I honestly don't see how anyone could mistake Marth for a girl. Whether it be this iteration, or his previous ones. He's always looked rather effeminate, or bishounen/pretty boy, but I wouldn't mistake him for a woman. I looked at his Brawl incarnation next to this one and really, I don't see much difference. Other than here he doesn't look as Asian. Not trying to say people are wrong for saying he looks like a woman specifically, just that I don't really see it.

Like Veith, I'm also wondering if this is how the other lords will be introduced. I think it worth noting that Marth got a completely new art work to go along with his inclusion, so that gives hope for some of the other characters. Even if it's only the previous lord's.

EDIT: Ninja'd by Celice.

I wonder why this DLC character gets new art, but the others don't. huh

The others are just SpotPass characters, this one's an actual paid DLC chapter.

Hm...Wasn't aware they were doing both Spot Pass AND DLC characters. I was under the assumption they were the same thing. Good to know.

Every FE installment improved Marth's looks, and now it seems like they decided to take a few steps back. I'd rather have FE1 skirt Marth in the game, atleast it would be classic. And even if he has never really been colourful why not change that now? Dark blue everything sucks.

I wonder why Masked Marth loves cosplay.

I wouldn't jump from "Marth gets new art" to "Previous Lords get new art" like that. Hope? I guess... but Marth has always been special in this series due to his being Marth.

Comparing Marth's art to Masked Marth... I'm again feeling masked is designed to be either more feminine or much younger/smaller than Marth, given the identical outfits but. Masked has a belt that is obviously too big, thus is hanging off of his/her hips, instead of his/her waist. Compared to Hero King Marth whose belt is is on his waist perfectly. Equally, comparing Shoulder-Waist-Hips from High King Marth to Masked there is obviously more hip going on for Masked, where on High King the line is straight.

Of course this could just be artists being different, but I'm adding this to "Masked is a Girl" theory.

Nintendo: "Yo dudes, we heard you like Marth! So we put more Marth in your Fire Emblem game as DLC! Pretty freakin awesome, huh?"

To be honest...I wasn't expecting them to present Marth as DLC...considering the circumstances.

Interesting. Their outfits are almost identical, but not quite.

Now is even voiced by a woman, Yuu Kobayashi. That alone could mean many things.

I don't know whether wool stockings are actually better than no pants at all.

I suppose this hilariously effeminate Marth is yet another evidence of Charth's male gender.

And that Nintendo is going to milk DLC like no tomorrow. No surprise here.

>While wandering in another world, Krom and the others find an old seer able to summon heroic spirits

So Marth is a Servant now, huh

Marth II still looks more feminine than Marth, although not by as much of a margin as before.

What now stands out to me, looking at them side by side, is foot size. It might be a trick of the perspective, but Marth II's feet look tiny compared to Marth's.

Oh, paid DLC characters are gonna get new art?

I like this. As long as they aren't too expensive.

Classic!Marth is 3 bucks in Japan (free until June).

One good question would be the availabily of those overseas, though

Ok so masked Marth is a spirit then? Well that clears that up...

And Marth looks so...different.

I noticed that Marth seems to be a bit taller than Masked Marth.

Like Celice said, that would be glorious. I'd pay like $50 for that.
