From the FE3 translation it seems that no one notices the disguised princesses and everyone goes home happy. Really makes you wonder how good that disguise is- might be awkward for someone like Julian later.

I think it would be far more awkward for Merric, 'cause IIRC, Lena never agrees to marry Julian.
