ok when I use Sappy for certain roms I get this error. I use it mostly to get the header for Zahlman's song editor so is there a way to fix this or another way to get the header?

Certain GBA ROMs don't use the Sappy Engine.

Tales of Phantasia and Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories come to mind as using a different engine.

So is there another way to find headers for Zahlman's song editor?

use a debugger/memory viewer to find out where the song is being streamed to and backtrace

Though technically, if it's not using the sappy engine, Zahlman's song editor won't work with it... period.

That's why it was so hard to get a rip for a GBA game that didn't have sappy as its engine.

Someone ELSE debugged it and ripped the tracks into a custom file... which a Winamp plugin.

I have no idea if winamp has a midi exporter feature.

Again, as I said. I don't know if winamp has a MIDI export function.

Oracle_of_fire, the person making that ROM hack with that music in it used a MIDI someone made. Probably from VGMusic. It isn't a rip from the GBA ROM.

Then you're SOL.

I don't know what to say other than "did you make sure you put the plugin in the right place?"

Unless you can use a debugger and know what the hell you're doing, get a MIDI.

alright so how can I insert midis into my fe rom? yes, I know Blazer has a tutorial for it but I assume there's an easier, faster more efficient way considering it's so outdated.
