point above Fire (which we can forge) or we can buy some in about 3 chapters. And Lena can use the Barrier as well.

And another thing. What's that staff you get around chapter 20? The one that doesn't take any training for Lena? The one with 12 uses? The one only she can use? Hammerne? Yeah, point Lena. I'd love to see Wendel try to use it. LIke repairing a great Wing Spear forge. Or Excaliber that apparently is so dear to him. Or Aura. Or any of the other A rank weapons.

Speaking of A rank weapons. Aura has 5 more might. And with Wendel's low magic, that's a lot. Unless you want him to hold out for a critical or something...
