I've given Skarm my 3 Rare Candies, but sine I had to restart my browser, I lost those levels. Pretty much he just got a shitton beefier, got some more Atk. Actually, found another one.
Skarmory level 34: +3 HP and De, +1 everything else.
Now has.
98 HP, 60 Atk, 111 Def, 35 Sp Atk, 52 Sp Def, 58 Speed
Dat Def. Replaced Air Cutter with Steel Wing.
Tohjo Falls
Waterfall is needed to traverse this cave. Also, a Moon Stone in case you're crazy enough to wait this long with a Moon Stone mon.
Route 27
Here to greet us is a Cooltrainer with plenty of Bulba-mons. Fly takes care of Bulbasaur easy. Ivysaur goes down as well. What of Venusaur? Alost. Steel Wing finishes it off. The old lady just outside in a house will give you Sandstorm if you show her a mon that is trusting in you. Not much use really, but it's there. Past the next river is another Ace Trainer with errrrrr-out goes Magmar to face the Magneton. I should mention that trainers on this path don't mess around. They will throw the book at you. Magneton goes down simply to a Fire Punch after it got hit with a Thunderbolt. Next up is derpy Quagsire. Out goes Skarm, see what Fly does since I have no real quick way of dealing with Quag on my team. It misses a Yawn and hits me with Water Gun on the way down. Nearly did half health with Fly. If one thing about this amoeba annoys me it's that it's unreasonably bulky. It Yawns me, but it goes down to Steel Wing. Skarm falls asleep. Next up is lol Exeggcute. I wake up only after one Confusion and Fly him, executing the exeggcute.
Skarmory level 35: +3 HP and Def, +1 Sp Atk, +2 everything else.
On hte boardwalk is another of the many Ace Trainers wanting their name in blazing lights at the Pokemon Stadium at Inigo Plateau. He has a uhh...Level 35 Mareep. I switch into Magmar who takes one hell of a Discharge. Another one kills him, and Ember did only a bit more than half. Don't mess wth Discharge folks. Gatr comes in and finishes with Surf (yes, I'm that scared of Static). A Revive is hidden in the grass, and use it to revitalize Magmar. There also happens to be a Destiny Knot you can find here. Pretty useless item. Psychic up next (finally, breaking the long line of Aces), and he has a Starmie. Starmie is faster and off the bat uses Confuse Ray. I switch out to Gatr, since I don't wanna punch myself in the face around Starmie. Still faster and Confuse Rays, but Gatr is a far stabler mon against this thing. Crunch hits anways and he eats himself some fish food. Exeggcute comes out again and dies to Fly. Girafarig is next, and I'm not really scared of it. Seeing it's level, I know it can't really know anything deadly. It IS faster than me however, though Psybeam doesn't do a lot-of course, it confuses me with that beam. I snap out of confusion mid flight luckily enough. It beams me again and I decide to Roost. Steel Wing finishes it.
The next boardwalk has even more Acetrainers, and this one has a Growlithe. I switch to my ever so dependable Gatr, who takes a Flamethrower like a champ. It does not take the incoming Waterfall as well.
Feraligatr level 39: +1 Sp Atk, +3 HP and Speed, +2 everything else.
Staryu next. It Bubblebeams Skarmory, and it surprisingly hurts pretty bad. In goes Heracross since I fear the next Beam might actually kill Skarm. Air Ace finishes it easy. Nidorina next, and I'm not really scared of it so I Roost. I start using Steel Wing too, and though it does half I DO get a nice Def boost out to take even less damage. It goes down easy.
Route 26
Fisherman stops me on my treck, having a Qwilfish. Oh no, 'mma scuuuured. Fly hits pretty hard while it's Water Gun doesn't. Steel Wing finishes.
Skarmory level 36: +3 Def, +1 Sp Atk and Sp Def, +2 everything else. Seaking next. It uses Aqua Ring while I'm flying, and eats a Fly surprisingly well. Water Pulse hits and of course confuses me. Skarm musters through it and uses Steel Wing. Doesn't kill, but Seaking is dumb as a rock. Skarm hits himself and Water Pulse finally kills. In the lea-wow, still alive. Ok, now it's dead. In goes Magmar. Magmar misses the kill by like a blip, but survives the Pulse. He musters through the confusion as well. Qwilfish last. I keep Magmar in before switching out to LUGIAAAAAAAAAAAA. Revenge fails to register as damage. Extrasensory then hits it hard enough to bend the dimensions and throw it through a dimensional door.
I use a Revive on Skarm and a Hyper Potion on Magmar. Before the Psychic, Magmar facs off against a Wild Arbok out of pure luck.
Magmar level 36: +1 Def, +2 Sp Def and Speed, +3 everything else. LAVA PLUME!? Hell yeah! Getting rid of the now obsolete Ember.
Skarmory goes back in the lead against the Psychic with an Espeon. Psybeam hits, and deals nearly half. Psybeam misses as I Fly and hit it hard. Hyper Potion used. 2 more Psybeams taken and of course confused at the worst of times, though I muster through and finish it with a Steel Wing. Nearby is a house that informs you of where you can find the item family day by day to get holdable elemental boosting items. Also nearby is a resting place. I take the chance to heal up since Skarm and Mag are pretty torn up. Up next is another Ace Trainer with a Pikachu. Great. Out goes Magmar while it uses Double Team. But the BITCH DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT MY LAVA PLUME. Needless to say, it gets blown up. Blastoise next. WHAT IS GOOD, BLASTOISE. Man, he was my favorite gen 1 starter. It's also...Faster...Than Skarmory???????? Ok, I'll buy that. It rain dances, so I'm VERY happy I used Fly there. Surf hits me eventually though, and it huuuuuurrrts-t critkills me. Raikou decides enough is enough, comes n and Sparks it, toppling it over.
*Goes back to heal* Stupid crit.
Yet another damn Ace Trainer, this guy with a Victreebel. I fly, avoiding a Razor Leaf while it gets bombed. Flaereon is not so easy for Sarm however, so in goes Magmar. I use Lava Plume but forgot it has Flash Fire. Uh Oh. It luckily only Sand Attacks while I use Faint Attack, and it Bites. Bite does 30 damage, which surprises me. It uses Bite again, and then falls to Faint Attacks. Kingler next, a mon that Magmar does not deal well with, so Skarmory goes back out. I Fly, but unfortunately it has Protect. Steel Wing barely scratches it, so I take a bubblebeam before switching out to Raikou. Spark hits and downs it. YET ANOTHER ACE TRAINER IN THE WAY. He has a Parasext though, so Fly makes it free.
Skarmory level 37: +3 HP and Atk, +3 Def, +1 Sp Atk and Speed, +2 Sp Def.
Vaporeon? Well I do a switc in and out with Raikou because Raikou doesn't really care. It Surfs, but whatever. Doesn't even do a third. Spark takes another life-or it survives by the skin of it's teeth. QA kills. Golduck next, so I just keep in Raikou. NOW Spark takes another life. Last Ace Trainer has a Rapidash. I switch out to Feraligatr who takes a missed attack, but justbefore the Waterfall it just manages a Will o Wisp. Now it starts Stomping, first hit a crit until Surf finally kills. Flaafy next, so I switch out to Magmar to blow it up with a Lava Plume. He succeeds. Ok, got pretty beat up there. I'll go back to the healing house before...Oh hey Max Elixer. Anyways, before...
Victory Road
My favorite of the Victory Roads. Why? No trainers. After a grueling amount of annoyances, the fact that this plae can be breezed through with Repels is a nice way to chill yourself out before the Elite 4. Besides, Victory Road always sucks. Oh rght, Strength. I had thrown the one man I had know it into a box. Oh well, I teach it to Magmar seeing that Confuse Ray is useless as it turns out. Potion found on the way...Bit late for that, don't ya think? Rather annoying dungeon still, but nothing like oh let's say Gen 4's twisted HM heavy one, or gen 5 with t's very annoying pokemon in the wild (namely, Durant since it's so damn fast and hits so hard). I actually get bored at some point and take on a Golbat. Not a lot happened.
Magmar level 37: +1 Def, +3 HP and Sp Atk, +2 everything else.
Full Restore get. Ultra Ball get. HP Up get. Rare Candy get. Given Rare Candy to Skarmory.
Skarmory level 38: +3 HP and Def, +2 Atk and Def, +1 everything else.
It's then finally I'm interrupted. One last man to deal with before the Plateau.
Rival Fight: Silver
Sneasal first. Faint Attack hurts quite a bit but Lava Plume hurts more. Golbat next. I want to make this as surgical as possible, so Raikou comes out to Spark. Does not kill, but it doesn't do much in return with Bite, nor does Silver have the brains to pack potions. Meganium next, so out again goes Magmar. It uses Reflect (how fast is this thing?), so lucky me that Lava Plume ignores that. Petal Dance hits, resisting and not doing enough while also adding a Burn to insult. Haunter comes next, so out goes Heracross since Magmar's hurting pretty bad. It uses Curse cause he's a moron, so Shadow Claw offs it easy. Kadabra next, so out comes Skarm to laugh at his face. It uses Psybeam, which crits and doesn't even do half while Skarm flies. He attempts a Disable in a rather cartoonish fashion, and it doesn't kill because Reflect was up. He withdraws Kadabra to bring out Magneton. You cheating bastard, NPCs aren't supposed to switch. Heracross comes out-oh, Magnet Pull. Bastard. So, I Roost to rid myself of my Flying type, and it Thunder Waves me. Supersonic comes next, because he clearly wants to torture me instead of actually do anything. I hit myself while it Sparks, and even though it hits weaness it doesn't actually do that much. Steel Wing keeps hitting myself though, and that poses a problem. Finally I snap out of confusion...To be paralyzed. Spark doesn't quite kill, but I get paralyzed anyways. He then insults me with a Magnet Bomb. Magmar comes in, pissed as hell, and exploes it's brains out witha Lava Plume.
Magmar level 38: +1 Def, +2 everything else.
Kadabra comes out, so I troll him back with Heracross. It is faster though, and it Psybeams me. Lucky I got Sp Def, so I Shadow Claw and rip his face off. That's it Silver. Get out of my face.
Indigo Plateau
I heal up, sell stuff and load up. I buy myself enough to have 50 Hyper Potions, 50 Revives, 40 Full Restores and close to 10 Full Heals. I will never deal with hard times ever again.
Bring it, Elite 4!
Elite 4: Will
Starts with a Xatu. I lead with Feraligatr, and t...U Turns? Out comes...Jynx? Crunch nearly one shots it, so I Crunch t again after it gets Full Restored. It uses Psychic, and it critkills me. Of course it would. In comes Raikou to QA it so it stops being an annoying bitch.
Raikou level 41: +3 HP, Sp Atk and Speed, +2 everything else.
Xatu up next...Ok, cool! Spark hits, nearly one shtting whle it Confuse Rays. Spark hits through the confusion anyways and trumps Xatu. Nice try, Will. Exeggutor? Magmar's all over that. Lava Plume hits, actually one shotting it without a crit. Get some, man! Magmar, you're a boss. Slowbro next, so Raikou comes back out to play. Spark hits, does about a quarter while it paralyzes, using Amnesia. THIS AINT GEN 2! YOU EAT YOUR SPARKS LKE A GOOD BOY. Now it starts Cursing. Ok, that's more concerning. He has no Full Restores though, so the next Spark kills. Another Xatu? Will, you scrub. Spark hits, it eats a Sitrus and uses Confuse Ray. I hit myself, and it uses Psychic. I shrug and just decide to use a Full Restore, because I have more supplies than god at this point. Psychic hits and lowers my Sp Def, but Spark lands and kills. The Thunder King does not appreciate this bad hospitality.
Elite 4: Koga
Man, getting a promotion. Your intro animation is also slick.
But Koga, we need to talk. You're using an Airiados. I just Lava Plumed it, and it's causing me to worry. Muk up next, your very annoying Muk. Lugia gets in there for an Extrasensory to deal about half while it Minimizes. It also has Black Sludge. Wow, Elite 4 using actual items. Extrasensory from Lugia does not care, however. Foretress is up next, and if I were setting up spikes and stealth rocks, it would be wise to rapid spin, but this ain't competitive play so Lava Plume just eats it. Crobat comes out next, so out goes my trusty Raikou. I do know however that Crobat is FAST. It uses Double Team to my annoyance, and actually takes less than half from Spark while doing a number with Poison Fang AND I miss my Spark AND I get Toxic'd. Full Restore used. Poison Fang hits again, and I attempt another Spark, figuring it has a Berry. My intuition is correct. It also recovers enough that it doesn't coax Koga into using a potion. Down goes the annoying bugger.
Raikou level 42: +3 HP and Sp Atk, +2 everything else.
His classic Venomoth comes out last, so my Magmar decides to say hi. It misses Toxic while I light it up with Lava Plume. I do not kill it, so it uses a Full Restore. I decide maybe Physical is a better route, and it's about equal. Another Full Restore, so I Punch it again. I crit and kill it, not that much else could have differed.
Magmar level 39: +1 Def, +3 Sp Atk, +2 everything else.
Koga, you are FRAAAEEEE
Boss: Bruno
I start with Heracross actually. still have Ariel Ace after all, and Hitmontop is highly annoying. Air Ace deals about a quarter to a third while it Counters. Ow. I unleash a Close Combat and I fail to impress. It Digs, so I switch out to Lugia now that the coast is clear. Potion used on Hitmontop so I hit it with an Extrasensory. Critkill. Onix next, so out goes Heracross again. CloseCombat hits, dealing death with a crit (not sure if necessary).
Heracross level 38: +1 Def, +2 Sp Atk and Speed, +3 everything else.
Hitmonlee comes next, so out goes Skarmory. It...Swaggers me? Ok. So I'm confused and hit myself. It then uses Blaze Kick. Urgh. I hit myself again, so I pretty much just gave him my Skarmory. Lugia comes out, sick of it's shit so I Aeroblast it. Get that Leaf Blower out-WOW it doesn't kill? Blaze Kick crits too. Annoying little bastard goes down to an Extrasensory. Hitmonchan is next, and I Extrasensory. Ice Punch hits. Does an annoying amount of damage, but Extrasensory kills it. Machamp comes out last. Aeroblast hits that sucker and my mouth drops when I see it did just a bit over half. Rock Slide hits and doesn't kill. Aeroblast hits and finishes it off. So. That fight was ow.
Hyper Potions used on revived mons and on the injured ones.
Elite 4: Karen
Umbreon opens the fight, so my Heracross unleashes a brutal barrage with Close Combat, which stunningly again does not ill. It uses Faint Attack, which I resist and doesn't do a lot. Brick Break finishes the job. Murkrow is next, so out comes Raikou. Spark hits, and it nearly kills while also paralyzing. It only responds with a critical Faint Attack (Why is everything critting me today?). She uses a Full Restore while I QA, then Spark it agan for the kill. Houndoom next, and my Feraligatr is hankering for a helping of hellhound. It uses a Nasty Plot while I hit it with a Waterfall, which critkills. Vileplum is next, so out goes Heracross. Aerial Ace deals about a quarter while it uses Stun Spore. Petal Dance? Hurts a tad, but not enough to make me worry. Air Ace kills it eventually. Gengar is last...Oh gawd, I did not prepare for him. I send out Feraligatr to Crunch it while barely evading a Focus Blast. It Spites me before Feraligatr helps himself to some ghost.
Feraligatr level 40: +1 Sp Def and Speed, +2 At and Def, +3 Sp Atk, +4 HP.
No casualties. This Elite 4 is super free. Full Restore used on Heracross, Hyper Potion used on Raikou. I give Feraligatr the Nevermeltice. Now for someone who isn't free.
Champion: Lance
Ahh, such lovely golden halls.
I lead with Skarmory against the legend himself. I don't see Skarm being much use anyways so I just decide to lay down as many Spikes as I can, or at least Stall it (I just remembered, all his mons are flying), so I fly to avoid a Waterfall, then tae the next and Skarm falls. Raikou then comes in, safe from Intmidation. Spark hits, and to my utter disbelief it doesn't kill. It Paralyzed, but that doesn't really help. Spark hits again after the potion, and another delivers death to the unbelievably mighty and beasty Gyarados. Dragonite is called immediately to bring an end to this threat, so surprise him with Feraligatr. Outrage hits me, and it hits me haaaaarrrd. Damn near kills me while I use Ice Fang which does about half, and it uses a Berry. That is NOT 40 HP, bullshit. I let Feraligatr fall to this insanity since there's no way I could possibly survive it. In comes Raikou. Spark hits, and does just enough damage while also Paralyzing. I set up Reflect. It uses Outrage. Even behind Reflect, that does more than half on Raikou. Outrage kills. Feraligatr comes out and takes down the mighty beast-I DIDN'T KILL IT!?! Fine, eat an Ice Fang, seeing as you don't have any more potions and paralysis stunned you. His next Dragonite comes out and it misses a Thunder. Thunder hits the next turn though. Magmar comes out, prepared to offer himself to this beast so that Feraligatr may come in. Revived, it misses a Dragon Rush, so I Hyper Potion while Magmar gets his shit pushed in. Thunder hits as Feraligatr comes back in. It does not crit, but it one shots me anyways. Heracross now comes in, prepared to take on the gods. It gets bombed with a Dragon Rush and gets one shotted. Feraligatr comes back in. Dragon Rush hits. It kills, wow. Lugia comes in. I Max Revive Feraligatr. It hits with a Thunder Wave. I Revive Raikou. It hits Lugia with a Thunder. Does not even do half. I potion Raikou. I use an X Special while it misses a Thunder, and that is before it UNLEASHES THE FUCKING HYPER BEAM. Still does not kill, so I give Lugia a Full Restore. Aeroblast hits and it kills.
Lugia level 46: +2 Sp Atk and Speed, +4 Sp Def, +3 everything else.
Aerodactyl next. It uses Rock Slide while I set up Rain Dance. No way I can survive another Rock Slide, so that is good for Feraligatr. It doesn't miss the next Rock Slide. Feraligatr comes out next. It hits with a Thunder Fang to my surprise, but doesn't even do half. Waterfall hits, dealing instant death.
Feraligatr level 41: +1 Sp Atk, +2 Sp Def and Speed, +3 everything else.
In the quiet rain, another Dragonite challenges me. It kills, and I was above half health, to show how ridiculously powerful that thing is. Raikou comes in. I Revive Feraligatr, and it misses a Dragon Rush. I revive Lugia. It misses another Dragon Rush. I heal up while it keeps missing, after the first Hyper Potion it lolThunder Waves me. Potion used on Lugia. Dragon Rush finally hits. I use a Full Restore to get rid of Paralysis, to waste more Dragon Rush and to set up Reflect. I don't get that Reflect though because apparently this Dragonite has more than 100 Speed. Feraligatr comes n and takes a Thunder Wave. I get Paralyzed whle it unleashes a Hyper Beam. It doesn't kill, and I Ice Fang. I finish it while it's recharging. Charizard comes out last, so I send out Lugia. I set up Rain Dance while it uses...Shadow Claw? Ok Lance, you fucking PSychic. Have some RAIN DANCE HYDRO PUUUUUUUUUUMP!! It doesn't kill, so I finish with AEROBLAST. An epic end to an epic fight.
All my mons were absolutely perfect for taking down the Elite 4. Could have actually done with Avalanche to one shot Dragonites, since they're faster than me anyways. Only problematic one would be the Thunder one, which I'm dependent on it missing or Lugia anyways. I was actually surprised for how useless Heracross was here. He was good against Karen, but that's not exactly hard. Was hoping to abuse Air Ace against Bruno too, but he prepared with Blaze Kick, Fire Punch and Counter. I'm also laughing at how Raikou was super effective against Will even though he only had Spark. Magmar also helped Koga look free. Skarm was just kinda...Not there.
So there you have it folks, now the champion of Johto! Next up will be Kanto's gyms! Taking a break for now.

Now, it's time to head for Kanto! I Fly to Olivine and take my tickets to port.
S.S. Aqua
An old man stops me and tells me I must help find his lost girl. Fair enough. First up is a Fire Breather, and he starts with a Koffing. Heracross uses Shadow Claw, it uses Gyro Ball. More Claws and is answered with more balls. One last Ace finishes the fight. Flaereon next and I just Close Combat it because I know they're made of paper.
Heracross level 39: +3 Atk, +1 Sp Atk, +2 everything else.
Skarm now to face the last Koffing. Steel Wing denies more damage. A Hiker is next and I switch out to Magmar to Lava Plume his Bronzor. Golem next, so I switch out to Skarm. Steel Wing hits, and does about a third. Rock Blast hits, and actually does some sizeable damage. 5 reps, and it does more than half. I miss a Steel Wing. Skarmory actually goes down to this. Heracross comes out and Brick Breaks it. I heal up at my cabin and head downstairs.
I find a Juggler downstairs vomiting violently, and he throws a Mr Mime at me. Rather Rude. It uses Substitute to annoy me. Steel Wing ills the Substitute and Steel Wing gives me a Def boost. Psychic hits, and Steel Wing nails him. Still no kill, and he switches out to Magmar. Steel Wing hits and does about a quarter. He's faster (wow, this game is not friendly to Slarm). Out goes my own Magmar who crits with Strength. Machoke comes out. I Lava Plume it, and I burn it. It Focuses, so a kill is easy. Faint Attack easily finishes off the weakened Mime. I go back to heal and go back downstairs.
Magmar level 40: +2 Def and Speed, +3 everything else.
A Sailor comes out at me, and knowing my luck he will have a Manectric. He has a Makuhita however, so I Fly it and avoid a Close Combat. Fly one shots it. Raticate up next. It uses Double Edge, and I Fly because I fear the Super Fang. Luckily I come back down and all it does is another Double Edge. Steel Wing finishes. The Sailor nearby tells me I need to find his layabout replacement. recall seeing some dude snoozing upstairs, so I go to find him. He is insulted I woke him up and implied he's lazy, so the moron decides to fight the champ. Machp out first, so I fly and he still hits with a Submission. Of course, NoGuard. Machoke next, which I Fly again. He hits me with a Cross Chop however, and brings me back tumbling to earth. Heracross next, and I Air Ace his annoying No Guard mons. Next is...Psyduck? Well I break it's brick and call it a day. I send the layabout back to his post, heal up and head back downstairs. Picnicker wondering about in the engine room, and she has a stupid herpy derpy Seaking. I Fly, and i uses Flail. I hit it and it uses Aqua Ring. It's not a threat at all. Now to play hide and seek with this dumb kid. Brb.
...
Done. Metal Coat get.
Vermillion City
Beautiful place at night. The music on top of it slays me. They shouldhave kept the truck.
I see Suicune and Eusine Sherlock Holmes finally realizes the pattern that maybe Suicune likes water. While Surfing to the gym (since fuck Cut), I run into a high level Tentacool in the water. I kill it because this is why.
Skarmory level 39: +3 Def, +1 Sp Atk, +2 everything else. I don't bother with Air Slash.
Vermillion Gym
I have no real way to deal with Electricity. This is gonna be a trial. I lead with Heracross. I dual a Rocker and a Juggler at the same time while that classic music remix plays. Heracross and Magmar. Electrode and Jolteon. They are both faster than me. Electrode uses a piss weak Swift while olteon kinda does damage with Shock Wave to Magmar, Magmar Punching t to burn it while Electrode nearly dies to Close Combat. Jolteon gets healed with Shock Wave while it unleashes it's own on Magmar, Brick Break not managing to kill it while Lava Plume finishes off Electrode AND Jolteon AND Heracross. Uhhh, oops. Out goes Feraligatr. Voltorb and Electrode out. Shock Wave hits Feraligatr, and it doesn't even do half. Voltorb uses Shock Wave too, nearly killing. Fire Punch hits Electrode and Waterfall finishes it off. One last Electrode. Shock Wave hits Feraligatr and finishes him, and Voltorb's Shock Wave fails to kill Magmar, Fire Punch hitting Electrode and Static Paralyzing Magmar. Out comes Raikou. Raikou's Quick Attack hits Electrode but fails to kill, Static paralyzing me. Swift finishes off Magmar. Swift on both of them, still does piss damage to Raikou. Lugia now out. Raikou suffers Paralysis while Electrode uses Swift and Lugia kills Voltorb wth an Extrasensory. Not quite, jesus christ team. You beat Lance! Raikou is paralyzed again while Shock Wave hits Lugia for not actually that much damage, and Voltorb goes down to another Extrasensory. Magnemite comes out last. QA FINALLY comes out and finishes that damn Electrode off. Lugia hits a Hydro Pump and mauls Magnemite.
Yeahh uhhh, brb, going to heal because I almost got rolled by a team of Electrodes. Gentleman has a Pikachu with Discharge, and evena crit doesn't manage half health. Of course, I get Paralyzed and fail to just blow the little fucker up. I get Double Teamed on, then Light Screen and I miss, RAAGH!! I misclick Brick Break, DAMMIT!! Oh, but it had Light Screen up! EAT it Pickachu! Electrike is next, and it uses Shock Wave. Close Combat murders it.
Heracross level 40: +3 HP and Atk, +2 everything else.
Flaafy next. Close Combat also messes it up. I use a Full Restore, and now to sift through garbage.
...
Got it. I always thought that puzzle was dumb.
Boss: Lt. Surge
Raichu up first, and it is a MONSTER. Shock Wave hits, so I hit it with a Close Combat. It uses Double Team, and I smack it with another Close Combat, since I know I'm safe. Electrode next, and out comes Magmar. It uses Double Team, and Lava Plume hits for nearly half. I Faint Attack while it sets up a Light Screen. It uses Shock Wave last as I unleash a Fire Punch, it's Shockwave only doing a third. Fire Punch brings it down.
Magmar level 41: +1 Def, +2 everything else. I replace Lava Plume with Flamethrower, as it's just the same thing with more power. Another Electrode comes out, so I Fire Punch it. I miss because it is spamming Double Team because it wants to make this fight even dumber. I land a crit to make Surge waste a Potion at least. Fire Punch hits again, and it's Light Screen wears off. It misses a Charge Beam while I light it up with Flamethrower. Magneton next. It is somehow faster than me (Magneton, you're supposed to be slow!) and like the rest of Surge's gay-ass team, it has Double Team. However, it gets one shotted by Flamethrower. Electabuzz is last, and it sets up a Light Screen. Flamethrower does like a quarter. Electabuzz decides then it's a good time to...Low Kick me. It ends up burning itself while I get paralyzed. Classic Magmar/Electabuzz matchup. It eats a berry and hurts from it's burn. I use up a Full Restore, and it uses QA. Rather non standard moveset if I may say so. Shock Wave is then thrown out, and it hits pretty hefty, but so does MY FIST. I land a crit, but it wouldn't have mattered. Magmar, you are a boss.
Magmar level 42: +3 Speed, +2 everything else.
Gives me Shockwave too! Finally, an electric TM. I heal up and break. Rather annoying that segment is. However from here, should be rather smooth sailing.
S.S. Aqua

Route 6
Lying out and about just happens to be Silver Wind! Would be nice if any bug types worth a damn uhhh existed. Picnicker happens to be wondering about with a Cherubi. Twins with the Plusle and Minun combo, and Close Combat takes care of half of that. The Minun charges while Sarmry simply Steel Wings. Brick Break finishes the fight. A Camper is between me and Saffron. All he has is a pathetic Slakoth. He uses Accupressure to sharply boost his Sp Def. Clearly effective against Skarm.
Sapphron City
Well, let's just get right to it.
Saffron Gym
Such a hi tech design.
Medium comes after me. Alas, my old nemesis Bronzor comes for me. I switch out to Magmar, and he...Err...Skill Swaps. So now I levitate and and he has flame body. I shrug the weirdness off, I played Earthbound. Flamethrower kills it. Hypno comes out next, so back in goes Skarm. It is somehow faster, and I don't get how the hell it can be. It's a fucking Hypno. It Swaggers me after it Skill Swaps and I fly into it. I hit myself at first and he gets a free Psybeam, so I just Steel Wing him. Next Medium has a Slowpoke. Fly avoids a Psychic, and..Wow, barely a third. Slowpoke has FAT bulk. It tries to Disable, but I grow wings and fly away before it can catch me. Psychic finally hits, and it does kinda decent damage. Steel Wing finishes. Slowbro I cannot deal, so out goes Raikou. Spark does some damage while Slowbro derps about doing something that's not important, but then it Slacks Off. NOOO!! Oh, it Yawned me. Then it starts using Psychic. Full Restore used. I keep Sparking it until something happens. Namely it gets paralyzed when it's in the red. I keep Sparking the hell out of it. It tries to recover, but paralysis finally takes it....Almost. Gawd, this thing is finding new ways to piss me off. It keeps Slacking Off while I keep trying to Spark it's soul. Finally it gets paralyzed again and after ELEVEN SPARKS it finally dies. Goddamn.
Raikou level 43: +3 HP and Speed, +2 everything else. I get CRUNCH, which I forget that shit Roar move for.
I use a Hyper Potion on Raikou. Psychic up next, and he has a Kadabra. expect this thing to be faster at least, and it attempts a Disable on me, twice no less so I hit it with a free Fly and one shot it.
Skarmory level 40: +3 HP and Def, +2 Atk and Speed, +1 Sp Atk and Sp Def
Girafarig next and it Skill Swaps while I Roost. Stupid fool. It then uses Psychic, which all things considered it needed a crit to do not sub-par damage, but it also annoys me by hitting a Sp Def proc, so now I have to switch out. Raikou goes out because he is the best wingman. Next Psychic has a Mr. Mime. I attempt a Roost while it throws a Psychic and fails to kill. It keeps trying to blast me while I keep Roosting. It uses Reflect while I fly up, and while I do reduced damage, it will miss it's next attack...Unfortunately I miss mine. It Psychics me, so I use Steel Wing. It uses Psychic again and I Fly because at this point, not much Skarm can do.Skarm lands a Fly and LOL I get a crit and kill it. SUCK IT Mr. Mime! Exeggcute is up next. I somehow fail to one shot this thing with STAB FLY and it killsme. Out goes Heracross to get a final shot in. Exeggcute again, so I just keep Heracross in. It misses a Hypnosis, so I kill with 2 Air Aces.
Boss: Sabrina
I have Raikou in the lead, mostly do to Speed and it's new Crunch. I wish she would keep her old outfit. She looks so generic now. Espeon is out first and OH GOD IT'S A LEVEL 53 PSYCHIC BLAST FROM ESPEON AAAGH!! It's faster than me anyways and absolutely destroys me. Ok, out comes Feraligatr. It takes the Psychic worse, and does not manage to kill, but I DO get a Def lowering. I waste a potion, but otherwise I don't kill. In goes Magmar. Psychic hurts like hell, but Magmar toughs it out and busts out a Faint Attack which kills. Magmar, you are boss. Mr Mime next, and it's faster so it kills me with Psychic. Lugia comes out because I'm out of options since everyone else gets outsped and demolished. Aeroblast lands a crit while his Psychic does shitty damage. One more Aeroblast takes him out. Alakazam is last. Man, only 3 and it feels like it's been a brutal assbeating. It Reflects (...) and I throw out an Aeroblast. It doesn't even do a quarter. His Psychic lands a crit, and I unleash yet another Aeroblast, making it waste it's berry. Once more, Aeroblast comes out. I use a Hyper Potion. Ether used to restore Aeroblast, since that Alakazam is murdering anything else on my team. It lets loose one last Psychic while it nearly kills me with a crit (That got my heart rate going), and Aeroblast ends this shootout.
Marsh Badge (You would think this would be the Poison gym's badge), along with TM Skill Swap get! Well, that assbeating totally wasn't worth it. I heal up and head north, much as I don't want to...
Cerulean City
Reason being there's a problem with electricity going on, and this is a whole quest I'm too lazy to do.
...
I'mma start that Black playthrough now. I'll still come back to this, but Kanto just feels optional, and I'm just super-rarin' to play me some Pokemon Black.
