Chapter 10: Light and Dark

Notes: Names in italics may also refer to the character’s replacement. Example: Skasaher, what’re you so freaked out about? Here, the name would be Roddlevan if Ira didn’t have children.

Map Opening

After subduing Thracia Castle, Celice advanced straight for Grandbell.

His army passed through the Miletos District, a independant region which had built up a sizable fortune through trade.
However, all that remained was a region dying out under the empire and Loputo Sect’s rule.
Queen Hilda of Chronos drove numerous citizens to a hideously cruel death. While Bishop Morigan carried out merciless child hunts at Rados under orders from Archbishop Manfroy.

Fortune, hope, freedom, and destiny had all been stripped from the hands of the people.
The Dark Sect’s sacrificial rituals, claiming one life after another, left Celice with no other choice but to intervene.
An intense battle ensued, and the Imperial Guard was driven away, and Peruluke was free once again.
The liberation army received a hero’s welcome from the townspeople.
Their very presence began to revive the once lost hope of Miletos.

Opening

(Chronos)

Yurius:
“Ishtar, how are things coming along?”

Ishtar:
“They’re proceeding smoothly, Your Highness.”

Yurius:
“Hmph… The sacrifices to the Dark Lord must be quite a scare for the people.”

Ishtar:
“They all go to pieces when their child is to be sacrificed. Especially the mothers…”

Yurius:
“Heh heh… Perfect. Break them down until they’ve lost the will to live. They become like puppets and make for excellent slaves of the Loputo Empire.”

Ishtar:
“How shall I handle the excess of children? This castle is full as it is.”

Yurius:
“Have them sent to the capital. I’ll groom them myself. After breaking all sibling and friendship ties, I’ll match them up in a duel to the death. Those who survive shall go on to serve Loputousu as faithful new inhabitants of the empire.”

Ishtar:
“But what about Emperor Alvis? He has made it clear that he is strictly opposed to any child hunts.”

Yurius:
“Sheesh… Don’t worry about my father. Just let me handle this.”

Ishtar:
“Prince Julius…”

Hilda:
“Ishtar, where’s His Imperial Highness?”

Ishtar:
“Ah, mother… He just left for Barhara.”

Hilda:
“I see. I think he likes you, dear. You think he’ll ever make you his princess?”

Ishtar:
“I don’t know.”

Hilda:
“Ishtar, you listen up! We Freeges are of noble rank within Grandbell. And I’m originally from Velthomer, just as the Imperial family is. Who could possibly make a more worthy partner for His Highness than yourself!?”

Ishtar:
“Yes, mother.”

Hilda:
“Now, on to these rebels… the ones responsible for killing my husband and my dear Ishtor. They stole Alster from us, as well. Celice and his family shall forever remain the Freege’s bitter enemy! Ishtar, I’ll stay here to confront the rebel army when they arrive. You go on back to Miletos and get the children ready to send to the capital.”

Ishtar:
“Yes, mother.”

Dark mage:
“Your Highness, the mages are finally in position. However, a few children did slip past us in the disorder. How shall we handle it?”

Hilda:
“They what!? I don’t believe it… Well, I’ll have them all killed as a lesson to the others. Send my orders to General Ridale at Rados Castle to execute all escapees.”

(Outside)

Girl:
“Hey, where can we hide?”

Boy:
“How should I know!?”

Girl:
“But if they catch us… they’re gonna…”

Boy:
“Now, don’t cry. It’ll be alright. The crusaders will save us, you’ll see!”

Girl:
“Yeah, I guess. I can’t wait till they get here!”

(Rados)

Morigan:
“General Ridale, Queen Hilda has sent orders for you to enter battle.”

Ridale:
“It’s about time. These child hunts have been an absolute waste of my battalion’s time. Not to mention that I’m bored to death. Well, you have fun while we’re gone.”

Morigan:
“I hate to break this to you, but you’re to capture and execute a few children who’ve escaped.”

Ridale:
“…You’ve got to be kidding.”

Morigan:
“As a soldier of the empire, you really haven’t a choice now, do you… Unless you’re considering betraying His Majesty…”

Ridale:
“Er… No, of course not. I would never even think it. Alright, we’ll leave at once.”

Morigan:
“Hmph… Damn military types.”

(Peruluke)

Manfroy:
“Princess Yuria… I’ve been looking for you.”

Yuria:
“Hmm? Who are you?”

Manfroy:
“Heh heh… You’ve no memory of me, do you… It’s just as well. Now come!”

Yuria:
“No way. Let… let go of me!”

Manfroy:
“No use in resisting, my dear. Now come along quietly.”

Yuria:
“No… stop it… Prince Celice, help!!”

(Somewhere else in Peruluke)

Levin:
“Celice, some kids managed to flee Chronos. They’ll be hunted down if we don’t act fast.”

Celice:
“Really!? We’d better get going then. We’ve got to save as many as we can.”

Levin:
“Also… I can’t seem to find Yuria anywhere.”

Celice:
“She’s gone? How could that be!? She was just here…”

Levin:
“I’m guessing the enemy found her. I can’t help think otherwise. What could they possibly want with her…”

Celice:
“Yuria… Wherever you may be… We’ll find you!”

Turn 1 – Enemy Phase

(Outside Rados)

Ridale:
“I see no particular need to rush… Alright, let’s move out.”

Saving the Children Outside Chronos

Child:
“The liberation army? Yes! You came for us!”

Child:
“Wow, it’s the liberation army! How cool!!”

Child:
“You’re a crusader? Could’ve fooled me.”

Child:
“Oh, thank you… I was so scared!”

Child:
“You’re with the liberation army? Wow, great!”

Child:
“Thanks for saving me!”

Conquering Chronos (Before Conquering Rados)

Celice:
“Levin, did you find the children?”

Levin:
“No. I’m guessing they were moved to Miletos. We need to move. Their lives are in danger. However, in order to be able to open the gate to Miletos, we’ll need to have control of Rados.”

Celice:
“Got it. Our next goal is to take Rados Castle.”

Conquering Chronos (After Conquering Rados)

Celice:
“Levin, did you find the children?”

Levin:
“No. I’m guessing they were moved to Miletos. We need to move. Their lives are in danger.”

Conquering Rados

Celice:
“Geez, it’s like a ghost town here.”

Levin:
“Yeah, Morigan’s mages massacred all those who tried to resist.”

Celice:
“That’s horrible! I can’t believe it…”

Levin:
“Celice, now you know why we must fight. There’s just no room for good people to exist in the Loputo Empire.”

(If Chronos has been conquered)

Levin:
“It seems that the gate to Miletos will be open soon. What do you want to do, Celice?”

Celice:
“We should head for Miletos, of course. I’m worried about the children… and Yuria as well.”

Levin:
“And then, on to Grandbell!”

Enemy Phase After Conquering Both Chronos and Rados

(Miletos)

Alvis:
“Ishtar, it’s good to see you. How are things?”

Ishtar:
“Your Majesty! What brings you here?”

Alvis:
“Ishtar… I know you can do better than this. Now release the children.”

Ishtar:
“But I have orders from Prince Yurius…”

Alvis:
“I’ll inform Yurius myself. Don’t you worry about him.”

Ishtar:
“But…”

Alvis:
“That’s an order, Ishtar! Do you have a problem taking orders from me!?”

Ishtar:
“No… of course not.”

Yurius:
“I can’t have you interfering like this, father. Ishtar works for me.”

Alvis:
“Yurius! I’ve had about enou-“

Yurius:
“You still don’t get it, do you… You’re too old, father. Don’t you think it’s time you retired? Or do you still have thoughts of banishing me from the empire?[“

Alvis:
“No… I know how far that got me. You do as you please.”

Yurius:
“Alright, then quit hanging around here and get on back to your own castle! If I’m not mistaken you have Chalphy Castle to defend!”

Alvis:
“…”

Manfroy:
“Heh heh… He’s emperor in name only, I see… Such a wretched fool.”

Yurius:
“Manfroy, how’s my twin sister? Did you get her memories back?”

Manfroy:
“Yes, everything with Yuria went smoothly. She’s being held at Chalphy Castle. She clearly remembers how, when you were children, you left her for dead… As well as her mother warping her outside the castle walls.”

Yurius:
“Hmph… Yeah, Diadora just sort of accepted the idea of being killed by her own son. But she did manage to muster enough power to save Yuria before I could finish her off. Yuria inherited the power of Lord Narga from Deirdre, not I. That’s why we must kill her… while we have the chance.”

Manfroy:
“But the Book of Narga is sealed up at Barhara… I cannot envision Lord Narga somehow residing within the girl, as well.”

Yurius:
“You just don’t get it, do you… The incarnate of Narga flows within the Heim’s royal blood. We must wipe every last one of them from the planet!”

Manfroy:
“Alright, then. I’ll have her executed at once, Your Highness.”

Yurius:
“Don’t you slip up, Manfroy. Alright, I need to head back to Barhara.”

Manfroy:
“I’ll place the entire sect behind holding the region. And I’ll see to it that we bring before you the corpse of Celice.”

Yurius:
“Celice… People refer to him as the Prince of Light…. and me the Prince of Darkness. They believe we both share the same mother somehow and that he is first in the line of succession to Grandbell’s throne! Only a fool would believe such nonsense.”

Manfroy:
“The consequences would be disastrous if he were allowed to live. We must kill him!”

Yurius:
“Yeah, well, he only inherits the power of Crusader Baldo… I’m not all too concerned about him, but you do as you please.”

Manfroy:
“Yes…”

Ishtar:
“Your Highness…”

Yurius:
“Ishtar, I’m leaving the dark bishop in charge. Let’s be on our way. Hey, let’s have a little fun first. I’d say one of the rebels would make a nice blood offering. Shall we have a little test of skill to see who can make the quickest kill?”

Ishtar:
“I’m all for that!”

Yurius Kills Someone

Yurius:
“Heh heh… Looks like I won, Ishtar.”

Ishtar:
“You were wonderful, Your Highness!”

Yurius “Dies”

Yurius:
“Enough playing around. We’re out of here, Ishtar.”

Ishtar:
“Yes, Your Highness.”

Ishtar Kills Someone

Ishtar:
“Ha ha… looks like I won, Your Highness.”

Yurius:
“Hmph… nice work, Ishtar. I’m impressed.”

Ishtar “Dies”

Yurius:
“You didn’t fare too well… It’s time we leave!”

Conquering Miletos

Levin:
“Celice, we’re too late. The kids must have already been taken to Grandbell.”

Celice:
“No… We missed them again?”

Levin:
“I don’t think it could’ve been helped, Celice. The bridge over the Miletos Channel will soon be down. Get ready to advance on Chalphy.”

Celice:
“Chalphy… At last, I can finally see where my father came from.”

Levin:
“Let’s keep moving then. I’m sure the people are greatly anticipating your arrival.”

Celice:
“Alright then. Onward to Chalphy!”

(End of phase, Chalphy)

Alvis:
“Bishop Palmark, take the children and get out of here.”

Palmark:
“Pardon me? You mean you’re setting them free!?”

Alvis:
“That’s right. Yurius’ people will be here soon from Barhara. You must leave immediately!”

Palmark:
“Y, yes, Your Majesty! You have my sincerest blessings.”

Alvis:
“I also want you to hold on to this.”

Palmark:
“B, but, isn’t this the…”

Alvis:
“You once served under Sigurd, correct… I think you know what to do with it.”

Palmark:
“Yes, Your Majesty. I believe I do.”

Alvis:
“Then get going… And keep those children safe!”

Yuria:
“Father…”

Alvis:
“Yuria, I’ve been awful to you. You must hate me by now. Can you ever forgive me?”

Yuria:
“Father! I’ve never felt that way about you! I’ve always thought of you as a kind man.”

Alvis:
“No… I’ve been such a fool. Manfroy’s been using me all along. But by the time I realised what was going on, it was too late. Yurius is the reincarnation of the Dark Lord Loputousu. He murdered my beloved Diadora and had the same fate in store for you…”

Yuria:
“Yes. Mother used her last drop of energy to warp me away from Yurius. I must have lost my memories over the shock of it all. I’m glad Levin found me. But I still just break down and cry when I think about what Yurius did to mother…”

Alvis:
“Yuria, I could talk to you for hours, but you can’t stay here. It’s far too dangerous. I want you to escape with Bishop Palmark.”

Manfroy:
“That’s not likely to happen. Yuria will be accompanying me back to Velthomer. If Your Majesty has a problem following Prince Yurius’ orders, she’ll be put to death.”

Alvis:
“You’ll what!? Just who the hell do you think you’re talking to!?”

Manfroy:
“Heh heh heh… It’s high time you realise the order of things. You’re no longer anything but a mere servant to Prince Yurius. If you wish to avoid any further anguish, you’ll succumb to His Highness’ every wish. I’ll also see to it that the children you released are all dead by sundown. Mwahahaa!”

Yuria:
“Father!!”

Alvis:
“Yuria, I’m powerless against these people. Take this circlet… It belonged to your mother. It’s your only hope for protec-“

Manfroy:
“What are you two going on about!? Yuria, you’ll come with me at once!”

Yuria:
“No… Father!”

(Where Palmark and the children have run to)

Palmark:
“H, hurry up! We’ve no time to rest!”

Girl:
“But reverend, we can’t go any further!”

Boy:
“Those dark mages are coming for us… We’re all going to die!”

Palmark:
“We’ll be alright once Prince Celice arrives. You mustn’t lose faith in the crusaders!”

Celice Talks with Palmark

Celice:
“Reverend, are you alright?”

Palmark:
“Your Highness! Oh, how I’ve waited for you to come! I held out as best I could in order to give you this. Here… it belongs to you.”

Celice:
“W, what is this!?”

Palmark:
“It’s the Holy Tailfing… heirloom of the Chalphy family.”

Celice:
“…how did you get it?”

Palmark:
“I wish I could tell you, but I gave a solemn oath not to speak of where it came from.”

Celice:
“I see… Well, that’s okay. I’m just grateful to have it. So this is the Tailfing… I can feel the power swelling from it…”

Palmark:
“Your Highness, you must reclaim Chalphy Castle at once. The townsfolk have waited far too long for this day to come.”

Celice:
“I’ll do that, reverend. With this holy sword in hand, I’ve nothing to fear now!”

Conquering Chalphy

Levin:
“Celice, well done. Look at everybody! The townspeople came in droves to celebrate your return. Look how happy they are!”

Celice:
“Yeah… I’ve finally reached my true homeland. It’s a good feeling. But I also feel somewhat empty inside.”

Levin:
“You’re worried about Yuria, aren’t you… You really like her, don’t you…”

Celice:
“No, I’m just worried about her.”

Levin:
“Several townspeople said they saw Bishop Manfroy take off with her. She must still be in Grandbell somewhere.”

Celice:
“Levin, I know I should be happy now that my father’s death has been avenged, but I still don’t feel right somehow.”

Levin:
“That’s because this war is not yet over with. Actually, the real battle, the holy war, is just on the horizon. See this war through, Celice. You’ll find the answers you seek. Trust me.”

Villages

Villager:
“Oh my… the crusaders! Please, you must save our children!! They are to be… sob… sacrificed to the Dark Lord!”

Villager:
“That Queen Hilda of Chronos is wicked to the core. She began abducting kids after allying with this dark bishop. She kills the mothers, too, without a blink of an eye! That woman’s not even human. I’d say she’s more like a devil!”

Villager:
“The war between the Loputo Empire and the 12 Crusaders wore on for 15 long years. The battle ended up dragging the entire continent into its fold. At long last Saint Heim overcame the Dark Lord’s incarnation, Emperor Galle the Seventeenth. Thus peace was restored to the land. …However, the Dark Lord has once again been resurrected. Crusaders, do protect us!”

Villager:
“These sacrificial rituals didn’t show up until just recently. Before that Emperor Alvis wouldn’t allow them… What in tarnation happened!? Here, I’m giving you this Magic Ring in good conscience. Please save the children!”

Villager:
“That Prince Yurius just sends chills down my spine. That gaze of his draws you in, and you just totally lose yourself in it. I’ve had many friends leave for Barhara to worship him, but now they’re all missing…”

Villager:
“None of you stand a chance against the Imperial Prince Yurius in your present condition. As unfortunate as it may be, you may need to make a sacrifice to get where you’re going.”

Celice Meets the Ghosts of His Parents (Parents’ Ghosts)

???:
“Celice… Celice…..”

Celice:
“Who… who’s calling me?”

???:
“…Oh, how you’ve grown, Celice.”

Celice:
“M, mother!? Mother, is that you?”

Diadora:
“…Ah, Levin has done such a fine job with you. …Celice, always treasure those in your presence. Honour each and every one of them.”

Celice:
“Y, yes, mother! Hey, I slew Emperor Alvis! I’ve finally avenged father’s death!”

Diadora:
“…I see. …What then of Yurius and Yuria?”

Celice:
“Yurius and Yuria? Do you know where they are!?”

Diadora:
“…”

Celice:
“Mother?”

Sigurd:
“…Celice…”

Celice:
“Who’s th-“
Father? Is that you!?

Sigurd:
“…Celice, don’t let Alvis’ death go to your head. His defeat wasn’t by your hand alone.”

Celice:
“Huh? Father, what’s that supposed to mean?”

Sigurd:
“…Get to know the people’s sorrow. Your reality and theirs are still worlds apart. …If you can’t accomplish that, Celice, then this whole war has been for nothing.”

Celice:
“F, father! Please… wait a second!!”

???:
“…Take care of yourself, my son.”

Celice:
“Mother…”

Conversations

Lester with Patty

Lester:
“Hey, Patty. You’re looking lovely as usual.”

Patty:
Lester… put a lid on it.”

Lester:
“Geez… Why’re you such a grouch all the time?”

Patty:
“I just get tired of you teasing me, Lester. That’s all.”

Lester:
“Do I do that?”

Patty:
“Yeah, you do. You don’t even treat me like the other girls.”

Lester:
“You’re a girl!?”

Patty:
“…you creep!!”

Lester:
“Hey, it’s just a joke… C’mon, don’t get so angry. I’m sorry, okay? I guess I just sort of like you, that’s all. So I just sort of… you know.”

Patty:
“What do you mean, you ‘like’ me!?”

Lester:
‘Like’ as in ‘not hate’! Need me to repeat it!?

Nanna with Leaf

Nanna:
“Your Highness, everything’s so run-down. I used to always hear how wealthy the Miletos District was.”

Leaf:
“Yeah… I never imagined the empire would have had this much an impact. This area was known to be the commercial centre for miles around. I’m sure it thrived during more peaceful times.”

Nanna:
“I always wanted to see the beautiful towns of Miletos and all its unique shops… I bet it was wonderful!”

Leaf:
Nanna, let’s make our way back here once the peace has been restored.”

Nanna:
“What do you mean?”

Leaf:
“I was told my parents once came to Miletos, and my father picked out a beautiful pearl tiara for my mother.”

Nanna:
“How nice…”

Leaf:
“I’d like to do the same for you someday.”

Nanna:
“Your Highness!”

Leaf:
“Geez… What am I saying? I’ve got to keep my focus on the battle at hand. There is an end in sight, Nanna. For now just give it all you’ve got!”

Nanna:
“Yes, Your Highness!”

Shanan with Celice

Shanan:
“Celice, you’ve gotten seriously tough. It’s no wonder, since you are the son of Sir Sigurd and Diadora… I’ve nothing more I can show you.”

Celice:
“I’ve got you to thank for everything, Shanan. You’re the one who brought me up with the sword.”

Shanan:
“Yeah, right. Hey, forget I even…”

Celice:
“Are you alright, Shanan? You look tired. I wish I could give you some of my strength…”

Shanan:
“Hey, don’t treat me like some old man. I can still run circles around you, you know…”

Celice:
“Er… sorry. I didn’t mean it like that.”

Shanan:
“Nah, don’t sweat it. It’s kind of you all the same.”

Faval with Rana

Faval:
“Hey, you’re pretty tough for such a small thing. You’re not scared being out here?”

Rana:
“Well, I’d be lying to say I wasn’t. But when I think of those poor children…”

Faval:
“You like kids, huh?”

Rana:
“Yeah, I really do. You were taking care of orphans before, weren’t you? That’s so wonderful, Faval.”

Faval:
“Yeah, well that was Patty‘s idea, not mine. I’m really not all that big on kids, you see.”

Rana:
“Hah… I know better than that. I saw all those crying children clinging to you when we were leaving the Manster District. You’re like a father to them, you know.”

Faval:
“S, stop it, would you? I just… Look, I gotta get going. I’ll see you around.”

(Faval leaves)

Rana:
“Haha… You’re a good guy, Faval.”

Leaf with Altenna

Leaf:
“Altenna, are you alright? You look tired, or something.”

Altenna:
“Ah, Leaf… No, it’s nothing really.”

Leaf:
“Well, if you’re sure… But if there’s ever anything I can ever do for you, just let me know.”

Altenna:
“Thanks, Leaf. Actually, I was just thinking about Areone…”

Leaf:
“I thought so… I heard someone came along and just took off with him.”

Altenna:
“I heard it was Prince Yurius.”

Leaf:
“The Imperial Prince Yurius!? But why?”

Altenna:
“I imagine he’s trying to sway Areone over to his side.”

Leaf:
“So it’s safe to assume we’ll be facing Dragon Knights once again…”

Altenna:
“Yes, I’m afraid that’s a possibility.”

Leaf:
“Well, I don’t think it’s such a bad thing, Altenna.”

Altenna:
“Huh? Why’s that?”

Leaf:
“Because Areone is still alive. That means there’s still hope. Don’t give up just yet, Altenna. Things are bound to get better with time.”

Altenna:
“Thanks, Leaf. I think that’s just what I needed to hear.”

Leaf:
“Well, good. I just hate to see you down. I want you to be happy. Whatever it takes, I’m here for you, Altenna.”

Oifey with Celice

Oifey:
“Your Highness, the Duchy of Chalphy is just beyond Miletos Channel.”

Celice:
“My father’s homeland… Oifey, you must be glad to be getting back.”

Oifey:
“I am. I have so many memories from that place. Sir Sigurd and Princess Ethlin… Noish, Alec and all the younger soldiers I hung around with. They were all such good people.”

Celice:Hm… I can’t imagine. I’ve never even been there.

Oifey:
“That’s right. You were born in Agustria and then grew up in Silesia and Isaac. Come to think of it, you’ve never set foot anywhere in Grandbell, have you…”

Celice:
“Yeah. I feel I’ve cheated the people somehow by me being a Prince of Grandbell and all.”

Oifey:
“I know it’s difficult, but try to understand what they’ve had to go through. The atrocity they’ve suffered is beyond words. That’s why they desperately await the coming of their saviour.”

Celice:
“And that’s supposed to be me?”

Oifey:
“Yes, it is. They’ve been praying for the second coming of Sigurd the Hero. They believe he has returned as the fabled child born of himself and Empress Diadora.”

Celice:
“The fabled child… People scare me at times, Oifey, looking at me like I’m a god or something.”

Oifey:Just see it as a sign of how brutal the empire’s rule has been on them. Even in Miletos children are being abducted. Parents who resist are murdered outright. It’s truly the work of evil forces… not of mankind.

Celice:
“Oifey, do you believe Emperor Alvis is the Dark Lord Loputousu?”

Oifey:
“A lot of people seem to think so, but I don’t.”

Celice:
“Do you think it’s Manfroy, then?”

Oifey:
“Your Highness… the revival of the Dark Lord is well underway. We must hurry. The people revere you as a”
crusader, Your Highness. It’s time to heed their cries.

Celice with Fee

Celice:
“Fee, Levin wants a word with you. I’ll be right over here if you need anything.”

Levin:
“Fee… you’re stubborn, you know that? You’re just like your mother.”

Fee:
“Grr…”

Levin:
“Hey, don’t get angry. Look, I’m sorry I ignored you.”

Fee:
“Father, you are so cruel! When I first saw you at Rivough Castle, I could hardly believe my eyes! I was so happy… I was in tears! But you wouldn’t speak to me! Do you have any idea how horrible that’s made me feel!?”

Levin:
“So… what? You’ve just been pretending not to notice me all this time?”

Fee:
“I decided I wasn’t going to talk to you unless you approached me first.”

Levin:
“Damn, you’re stubborn, girl.”

Fee:
“Why, you! That’s it! You just forget you ever had a daughter!! If you weren’t such a jerk, mum still might be…”

Levin:
“Fee, look, I’m sorry about Fury… But what went on between the two of us is really none of yours or Sety’s damn business!”

Fee:
“Father!”

Levin:
“Fee, the only thing you need to concern yourself with is winning this war! Got it!?”

Celice with Leen

Celice:
“Leen, Levin wants a word with you. I’ll be right over here if you need anything.”

Levin:
“Leen, take it easy out here. You’d send the boys crying if you ever scratched that beautiful face of yours.”

Leen:
“Hey, Levin. Did you know my mum?”

Levin:
“Huh? Why would I know your mum?”

Leen:
‘Cause you seem to know everything.

Levin:
“You want to know about your mum, huh…”

Leen:
“Yes! And my dad too!”

Levin:
“Leen, you are who you are… Don’t worry yourself too much about who your parents were. I will tell you this, though. Your parents loved each other like nothing else. They parted during a very rough time, but they still look over you, Leen. Trust me, they do.”

Leen:
“Yeah… Ever since I was little I felt as if someone was watching out for me. That was my father, wasn’t it… Why won’t he show himself to me!? It’s lonely not knowing who your parents are your whole life…”

Levin:
“Leen…”

Celice with Tinny

Celice:
“Tinny, Levin wants a word with you. I’ll be right over here if you need anything.”

Levin:
“Tinny, Hilda was your aunt, wasn’t she? It must be tough being out here.”

Tinny:
“No, I’m fine with it. Queen Hilda was an evil, evil person.”

Levin:
“What, did she treat you bad or something?”

Tinny:
“Yeah. She always used to beat me and call me names, and she said my mother a traitor.”

Levin:
“That would’ve been Tiltyu…”

Tinny:
“Yes. She and Arthur escaped to Silesia after the Battle of Barhara. Then she had me. But I was told my father passed away…”

Levin:
“Is that right… So you came to the Alster Kingdom after all that?”

Tinny:
“Well, we didn’t go there willingly. We were taken by force by King Blume’s men. And then that’s where my mother died.”

Levin:
“You sure haven’t had it easy, have you…”

Tinny:
“Yeah… Anyway, Hilda really had it in for my mum. My mum put up with so much to keep me safe. A day didn’t go by that she wasn’t crying…”

Levin:
“Geez… That’s horrible.”

Tinny:
“Levin… are you okay?”

Levin:
“Huh? Why do you ask?”

Tinny:
“I don’t know. It kinda looks like you’re crying.”

Levin:
“No, I’m… it’s… it must just be sweat. It’s nothing…”

Corple with Altenna

Corple:
“Your Highness, you haven’t gotten hurt, have you?”

Altenna:
“Oh, Corple… Thanks for your concern. I’m fine. You be careful too, now. Don’t be too reckless out here.”

Corple:
“Um… Your Highness?”

Altenna:
“Yes?”

Corple:
“With your permission I’d like to cast a Magic Shield over you.”

Altenna:
“Ah… you’re worried because my resistance is low, aren’t you… But isn’t that a dangerous spell to cast? Look, that’s kind of you, Corple, but I don’t want you to hurt yourself.”

Corple:
“Your Highness, I never knew my real mother… But you’ve always been there for me. Please… I’m just trying to help you!!”

Altenna:
“Alright, Corple. If it means that much to you… But promise me that at the very first sign of trouble you back out. Understood?”

Corple:
“You got a deal! Don’t worry, I’ll be extra careful!”

Altenna:
“Shall we proceed then?”

Corple:
“Sure. Okay, now just be calm… O Lord Blagi… Bestow upon this woman your venerated strength.”
