I see. Wow, at least you have +1 computers.

Funny nobody's stepped in to claim units yet.

1. According to Photobucket, you've exceeded your bandwidth limit.
2. I'm perfectly content with my Pineapple Huggers. GOGOGO!

My copy of this just arrived. Unfortunately, it is a Monday so I have the entire school week ahead of me... Also I have multiple performances this week. Also, due to me aforementioned craptastic internet, I need to be at a friend's house/school to access Steam. So until then feel free to play all you want and update a whole bunch.

Good luck with your school stuff mang.

Previously the Saga's saga, the Obama are sending everything they have to Wakasa to take back their capital. I'm sure this will be easy...maybe.
Spoiler -

Good thing I have enough ranged units to cover practically most of the inner sections of the castle.
Spoiler -

Enemy cavalry in range already? Fire.
Spoiler -

They're coming out the woods! They're coming from all sides! Hide yo kids, hide yo wife!
All units shift locations
Spoiler -

They shall climb into a killing zone.
Spoiler -

Repelling attackers like a boss. One does not simply swarm me.
Spoiler -

After repelling the initial waves, I encountered a bug where the AI refused to attack. ALl of its units were frozen. Well, time to try and "Reset" the AI by luring it.
Spoiler -

Well, they know how to bomb me with their cannons, sorta. That stopped after one salvo too.
Spoiler -

Spoiler -

Sent out some units. Manage to lure one of their generals, of all things. He dies.
Spoiler -

Shoot at dem Parrott Guns! Tis got their spear levies' attention.....RUN BACK TO CASTLE NOW
Spoiler -

It seemed that this set of events jolted the AI back into action.
Spoiler -

Units with no ammo? CHARGE.
Spoiler -

Here they come...over the hill.
Spoiler -

Positioning is key, and charging sharpshooters in melee is better than shooting it out with them.
Spoiler -

This was actually easy.
Spoiler -

I forgot to post up a few tech descriptions, so here you go.
Also, have a few ship descriptions.
Spoiler -

I recruit a few more foreign veterans to send to Buzen and Nagasaki to train up the upcoming recruits there.
Spoiler -

Long awaited addition to my naval arsenal.
These shells are made to set wooden ships on fire and kill crew members.
Spoiler -

Description of explosive shells.

Spoiler -

Next up, carbine cavalry.
Spoiler -

What am I up against, Toshi?
Not much, lord.
Spoiler -

I shall now build this in Buzen. The Artillery Academy shall give me Armstrong Guns.
Spoiler -

When it comes to matters of money, then of course I will side against the gaijin. Of course, I'll be polite and inform them of the unequal treaties....bastards.
Spoiler -

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a rebel army pops in Buzen, of all places....and look, a Shinsengumi! HOW THE FUCK DID HE GET HERE?
Spoiler -

Well, this should be easy, hopefully.
Spoiler -

Wooden cannons, when spammed, can fuck up walls quite nicely.
Spoiler -

And some of my troops didn't get away quickly enough before the wall exploded....ah well. LAST STAND TIME
Spoiler -

GANBATTE
Spoiler -

Calling in bombardment of wooden cannons...doesn't do much.
Spoiler -

But, levy have shit morale and at least my levy have training.
Spoiler -

Artillery units rout if all other non-artillery units are defeated. SO, I win.
Spoiler -

You don't say.
Spoiler -

Poindexter, le french veteran, manages to wound the Shinsengumi and send him packing.
Spoiler -

Carbine Cavalry acquired.
Next up, KNneel Fire drill. It's like a half-assed version of Fire by rank from Empire.
Spoiler -

Toshi continues through enemy lands.
Spoiler -

Telegraph Stations can be upgraded to railroads? Cool.
Spoiler -

Armstrong Guns acquired. They appear to be better than Parrotts in every way.
Spoiler -

No peace for you.
Spoiler -

Wow, the Westerners did care to listen. MOAR MONEY.
Spoiler -

Kneel Fire acquired. Now our line infantry will be unstoppable.
Spoiler -

Stumbled across undefended Osaka. AUtoresolve and make it ours.
Spoiler -

Mochi levels up once more!
He gets some cool gear with cool bonuses.
Spoiler -

What's this? They're still my enemy! I have a personal grudge to settle with these motherfuckers.
Spoiler -

Next firing drill to master: Supression Fire. This ability basically tells the unit to stop aiming and just start pouring rounds down range. It's the Boshin version of the ability "whistling arrows". Inflicts morale penalties and slows target down...but practically all units have this ability...
Spoiler -

Time to upgrade the criminal smuggling on Nagasaki. FOR THE GOLD
Spoiler -

Iemasa reaches max level for the Emperor. He is a god of assassinating things now, even moreso than Toshi. Faith >>>>>>>Training?!
Spoiler -

Random bonus to Wakasa. Okay.
Spoiler -

Nagasaki can now recruit these units.

SAMURAI HERO
Here, I was expecting some epic awesome unit that kicks asses and laughs at cannons. What I got was a souped up bow cavalry unit who has pretty shitty melee skills. Only good for harassing I suppose....though he can really boost allies with Second Wind.
Spoiler -

Carbine Cavalry
Mounted ranged unit, good range and also good at melee combat, albeit not as good as the Saber Cavalry. Still, I like the versatility.
Spoiler -

Reveal the Wakayama. Then eliminate them.
Spoiler -

Damn, I had a railway?!

Spoiler -

Now our units will have a chance against those melee foes!
Next technology will go back to civil policies.
Spoiler -

I besiege Yamato province of the Wakayama, and they immediately sally. BATTLE TIME.
Spoiler -

This is the Kyoto Police unit. They look manlier than the Spear Levy.
Spoiler -

Then I realized a lone enemy Hatamoto (traditional general) unit coming from the rear. MOCHI WILL DEAL WITH THIS
Spoiler -

Wait wait wait fall back, there's 60 of them and yu didn't fire your revolvers!
Spoiler -

CHAAAAAARGE
Spoiler -

Oh look, let's see if they can make it to the 50 yard mark.
Spoiler -

THIS IS KNEEL FIRE
Spoiler -

Quick win.
Spoiler -

For the Emperor, ever onwards!
Spoiler -

Yamato province has a Buddhist shrine, and all units trained here have insane charge bonuses. I should build a Traditional Dojo here.
Spoiler -

Obama have regrouped and want to retake Wakasa. (they didn't.)
Spoiler -

Abolition of Land Restrictions in effect, now let's boost our income.
CAPITALISM
Spoiler -

I can now upgrade farms to Zaibatsu Fields.
Spoiler -

I should build this in Nagasaki. Actually, I will. Top-tier modern units here I come!
Spoiler -

It's the Jozai! Assassinate and bribe! Oh wait, no money. ASSASSINATE AND KILL!
Spoiler -

WE NOW FIGHT THE JOZAI.
I see they have some fearsome-looking Shogunate-only units. Let's see how they fare.
Spoiler -

Shogitai supposedly have really awesome melee abilities even better than that of the katana kachi.
Spoiler -

The Shinsengumi Police Force....ah fuck 'em, FOR THE EMPEROR.
Spoiler -

We advance, and so do they.
Spoiler -

OPEN FIRE! Wait, why are their bow ki charging us?!
Spoiler -

HUMAN WAVE ATTACK. ALL MELEE UNITS, CHAAAAARGE. GANBATTE!!
Spoiler -

I try to maneuver the saber cav around to hit the enemies from the side, but I somehow messed up and made them charge head on AFTER the enemy had fired.
Their charge is devastating, and they proceed to make heads roll.
Unfortunately, some enemy units turned around and fired at them, leading to loss of half the unit...
Spoiler -

My trained Kyoto Police are able to stall the Shogitai.
Spoiler -

Revolver Cavalry kill the rest of them.
The SHinsengumi have banzai and so they had to be killed to the last man.
Spoiler -

This wasn't very challenging....okay maybe it was, my melee units took heavy casualties.
Spoiler -

We are Capitalists now.
Spoiler -

And once again, I side with the gaijin with all these issues.
Spoiler -

Now focusing on reducing upkeep. CENTRAL REFORMS REQUIRED
Spoiler -

That's the last Wakayama province.
Spoiler -

Iemasa is going to go deep behind enemy lines and sow discontent there.
Spoiler -

Toshi levels up from randomly killing enemy agents of the Shogun.
Spoiler -

Kii falls quickly, and with it the Wakayama are a footnote in history.
Spoiler -

Earthquake? Good thing it affects only one province.
Spoiler -

Yamashiro/Kyoto is filled with Obama clan scum.
Spoiler -

They're gonna assault Kyoto? I'll make them pay with blood. I only have enough units to fill up the top layer.
Spoiler -

Here they come...
Spoiler -

Not letting you get that arrow tower.
Spoiler -

They come in droves and we just kill them all.
Spoiler -

Bring more men next time. This was easy.

HEY! No killing off the Pineapple Huggers prematurely!

In modern combat, ALL ARE EXPENDABLE /shot

Anyways, should they get a new name? They really don't look like the pineapple huggers of old. HAHA!

With this technology, my income shall rise A LOT.

Spoiler -

Well, I wonder who killed the Tottori.
Spoiler -

Gregory Last has finally reached max level, and he gets a cool-looking hat.
Spoiler -

Toshi kills random geisha.
Spoiler -

Taking it from the Jozai.
Spoiler -

YES EMPEROR, YOUR INTERESTS ARE OURS
Spoiler -

What does Iemasa see?
Spoiler -

It's funny how Gregory can train level 0 units to level 2 in 1 turn.
Spoiler -

INCOME GOES UP AGAIN. Rolling in money. 9000 per turn = win.
Spoiler -

The next research will boost income even MOAR.
Spoiler -

The Arsenal will unlock the last artillery unit.
Spoiler -

More money is always good. The other breakthrough is not needed (it boosts healing)
Spoiler -

I wonder if Shogunate-nly units can be bribed....or if they'll disband if the persuasion is successful.
IT WORKS. I CAN GET SHOGITAI TO MY SIDE
Spoiler -

Yup, they're Katana Kachi on crack.
Spoiler -

Nagasaki's Army War College is complete.
Spoiler -

The most modern units are now unlocked.

IMPERIAL GUARD CAVALRY
They gallop around and can kill everything. Every. Fucking. Thing. And they won't run out of ammo anytime soon.
Spoiler -

Imperial Guard Infantry
Fancy cap aside, They can deal heavy casualties on the charge against kachi units, but they won't be shining in melee anytime soon.
Spoiler -

Money makes money. I can upgrade to a Coking Plant in Buzen.
Spoiler -

Also, market can now upgrade to Financial District.
Spoiler -

We march on to Omi. XIAOLIN SHOWDOWN
Spoiler -

So this is what a maxed out geisha looks like. She kinda got uglier as she leveled up...it seems.
Spoiler -

Omi's a little crowded, but we will prevail as always.

Spoiler -

My income now hits 10k per turn. Hell yes.
Spoiler -

Now, to unlock Iron Plating...
Spoiler -

I can afford to build factories now!
Spoiler -

I've had enough with the Shogunate navies bombing my provinces. It's time to bomb them back!
Spoiler -

AWWWW YEAH ARSENAL READY
Spoiler -

GATLING GUNS - Much shorter ranged than cannons, but they shred all units to bits.

The siege of Omi begins, heheh.

Spoiler -

Emperor forgive me, I totally forgot about this mission.
Spoiler -

Yes Emperor, I will redeem myself.

Spoiler -

One new feature that has been introduced in Fall of the Samurai is the railway system. It lets you move units very quickly around the campaign map, but I need military access or ownership of the provinces I am moving through, and stations must be connected. I don't have military access through Tosa lands and the AI sucks at building railways. I should betray ALL of them one of these days.
Spoiler -

The Ore Processing Plant is an upgrade to the Goldfields.
Spoiler -

The Shikoyoku Office just maintains Imperial influence even more.
Spoiler -

The hopeless garrison at Omi sallies out in a desperate attempt to save their skins.
Spoiler -

Sharpshooters into the woods, where they can FIRE WHILST HIDDEN
Spoiler -

They never learn, do they? Keeping their general in harm's way.

Spoiler -

They never saw it coming.
Spoiler -

That's a lot of Parrott Guns. All cavalry, INTERCEPT!
Spoiler -

For some reason, artillery takes forever to kill. It's like each and crew have some collective health. They have to be shot over 9000 times and melee'd to death over 9000 times before dying together. This means that a gun crew can kick ass in melee!

Spoiler -

Things are getting simpler. Just stand there and shoot.
Spoiler -

Revolver cav don't have much ammo, SO...MELEE THEM
Hey look remnants of a bodyguard.
Spoiler -

I NEED A CHALLENGE.
Spoiler -

Omi is ours.
Spoiler -

Emperor be praised.
Spoiler -

Silver mines in Omi? WEALTH

Spoiler -

All these Jozai forces in Jozai territory!
Spoiler -

Now the most mighty of iron ships is available to us!
Focusing on defense now.
Spoiler -

Upgrading a Buddhist Shrine for no reason.
Spoiler -

We must cut deep into Jozai territory!
Spoiler -

The nobodies of Clan Sado declare war on us. SURE WHY NOT
Spoiler -

I can now develop cities into Municipalities!

Spoiler -

Our Navy approaches Shogunate coast, and we have conquered Ise.
Spoiler -

Mochi ranks up again!
Spoiler -

The Emperor has decided to give us a choice for our legendary fame. This...is Realm Divide. BUT, it's not the crazy one where everyone suddenly turns on you. This is where ALL the Shogunates focus only on you. BUT, if I decide to pick the Republic route, then I lose everything with "Imperial" in the name and I cannot use Ishin Shishi to bribe people.

Of course....FOR THE EMPEROR!

PHOTOBUCKET WHY YOU NO OBEY
The Matcha Plant is a place to get tea and shit.
I upgraded to a Tea Exporter.
Spoiler -

Mochi gets the trait of Bravery. I think the trigger for this is to get your general into melee combat often.
Spoiler -

Okay, time to assign new traits. Since you can't read them, I'll list them.
Dread: +1 repression in provinces where Mochi is present, lowers morale of enemies.
Precision: +5 accuracy to all units under his command, bombardments have smaller radii
Offense: All units gain charge bonus,
Spoiler -

Our navy continues to make its way into enemy waters.
Spoiler -

Here I come across an Ironclad-Kotetsu class. Let's capture it.
Spoiler -

Looks special. Looks kinda tough. Let's take it.
Spoiler -

Suddenly my ship is on fire! He's got explosive shells. We must counter.
Spoiler -

I tell the ship on fire to initiate repairs and hopefully they can put it out while the other frigate pounds the Kotetsu.
Spoiler -

WHAAAT
Spoiler -

Luckily, revenge was had with lots of explosive shells and they surrendered.
Spoiler -

I bet you didn't notice that instead of "Clan Saga", we're now the "Saga Imperial Vanguard". Well, looks like the shogun picked his own vanguard. Both our banners have changed as we fight for a higher cause.
Spoiler -

And with the Realm Divide comes new declarations of war.
Spoiler -

I think the people can relax a bit. Here, have a festical.
Spoiler -

One day, when Iemasa walked through Sendai territory....HE WAS BESET BY A DAEMON! Luckily, WITH ZEAL AND FAITH, HE FUCKED THE ENEMY UP BIG TIME. I SMITE THEE IN THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR
Spoiler -

Gatling Gun towers? But nobody's going to be stupid enough to assault me.
Spoiler -

Oki seems very happy.
Spoiler -

One of our other lesser Ishin Shihi agents ave managed to talk a bunch of Nagoya troops to our side.
The Emperor is pleased.
Spoiler -

Shogunate Infantry have joined my side....funny they don't change their names to Imperial Infantry. So....they're Imperial ex-Shogunate Infantry? Talk about an identity crisis.
Spoiler -

So, the Date family are part of the Sendai.
Spoiler -

I can now build Matchlock Towers now....
Spoiler -

FLEET. UNLEASH HELL.
Spoiler -

The Shikykodihasdci something can be upgraded to a Daily News building. Time for brainwashing.
Spoiler -

We shall move onwards to Mino.
Spoiler -

Civil building boost? Now I guess I should upgrade all my towns to cities.
Spoiler -

Toshi dislikes Shinsengumi in his lord's territory.
Spoiler -

Iemasa sows chaos and bribes a bunch of Shogunate troops over. Unfortunately they were utterly obliterated by an angry Jozai army.
Spoiler -

Gatling Gun Towers researched. Hell yes....not like I'll ever see them in action though...

Spoiler -

Moving on to the province of Mino..

Spoiler -

Another new...feature of Fall of the Samurai are port assaults. In past games, your ships would be safe if they were docked at a port. Now, fleets can assault ports, basically sail INTO them and blw the shit out of the ships docked there. It also damages the port, and of curse it's harder as the attacker because ports have their own defenses.
I didn't repair my captured kotetsu either. Shit.
Spoiler -

Well, I've only got 1 USEABLE ship and lots of coastal cannons.
Spoiler -

Accursed narrow firing angle....I'm getting bombed!
Spoiler -

Entering first person mode because it boosts reload time, but I can't shoot for shit so that's a nice tradeoff.
Spoiler -

Smashin holes like a boss.
Spoiler -

For some reason the stupid AI is trying to blow all coastal emplacements up instead of blowing up my fleet.
ON FIRE? REPAIR NOW
Spoiler -

Wipe that blood off my screen, gunner. Load up another round and here we go.
Spoiler -

Things look good.
Spoiler -

After a lot of first-person cannoneering, I am greeted with the finale.

Spoiler -

I WEEN.
Spoiler -

I can now upgrade military docks to Drydocks (from the Iron Plating research).
Turns out that you need a drydck to make iron-plated vessels. Even if you've researched copper/iron, with
Spoiler -

After a few turns, the British ironclad Warrior arrives. It's manned by a Brit with a sexy at, of course.
Spoiler -

And with that, it's time to push forward. Time to invade the Shogunates and wipe them out once and for all. The Emperor protects.
Spoiler -

Meanwhile, the Nagoaka sally out.
Spoiler -

They shall be trapped on 2 fronts. The reinforcing army was recently bribed over to my side.
Spoiler -

Shelling them from the side.
Spoiler -

They've got their own Parrotts, but this is what ranged cavalry are good for.
Spoiler -

Sharpshooters fire! Then withdraw to safety.
Spoiler -

Enemy saber cavalry. KYOTO POLICE, CHARGE!
Spoiler -

Spoiler -

SURPRISE RAPE!
Spoiler -

And with the death of their general, it's all over.
Spoiler -

Toshi reaches max level from all that killing.
Spoiler -

With dat new mask and armor, he goes ahead and kills a Frenchie.

Training Camps can be upgraded to provide bonuses to recruits. Too bad my armies are already vetted up and recruited already.
I'll just showcase the buildings, not gonna comment much on them.
Spoiler -

Wtf? Tanegshima what are you thinking?
Spoiler -

Oki and a few new toys have loaded up...
Spoiler -

Chipping away at the Nagaoka.
Spoiler -

Factories can be upgraded even further. Mind blown.
Spoiler -

Morale bonuses to modern units are always welcome.
Spoiler -

Moving on to TORPEDOS.
Spoiler -

Mochi's army gets some modern units. Switching out some line infantry and levy infantry.
Spoiler -

Oki has landed! NOW DEATH SHALL CLAIM THE SHOGUNATE
Spoiler -

Lolwut
Spoiler -

Iemasa manages to persuade a HUGE force to join me. Amongst the defectors are....what..ex-Shinsengumi!?
Luckily, our defectors were smart enough to hide in the nearest forest so Jozai forces can't find them.
Spoiler -

Continuing to siege their lands.
Spoiler -

Hide, crawl, hide, crawl...
Spoiler -

Let's test out our Imperial units. FOR THE EMPEROR!
Spoiler -

Check out dem hats.
Imperial Infantry - A cut above line infantry.
Spoiler -

Carbine Cavalry, balanced in both ranged and melee.
Spoiler -

Shogunate Infantry (well, ex-Shogunate now), same stats as Imperials....I think. Well the Imperials I have were upgraded with better armor and accuracy because that one province has awesome buildings.
Spoiler -

This battle's a sure win, so let's toy around with our carbine cavalry.
Spoiler -

They remind me of the light dragoons from Empire Total War, except these carbines are BREECHLOADERS. Meaning, no need to rip a cartridge with your teeth, shove into gun, and use ramrod. Just shoot, take cartridge and shove into the back of your gun and fire.
Rate of fire? 4-5 seconds. DANGEROUS.
Spoiler -

They never stood a chance...
Spoiler -

I was going to peacefully occupy this province. Then I saw Okazaki and immediately though of biology. Okazaki fragments......gonna make them my vassal.

Today, we shall demonstrate the awesomeness of late-game units.

Spoiler -

This is the armstrong gun. Doesn't look that much different from the parrott.
Spoiler -

This is the Gatling gun. Fuck honor, this is awesome.
Spoiler -

Imperial Guard Infantry. The best uniforms and breech-loaders that money can buy.
Spoiler -

This is the Samurai Hero, a far cry from the heroes of Shogun 2.
Spoiler -

British Royal Marines. Red and...well....lots of funny dialogue from the soldiers themselves.
Spoiler -

The Armstrong Guns don't seem any more accurate than the Parrotts, but they certainly fire much faster.
Spoiler -

Oh and this is the Imperial Guard Cavalry.
Spoiler -

One of the main selling points of Fall of the Samurai is this unit. Just...so amazing to see them shoot continuously without fail.
Spoiler -

Even better is when I get to control them personally. HAHAHA
Spoiler -

NO MERCY. THIS IS MODERN WARFARE.
Spoiler -

Well, let's mess around with our horse archers.
Keypoint: Don't group them together. Let the enemy chase one unit and let the others shoot the pursuers.
Spoiler -

I've never seen anything so one-sided.
Spoiler -

A trio of provinces are now mine!
Spoiler -

My favorite part about the Guard units is that they give a shout-out to the Warhammer 40k series.

Hey. It's been a long time. I've already completed a Jozai campaign and I'm doing one right now as the Satsuma Republic. You should, like, update. Also, lategame units are lame. Ridiculous province upgrades and experience is where it's at. Gogo 50 charge bonus sabre cav! Unfortunately, I haven't gotten into a field battle yet to test them.

Shit man, and you had even less time than I did....

Then again, I spent the 6 past days on a Mass Effect marathon. Just finished Mass Effect 3 today and I can see why people are so pissed at the ending. Wtf Bioware?

ANYWAYS

The Jozai army has taken the province of Kozuke. Here, they shall hold out and hope Mochi can blaze a trail to link the province with the rest of our lands.

Spoiler -

I can't wait to see these Torpedo Ships in action now....
Spoiler -

Our next thing to research is Seclusion, which DOES NOT lower our modernization, but it raises the happiness of the people, for some reason. So, I suppose it means we're somehow isolating the commoners from the gaijin?
Spoiler -

It's a pity winter time lasts 6 turns, but to look at it realistically, it means I have 18/24 turns out of the year where I can move around without suffering attrition and whatnot. We won't be marching on to South Shinano or Etchu for some time.
Spoiler -

Bribing's always nice. If you got it, use it.
It's a pity the Aizu died so early in-game. They have some very unique units...and I'm not talking unique such as Shogitai where it's allegiance-exclusive, I'm talking unique as in lan-exclusive. It certainly is strange that the Saga don't have unique units of their own despite what the advertisements say.. I'll have to do something about that.
Spoiler -

Well, a turn later I get a message that the Obama clan has been destroyed. I wished I dealt the killing blow, but such was not the case...
Spoiler -

Did I mention I can build Gatling Towers now?
I had a siege where I didn't take screens of, but all I can say about Matchlock Towers is that they only seem slightly better than arrow towers....but that's probably because enemy units nowadays have minimal armor. The additional armor-piercing capabilities offered by matchlocks aren't useful in this sense.
Spoiler -

Now I don't need to dilly-dally around so much keeping public order after conquering a province.
Spoiler -

Next thing of research: the Western Agenda.
Spoiler -

South Shinano has joined us.
Spoiler -

Meanwhile....Mochi gets into a battle with the sallying garrison of Etchu which is supported by another army attacking from behind. Essentially, Mochi is surrounded, with with good ol' Brit marines and Imperial Guardsmen, I'm sure he'll give the Shogunates a sound thrashing.
This is the Kisho Ninja unit. No, it's not Toshi.
Spoiler -

Second force in-bound. Let's form a circle..or double lines or something!
Spoiler -

The Armstrong guns will be putting pressure on these guys, hopefully by the time they reach me their numbers will be so thinned out it won't even matter if I'm surrounded.

Meanwhile, the gatlings will face the other way and try not to die. I always enjoy the first person mode....HEHEHEH
Spoiler -

Unfortunately, the royal marines were hit hard in the back....and didn't lose a lot of men....funny....of course, they don't use katanas. They go toe-to-toe with SABERS.
Spoiler -

The kisho ninja from FOTS are basically the same ones from Shogun 2. They got their flashbangs and their grenades... Anyways, they send the cavalry packing.
Spoiler -

Alright Tommy, back in line formation for you.
Spoiler -

The cavalry shall flank. With carbines. The days of charging in are over.
Spoiler -

An undisciplined force like this is no match for our kneel-firing.
Spoiler -

Now's the time. When the enemy is distracted/shooting somewhere else, send the cavalry in.

Of course, the enemy was smart enough to attempt to shoot down some of my cavalry by turning around. Cavalry are much more vulnerable to bullets since they're such big targets....
Spoiler -

It's a great win, while our bow cavalry forlornly stare at the stats, at how little kills they have...

Anyways...turns out Oki wasn't marching on Etchu, but Echigo. I can never get my Japanese province names correct....

Spoiler -

They think they can take on the bribed garrison. I will show them just how wrong they are.
Spoiler -

I've got plenty of bow units, and due to that range I can place them on the upper tiers. The melee units will have to stay on the lower tiers. It's more traditional..sorta.
Spoiler -

I move the yari kachi away from the walls so they don't get killed off by the wooden cannons bombing the wall.
Spoiler -

Hm, so that's what the Shinsengumi Police Force look like. They seem to be able gunners and melee combatants.
Spoiler -

I don't have all day, enemies. Hurry up with your assault please.
Spoiler -

Random ninjas.
Spoiler -

No guns here, but there are..bombs.
Spoiler -

One does not simply survive grenades.
Spoiler -

Boring. Not enough of the enemy made it up there for a decent meleefest.
Spoiler -

Meh, and I was outnumbered too.
Spoiler -

We move on to North Shinano.
Spoiler -

I've taken the liberty of modding the game so we can train Red Bear Infantry. I mean, really, the saga clan was advertised so we can use these guys but it didn't happen in-game. I WILL NOT LET THAT STAND.
They've got the same stats as the Imperial/Shogunate infantry, I believe.
Spoiler -

You know, I really, really want to mod in the past unit from Shogun 2 and RIse of the Samurai into this campaign for major lulz. Anyone mind?

I play with small unit sizes since S2 has slowed down with the new patch... your kill numbers are so big compared to mine!

What's that about flanking with carbines instead of charging? Man, I really wanna see that 50 charge bonus in action...

There's slow down? I thought it ran faster for me...r it could just be my new lappy.

Yeah....there were only 3000 casualties in the Boshin War. Guess your numbers are more historically accurate!

50 charge bonus? I don't recall my cavalry having that much... lol I'll charge when the time is right.
