But the unit described was both inaccurate and imprecise. I personally value precision over accuracy, though FE is somewhat founded on chance highs and lows :V

But I'm getting more off-topic with each post so I'll shut up now :X

People here don't understand.

Why heroes ARE good classes usually?

Because they have high skill and power and speed, so they hit like trucks, while not being tanks to balance them out.

They have axes, that are not very precise, but are powerful, so if they have high skill that's better, but if they have low skill but high power? Go for swords, damnit.

Or warriors, too, way better than berserkers, cause they are the best archers around with the whopping strenght they have and bows are very precise so Steel Bow + Moderate/Low skill + High attack = Rape

Heroes usually don't use swords because they're accurate, well besides FE5 and possibly FE6 anyways.

In FE6, accuracy is more important than it is in a lot of other games. In FE5, weapon might matters less for a number of units since they proc criticals quite easily. Also, while axes and lances have javelin and hand axe and ranged master weapons, ranged, magic melee weapons are quite good and locked to swords.

(NOTE-I might have totally blown it XD)

Better sword rank, special weapons, WTA. For someone like Raven or Gerik, stuff like Killing Edges or Audulhma do have their uses, although all of the basic weapons (Iron-Steel) are kind of obseleted by axes. Raven has a hard time using some of the stronger axes so he might not be able to substitute Killer Axe for Killing Edge as easily at the lower levels, and it'll be quite the wait for Silver Axe.

Heroes usually are fast and precise, so they can realiably kill and be supportive units to, let's say, paladins.

To be fair Raven, Gerik, Dieck, and Harken are all really good units, even in LTC settings. Not as good as paladins and fliers, but I think with the exception of Harken they're all high tier.

The skill speed and str thing is probably the wrong reason though, although it's nice. More like reliable 1-2 range/good weapon ranks for boss killing.

OTHIN!
Oh wait, Pugi's an axe
DIECK!-
Oh wait, after ch7, he's ahand axe spammer
RAVEN-
oh wait, he's got a low base level and can't use higher end axes until a bit later. And doesn't like using Steel.
GERIK!
Oh wait, insta-promo to HEro for hand axes

So, maybe 3rd tier Ike, if he counts....
Buuut.

And, get 2HKO'd.
Decent/Good combat is the only card hero's have.

INdeed.
Echidna too.
Raven is a little overrated, but yeah.

Dieck FTW.

more like they just have good enough stats to fill in common combat roles

in most games they could just as easily be any other grounded melee class, but fighters and mages always get the shaft stat-wise

And then in the two games where they didn't have a Merc class, they had good Fighters.

I THINK DONDON IS ONTO SOMETHING HERE

Wow, I thinks this topic was already dead week ago. But it's turn out fairly active.

I create this topic for some info for my FE7-8 rebalance patch (for personal use and train my hack skill anyway, didn't have plan to release it for now).

Thanks for the input anyone!

Heroes are good because units that are Heroes have high stats in like every area

Going to assume L1049's stat weights are jokes
