Dat Rules
- Ratings are assumed to be on Hard 2 Mode.
- Votes need some explanation regarding their gameplay performance to be counted. If somebody else said what you want to already, quote them explicitly.
+/- ≤1 point extra regarding personality/appearance is encouraged, but no more. If you exercise your bias privileges, please do so explicitly. Also, if your vote is already a 10/10 or greater than 9 and you give a full point of bias, The score may not exceed 10!
- Numerical votes out of 10, or something proportional to it. Make it easy to calculate for my sake.
- Each ranking phase ends from 2100 to 2200 EST. 13th May start the topic again but i am not sure. Do the math if you are in another timezone!
- I will insist you do not use the "Not X" reason on any character, where X is another unit. If you do, your vote will be thrown out.
- "Recruits X" or "takes you to X chapter" arguments are explicitly banned. C'mon, people, this shouldn't need to be a rule. That's not gameplay performance.
- Assume that the character in question is being recruited.
- Similar to the "Recruits X" rule, do not use "He Comes with a Free Ridersbane" as an argument.
- I withhold the privilege to tell you your rating is bogus and demand you revise it if it breaks any of the above. I will not throw out votes anonymously, you will be informed and given a chance to revise.

You spelled "Skittle" wrong. Anyway. . .

Class A has horrid options in terms of Strength. Lucky for him, Roshea has that in spades. What he lacks is good personal Speed. I like having him run around as an archer, because it helps with his awful Speed. It also keeps him out of direct combat, so I don't have to worry about his ugly Luck growth.

7/10 (full bias point has been thrown in because Skittle)

Subpar class set A character who brings nothing amazing to the table. Curate --> Sniper material. Best used as a sacrifice in chapter 5.

2.5/10 (With -1 bias included because I hate his face)

Wow. One of the two cavs that actually happens to be worse than Matthis. From what I heard, he used to be pretty decent at the least in FE3 pt1. But now? Ugh! He's comparable to the Altean cavs in every area except speed (Which is what? 0% at base? Good Lord, that's bad!), averages-wise. But the cavs in question are highly likely to have better stats than him by the time he joins. Those bad weapon ranks of his don't help either.

2/10 -1 bias for being bad, but not "worst character in the game" bad, which brings him to 1/10.

On a side note: Whatever happened to that Matthis rating, anyways?

1.5/10

He's nothing great and brings nothing new to the table, you have many units which function as better cavs than this guy. And his weapon ranks aren't great either. Why even bother using him?

Sucks and is ugly. I thought it was a girl at first.

When you get Sedgar, Wolf and Hardin at the same time, there is no reason at all to use her him.
4/10
no wait 3/10

From what I heard, he used to be pretty decent at the least in FE3 pt1.

I just took a quick gander at his stats and that seems about right. Better HP, defense growths, but lower speed growth. Has roughly the same bases as Cain/Abel. He starts on level 3 instead of 1, but that doesn't matter since you gain set exp from killing enemies - regardless of your level or promotion status.

I just glanced in here and roughly averaged Matthis:

1.59

Sorry if this is horribly inaccurate.

Oh, and to add on what I said earlier about FE3 Book 1 Roshe...

FE3 Speed:
Cain : 6 base @ 60% growth
Abel : 7 base @ 50% growth
Roshea : 7 base @ 40% growth

Shadow Dragon Speed (Cavalier):
Cain : 6 base @ 50% growth
Abel : 7 base @ 50% growth
Roshea : 7 base @10% growth

WHY!? Why would you do this IS!? ... Then I looked up FE1 and saw Roshea had 10% there. And I know Shadow Dragon is supposed to be more based on FE1... but that still makes me foam at the mouth in a most violent manner!

ANYWAYS!!!
Can we just copy-n-paste everyone's scores for Roshea, assign them to Vyland, and move onto Wendell sooner?

No. Rest assured, I'm rating Vyland lower. It might have to do with the 30% HP growth difference.

his bases aren't too shabby, and he has some good strength and excellent HP and skill, however said stats are wasted on him due to his speed.

3/10.

frat's post made me deduct a point, because he does actually have a point.

Bullshit if Roshea scores higher than Matthis.

He's okay. He can toss Javelins and eventually Ridersbane bot some stuff. His only problem is his shoddy speed but as long as he keeps out of doubling he's fine. Plus there are the reasons eclipse mentioned earlier.

4+1 bias = 5/10

Not in the least. Their growths are similar, but Roshea beats the shit out of Matthis in bases - the latter is not gaining 2 HP, 1 STR, 3 SKL, 1 SPD, and 4 LCK in a single level. You'd have to do some serious rigging to get the STR/SPD, anyway.

Bullshit if Roshea scores higher than Matthis.

roshe has higher bases whereas it takes 10 levels on average for matthis to even tie roshe's spd, and then another 10 on average after that to eke out a 1 point lead.

I haven't played H2 but...

...Does 7 Spd do anything different that 6 Spd doesn't?

That's an example of something that Matthis wins in growths that Roshea doesn't. Combine it with base STR, and Roshea's losing 1 less SPD to a Javelin than Matthis, which is a net +2 AS. 6 AS doubles early mages; 4 doesn't, IIRC.

Lots of enemies have 10 speed on H5. Dunno about H2.
