What's the point of having this tome put in the game at all? When it is very likely that no one can use it period in a ranked run. Every other light magic users weapon level is too low to get enough time to build it to S level and Yodel might be a possibility. But using him will only waste EXP and will get your EXP rank to take a dive. I don't understand why you must even bother getting this tome to be able to go further than Chapter 22. As it is just going to sit there and collect dust. Really, what's the point of making weapon level formula suck and putting this tome in this game when there isn't any way that you could ever use it? Because in a ranked run, there is never enough time with anyone, but maybe Yodel to use it? Anyways, pointless IS. Pointless.

For the ranked run thing: Perhaps they didn't design it with ranks in mind?

And that it doesn't sell for anything either.

The same thing could be said of Bors/Wendy/Sophia etc.

So? That has nothing to do with what I said.

Not everything revolves around gameplay. The storyline demanded a special weapon for Eturia, as well as a special light tome in general. It also gives the justification for Ch16x to exist.

And they probably overestimated its practicality too.

While Othin's statement does hold water, it really didn't change the fact that they made it so that no unpromoted classes can use Light magic, and the only class that can has to start from D rank. On top of that, healers gain experience at a snail's pace before promotion, so even when they do promote, their combat will either be crap(early promotion) or it will be too late to get S Light(Lv20 promotion).

I guess Yodel is a fair option, since he does start with an A in light, but his combat is mediocre at best, not to mention that he has only 4 maps to get S Light, which necessitates attacking 50 times in 4 maps, when realistically, he should be staffbotting.

Have a nice day.

Yeah, it's really not practical, I think we know.

It just seems like IS didn't.

IS isn't exactly concerned with practicality in a lot of cases. If they were, the double bow wouldn't be essentially a crappier steel bow with awkward range in PoR.

Well then, I guess that answers TC's question.

I always suspected Aureola's uselessness in FE6 was at least part of the reason it was featured prominently in FE7.

If you're careful about how you use your units, since most people only use one of the healers, then you can choose between Aureola and the divine staff.
Frankly, I'd S rank light magic since Aureola would be more useful, but....that would also be a pain.

If only FE6 had monks.

And Shine.

Shine wouldn't make much of a difference since a total of 50 hits minus one hit per kill with any weapon type is needed to boost weapon ranks. It pretty much makes the Devil Axe in this game worth as much as it is in the DS FEs as far as raising weapon levels go.

Aureolas worth in fe7 was based around 2 units, since lolSERRASCOMBAT and Renaults combat.

Lucius-
Easily reaches S light.

Athos-
It's an option, but he wants Luna or Forblaze more.

It's probably just for show and super special weapon consistency.

Special weapon for St Elimine, who's probably the most important of the heroes except Hartmut.

And even if the S light tome is worthless, it's still better to have an S rank in every weapon so it looks shiny.
