Kyza would be the Fiona of Laguz, if Lyre did not exist. So he is more like the Meg of Laguz. Underleveled, bad bases, but good growths... He is salvageable, but if we are to put bexp on a tiger, Mordecai is the better choice.

1/10

[01:02:24] <Lindesux> btw I have been using Kyza
[01:02:42] <Lindesux> He is gr9mazing because he can 2RKO everything with a Energy and Wing
[01:03:15] <Lindesux> Better than faggots like Haar man I'm so glad I benched him
[01:04:07] <Lindesux> I've also been using Aran instead of that lame Nolan
[01:07:31] <Lindesux> I got him to a point where he was 3HKO'd by tigers
[01:07:42] <Lindesux> And yet Sothe was still a more useful tank than he was

See, he's better than Haar 10/10

I find the Ranulf rating bullshit.

Anyway, Kyza is merely one thing:

FABULOUS!

1/10.

Eh what can you do when players are unwilling to accept the fact that they're "bad" at using a character. Ranulf should have a scored a 7 at least on average (a 6 accounting negative bias) not 3s or 4s. Whatever, if a character doesn't have boobs and requires some thought to use their guaranteed to be scored lower. It honestly feels like nobody here has even played HM in recent memory (funny thing too, i've seen some of the regular users who post on RTUs admit that they've never played HM which is absurd.)

(no I won't let this go. Yes I do realize i've overscorred a few characters like Soren and Nephenee. Regardless the Ranulf rating was a farce)

I think saying Ranulf deserves a 7 is asking too much... I mean, I could see him deserving a 6, but a 7? Really? On a character who's pretty mediocre when all is said and done? Now I'll admit, I don't have the patience to work with laguz units (and I'm outright not very good with them at all), but still... 4 levels of BEXP (which you say Ranulf needs) is a lot when you're only working with 25% of the BEXP that you'd have in normal mode (you only get half as much, and it takes twice as much to give a character a level). Is it worth it? Hell no! And there's the fact that you tried to downplay his gauge AND his inability to counter ranged combatants - flaws that cannot simply be swept under the rug.

Ranulf also doubles more than dimwits like Boyd, yet we seemed to come to the conclusion that Boyd is somehow better.

Hmmm...

Hmmm...

Because boyd doesn't get doubled and 3hko'd after he detransforms, has two range, in the form of hand axe forges if needed, doesn't have to keep chugging olivi grasses...

The list kinda goes on and on... Also, a speedwing if he gets one (haar, tits) are less of a resource than 4 levels of bexp, and perhaps a drop and shield.

also, four levels of BEXP: 7200 at MAX on HM after 3-3, that is what ranulf has available at 3-4. He has 11925 at 3-7 available at MAX. You know how much it takes for him to get four levels? It's 8400 or 8500 (cant recall if level gets rounded up or down after x 1.5 multiplication)

8400 out of 12000 BExp is a SHITLOAD. Is it useful to invest it on a unit with lolcatgauge and no two range? hell no. You know how much we can bump up Boyd with that? 5 levels, almost 6, well, I think with speed being TIED for his third best growth, we can see some Spd points that can make him start doubling with those fun hand axes.

But Starwave needs to learn to not get a swelled head from doing fe10 in 179 turns.

Sheesh, some units just aren't that good, due to class problems-
Like Ranulf, Brom, and Meg

Either way, he needs to get it in his head that Ranulf's just not that good thanks to class problems. I mean, seriously? Ranulf shoulda gotten a 7?! Please!

Do I have to beat you over the head like a usual tool?

It's very simple - Ranulf doubles, Boyd does not. Boyd does not double if he gets a Speedwing, Ranulf doubles without a Speedwing. You have to be a fucking dunce not to know how to use his gauge. Even if he can't counter from 1-2 range, guess who else can't? All the other laguz.

Here I'm going to explain how to use Ranulf since apparently everyone can't seem to grasp the concept - you use a Laguz Stone or throw some Olivi Grass for two turns. He transforms and you carry on business while throwing grass on occasionally. Cat gauge isn't that good, but it does not suddenly justify throwing scores lower than even a 6, let alone a 6.5. He has better Movement than most foot units, and can get Rend if you're willing to spend the cost, but it isn't necessary.

Oh and he's free to deploy. That's pretty much extra credit.

I stated earlier that a 6 was a pefectly reasonable rating for Ranulf, but Starwave here's saying Ranulf should've gotten more 7s - not a sentiment I share at all. And you're right, inability to counter ranged combatants is a problem all laguz share, and personally, it's why I dislike using laguz in the first place (or at the least, part of it).

I will not argue with the guy who says there are people who just...dont know how to use certain people. Thus making it look like they are bad at the game in general.

Ranulf is usable and decent when he is doing stuff. But folks do need to realize that his gauge gets in the way of being gr9mazing. Chugging all that grass just to stay afloat hurts a bit. Yeah, i can make Ranulf work for the entire game if i wanted. It isnt hard, its just aggravating. A lot of members here just arent arsed to try it.

If 6 was a "perfectly reasonable" score then why did the majority of the users rate Ranulf below that? If you truly believe that, why did you yourself give Ranulf a 4? How can you say you don't share my sentiment (which isn't even the main problem) and then undersell Ranulf while thinking otherwise. Clearly there's some hindsight bias here. You're disregarding everything that's been said and done and now you're harping on the fact that I think Ranulf deserves a 7 (which is the least of anyone's concern.) Really my issue here is the lack of objectivity in this thread (I hate x character and thus I think they're bad... this line of logic is bullshit)

Seriously before Tyranel M (aka one of the daien riders of the FE10 tier list thread) came in and posted, everybody was content with thinking that giving Ranulf anything above a 5 was stupid notion. He basically said the same thing I was trying to say (but in a much more concise and efficient way.) In short, a lot of the misgivings people had over Ranulf ranged from unreasonable to absurd and he should not have been rated lower than many of the characters that have been related so far.

Also I know i'm derailing but seriously fuck Kyza, nobody gives a shit about him.

PS: Sharpy i'm nowhere near good enough to complete FE10 in 179 turns (I completed it in 2xx+ turns) I was just pointing out that a fair amount of users are voting without actually having "experienced HM"

Let's just say a 6 was about the highest I could reasonably give Ranulf and leave it at that. As for me, I just didn't deem him worthy of a 6. I don't think he's bad, just mediocre.

Yet they're assed to trying to make units like Boyd and Soren, who need more work than Ranulf? That's a gigantic contradiction!

Colonel M and starwave- Is it that hard to understand that having limited EP exposure is bad? Like, he cant go in and rip everything apart like other characters can for fear of his gauge and lack of 1-2 range. I myself rated him that low based on personal experience LOW TURNING THE GAME MULTIPLE TIMES. His bases are great and he has pretty good combat, thats for sure. But he cant go in and murder everything in an EP compared to other characters. Sure, you can avoid this problem by not exposing him as much, grassing, etc, but that just proves that his gauge gets in the way of him murdering things.

Regardless, let's talk about Lyre now. :]
