So it's been a couple years since we did this last (apart from my random site/forum related polls in FFTF) and I thought it'd be a good idea to see what's going on in people's heads now. We've a lot of new members, and a lot of old members have left for greener pastures.

Since 2009 a fair amount of new features and rules have been added or edited, as well as several new skins, member badges etc. The site itself has also been updated with a lot of new information. So let us know what you think, SF :O!

Note that this isn't really a place for you to complain about things you don't like, or a thread for discussing staff additions/etc. We have the ticket system for that (another new feature since the last one!). Just let us know how you guys are feeling about the forum/site in general :P:.

I'd love to hear about your experiences on SF, if you feel like making a post!

Oh and no troll posts please.

Edit:

Feel free to offer suggestions for forum/site improvement here as well. What the heck, we may as well accept some suggestions even if we have the ticket system now. Could help us out :P:.

The community? Lack of competition is its only saving grace.

Huh? It can include the community if it's that big of an issue for you, but the purpose of the thread is see if people are happy with the site and forum content.

Plus you're not making a lot of sense there to begin with. If we have no competition then doesn't that mean we ARE the general FE community? If that's the case then having competition would just result in a bunch of smaller forums with similar communities to our own.

Oh, well that changes things.

The site is fantastic, but I only participate in the forums because the better ones are gone. That's all I'm saying.

The site itself is very helpful. In fact, the best FE site on the web as far as i know. You guys have all this pretty cool information about the games. Stuff most people dont have yet. (like stuff about the new game) Plus all those charts and things about the units of various games. Its a good time.

The forums.
Overall, the forums are laid out nicely and the forum software suits the site well. I love the skins. Blue Skies (Lucius) is a great skin and i used it for like a year. The default is nice and fits very well with the main site's theme. Rajaion Red is the bomb. Some of the emoticon codes are a little awkward (like im not used to putting a : after :( for instance.) but overall fine. Plus all the FE themed ones. Plus :smug: and :awesome: are just great. Alls you need now is a fist shaking emoticon.

Community...well....I have seen an improvement here. Its still a bit shaky on accepting newer members (read: stubborn newblets) and stuff but yeah. I think FFtF really helps the forums overall cuz it confines all the silly into one board. Handy when yer not all about spamtastic threads and junk. Most of the members are pretty helpful to those who ask for FE infos. Despite how ridiculous some arguments get, its pretty educational because a lot of these guys list and talk about in depth stat averages and things.

Id give it a 8.5/10. Some things could be worked on. (Like some of the moderation could be a tad stricter in places) And of course a fist shaking emoticon. :P:

This is basically my response. My only other majorly active forum was GTS+ but after I retired it changed, and not for the better. I just really enjoy being here, and I like most of the people here.

Yeah, I'm definitely happy with this website. I think it's pretty damn neat. I mean, I can discuss Pokemon, FE, a bunch of other topics, and most of the users here are awesome peeps. (Plus, I <3 the Rajaion skin for the forums.)

I haven't been here for a really long time, but so far I've really enjoyed posting and chatting n' all that fun stuff.

10/10 for me so far!

Haha, it's nice to see a new member so happy with the forums! I dunno where it started and haven't seen much evidence for it at all, but a lot of people say new members are treated poorly here, so it's good to hear you've had a positive experience :P:.

You forgot to vote though!

I would say this is a good forum! You can find a lot of useful things about each FE game.

I also like how the moderators are. They know how to have fun yet they know when something has gone too far.

To my knowledge, best English-speaking Fire Emblem resource on the web. Forums are great too, but in all honesty, they're just gravy.

I'm cool here. Kind of always will be, assuming that no evil dictator appears and makes a ton of random rules that make no sense.

Bold: I will loudly voice my complaints until we get an official Aideen badge. Though a Knuckles badge would be pretty win
Italics: Best part of the forum.

But yeah, I love the main site for it's handiness, I love the forums, and I love our community we have here.

It's a very active forum with no thread being left to die without responses, and it's very up to date (especially with FE13 news), so I'd say yes.
