I have a similar opinion to coolguyvatars. I read The Crucible for class last year but I did not find it enjoyable. I have lived in New England for multiple years so I was already very much familiar with the Salem Witch Trials; familiar enough that the play offered no new historical insight for me or my classmates, so I found it boring and unfavorable.

They can always do better because no one is perfect. And unless you read the book immediately before watching the movie, you wouldn't notice those minor things. I read the books when they came out, so I didn't. The story comes across perfectly, and even though I did notice some changes, they were occasionally for the better

^I had to add my own quotes, so that was from Fourth Fox of Fire. Somehow I wasn't able to...

1. I will agree with the fact that no one is perfect.
2. Books usually come out way before their own movie, so I always end up reading them first.
3. Changes for the better?!?... Though you did say occasionally, I think that leaving out that Quidditch (I think that's wrong, but I don't really care much) game in HP4 movie was not for the better! I was so upset when I saw that happen.

Anyone else here a Stephen King fanatic? I think his writing style is pretty amazing, especially in books like The Stand or It. I really like how his The Dark Tower series ties the storylines of many of his other novels into one large Stephen King horror-fantasy universe.

Not to mention that The Shining was a book that kept me up for a week or so, running solely on fast food and caffeine.
