Though VIII is a far ways down in my order of favourite DQ/W's out there, I must admit, I am quite in love with this song.

Musashi is fantastic. My favorite parts are the boss fights, all of them, I tend to love any game which gives you a different track for each boss battle. You reminding me of it is making me think about playing it again, it ages well and is good for replays. I never played Saga Frontier II, mainly because the first one was so easy to get lost in. Maybe I should give II a try. This is my favorite track from Brave Fencer Musashi, though the OST is excellent. This, along with SaGa Frontier II, is one of Square's more under-appreciated titles in my opinion.
Too bad I hear that Samurai Legends was mediocre. And Threads of Fate, another 3d platformer, was, aside from the fairly nice storyline, pretty mediocre in comparison to Musashi.
Anyway,

The whistling foggy noise in that song is a lot like the music effects in Metroid Prime's Phendrana Drifts.http://www.youtube.c...1&v=H7v-fNrzhms

ocremix has always been pretty awesome. They still have their streaming service (as well as game music in general) over at rainwave.cc.

I always found the most amusing part about this final boss is the fact that my martial artist can pick up a tangible computer virus and slam it to the ground.

It's actually a mix of FF4's Theme of Love and some song from Chrono Trigger, and it's fairly interesting.
