When Side Story is available, Mamori will send Itsuki a Topic. The conversation is as follows:

Mamori: Itsuki, could you come by Daitama for a bit? Something's happened...

Mamori: Tmsfe-sticker 10.png

If kept waiting, Mamori will send another Topic:

Mamori: Itsuki, something's happened. Can I talk to you about it...? I'll be waiting in Daitama...

Daitama Observatory

To initiate Side Story, speak to Mamori.

Mamori: Itsuki... It's happening again... The show is-- I... I don't know what to do...

The player is given the choice whether to accept the Side Story or not.

If the player chooses "no":

Itsuki: Can we talk later?

Mamori: Nnh...

Conversation ends, Side Story unaccepted.

If the player chooses "yes":

Itsuki: I'll help you out.

Mamori: It's happening again... Again!

Itsuki: What is?

Mamori: Another tone shift... And this time, they want me to do actual cooking...!

Itsuki: Now that you mention it, "Mamorin" is a cooking show, but you rarely do any real cooking in it...

Mamori: "Microwavin' with Mamorin" is a new-age cooking show that took parental complaints into consideration... Some of those included "Letting children use knives is dangerous," or "A gas stove isn't for kids."

Itsuki: You learn something new every day...

Mamori: But the producer started being unreasonable and said that this is a cooking show, so let's actually cook. He's completely lost sight of the show...

Itsuki: True... By the way, Mamori, can you cook?

Mamori: ... Not at all.

The player is given two options on how to respond:

  • I'm sure you can do it.
  • You just need to practice.

If the player chooses option 1:

Itsuki: I'm sure you can do it. Think about everything you've accomplished until now. You'll be cooking in no time.

Mamori: Ah... Right!

If the player chooses option 2:

Itsuki: You just need to practice. Think about everything you've accomplished until now. You'll be cooking in no time.

Mamori: Ah... Right!

Regardless of what option the player chose:

Draug's Voice: That will not do. As Mamori's Mirage, I cannot agree to this.

Mamori: Mr. Draug!?

Draug's Voice: Mamori, I wish to speak to you. Please come to the Bloom Palace. Sir Itsuki, can you join as well?

Itsuki: I'll be there.

Bloom Palace

Itsuki, Mamori, Draug, and Tiki are all conversing.

Itsuki: Don't tell me. Are you going to say that cooking is dangerous too, Draug?

Draug: That is absolutely correct. One could lose a finger to a knife... Burn oneself with fire... Sneeze from pepper! Danger abounds in the kitchen.

Mamori: But Mr. Draug, I-

Draug: Please listen, Mamori. All I wish to say is that you must have a safety measure in place if you are to do this.

Mamori: Huh?

Draug: It would be terrible if you were to improperly use a knife and harm yourself. It is my duty to protect you.

Mamori: Uh-huh.

Draug: Now then, what is the best means to secure absolute safety for you...? I consulted Lady Tiki on this matter.

Tiki: And I recommended Gaius's Paring Knife.

Itsuki: What's that?

Tiki: It's a legendary blade that boasts the ultimate cutting edge.

Mamori: Wouldn't that make things more dangerous?

Draug: Not in the least. It is far more dangerous to use a half-dull knife. If we can prepare this safety knife for Mamori, I shall give my seal of approval.

Mamori: Then, it'll be okay for me to cook if we can get this paring knife?

Draug: Honestly, I wish there were countermeasures for burns and sneezes as well, but I shall leave those be. I do wish to cheer you on as you challenge new things, after all.

Itsuki: Tiki, how can we our hands on this Gaius's-Paring-Knife thing?

Editor's note: This sentence is missing a "get" in between "we" and "our".

Tiki: Um, if you bring back an ore that's found in Illusory Daitou TV Station, I can make it.

Itsuki: Got it. Let's go, Mamori.

Mamori: You'll help me with this?

Itsuki: I promised that I'd lend you my help.

Mamori: Great! Thank you so much!

Gameplay is resumed. Tiki sends Itsuki a Topic. The conversation is as follows:

Tiki: Let me remind you what you need so you don't forget, big brother.

Tiki: The material needed for making Gaius's Paring Knife is an ore found in Illusory Daitou TV Station...

Tiki: It's the Illusory Obsidian.

Tiki: Be careful on your way!

Tiki: Tmsfe-sticker 20.png

Illusory Daitou TV Station

Mamori: The ore Tiki mentioned can be found here, right?

Draug: Correct.

Mamori: I'll do my best!

Draug: Let us proceed onward!

Gameplay is resumed. Tiki sends a Topic. The conversation is as follows:

Tiki: The Illusory Obsidian is a rare ore, so why not look for it somewhere you haven't gone before, big brother?

The Illusory Obsidian is found on the first floor of film set B, located in a room with two treasure chests.

Mamori: This must be it!

Itsuki: We did it, Mamori.

Draug: Are you all right, Mamori? If you are unsure about this...

Mamori: No, I want to do it, especially if it'll help make the show better.

Draug: I-I see.

Itsuki: You're such a worrier, Draug.

Draug: Of course I am. Mamori is my Master. She is somewhere who I must protect with my life. Normally, I am overshadowed by that man, but I shall not be outdone in regard to my love for Mamori.

Mamori: Mr. Draug...

Draug: Now, let us return. Lady Tiki is waiting for us.

Gameplay is resumed. Speak to Tiki.

Bloom Palace

Tiki: Did you bring the material for the knife?

Itsuki: If you please, Tiki.

Tiki: Leave it to me! I'll immediately get to making the knife with this!

Tiki sets the ore on the altar and performs a spell, turning the ore into the Gaius's Parting Knife.

Tiki: ... Hrah! Here you go! This is Gaius's Parting Knife. Make sure you use it with caution!

The player is given two options on how to respond:

  • Thanks, Tiki.
  • What was that pose just now?

If the player chooses option 1:

Itsuki: Thanks, Tiki. You're a big help.

If the player chooses option 2:

Itsuki: What was that pose just now?

Tiki: Geez, don't worry about that!

Regardless of what option the player chose:

Mamori: ... So this is it? It's so pretty... Thank you, Tiki.

Tiki: Ehehe, it's nothing.

Itsuki: How's it feel, Mamori?

Mamori: It's great...! I feel like I really can cook now...! Hrmmmmmm...!

Eleonora appears from the entrance.

Eleonora: Mamori! Can you come back for a moment!? The producer's here to see you!

Itsuki: The producer? I wonder what's wrong... Anyway, we should go.

Mamori: Right...

Fortuna Office

Program Producer: I am sooo sorry, Mamori-baby. It's about the cooking thing... Can we put it on hold for a bit?

Mamori: Huh?

Program Producer: Well... I got scolded for the idea. The higher-ups were like, "What're you gonna do when parents complain again?"

Mamori: Then, the cooking part is...

Program Producer: Yeah... we're scrapping the idea!

Mamori: !!!

Program Producer: Oh, but don't worry your pretty little head! I'm not scrapping the idea about the shift in tone or anything!

Mamori: ...

Mamori starts to shake her fists.

Itsuki: Mamori?

Program Producer: I know! What about a Microwavin' panda for the show!

Mamori: ...

Maiko: Um, Mamori... are you okay?

Program Producer: You know, what if you get you in a panda suit and have you dance around in it? How 'bout it, Mamori-baby?

Mamori: ... will that do...

Program Producer: Mascots are the in thing these days" We should jump on that wagon too, Mamori-baby! Cell-phone charms and all!

Mamori: ... What good will that do?

Program Producer: Eh? Something wrong?

Mamori: WHAT GOOD WITH THAT DO!?

A fiery aura starts to emanate from Mamori's back.

Program Producer: Eek!

Mamori: This show is about "Microwavin'"! And it's about "Mamorin"! I've had it with all this!

Program Producer: M-Mamori-baby... don't lose your cool...

Mamori:I'LL LOSE AS MANY COOLS AS I WANT! And what's with you every single time!? You keep pushing impossible demands on me and leave me to deal with them!

Program Producer: Eek!

Maiko: Such intensity...

Itsuki: She's gone through a lot until now, after all.

Mamori: Hmph!

Program Producer: Eek! B-But if the panda idea's a no-go... what else should we do...?

Mamori: Then...

The fiery aura dissipates.

Mamori: The please let me sing! I'm good at singing!

Program Producer: Singing?

Mamori: If I can sing a catchy song that the viewers can easily learn, I'm certain it'll make the show even better.

Program Producer: I see.

Mamori: I want to make this show better as much as I can too, you know! So... please!

Mamori unlocks a new Perfoma: My Creation.

Itsuki: Oh...

Program Producer: ... Let's go with that.

Mamori: Really?

Program Producer: Yeah, that's a totally great idea! You're right! You're the Microwavin' Idol after all!

Mamori: Yay!

Program Producer: Well then, I'll immediately take that idea to the show's committee! See you later, Mamori-baby!

Mamori: Okay! Thank you for everything!

The producer leaves.

Maiko: It all worked out... I guess?

Mamori: Of course!

Itsuki: Good for you, Mamori.

Mamori: Itsuki... I feel like I've taken another step forward!

Tiki sends a Topic. The conversation is as follows:

Tiki: I worried about what was going to happen, but I'm glad it worked out!

Tiki: Let's perform a Unity on Mamori's new Perfoma at once!

Bloom Palace

Mamori learns the new Radiant Unity Skill: Door of Dreams.

Draug: I was quite surprised that you were able to assert yourself so well. You've grown quite strong, Mamori.

Mamori: That's not true, Mr. Draug. I'm just able to honestly speak my mind now...

Draug: That is great progress. There aren't many people who can accomplish what you've done.

Mamori: Do you think so...? But if that's true, then I believe it's because you and everyone else helped train me.

Draug: Perhaps that man's presence was exceptionally special?

Mamori: I-It's not that Itsuki is special or- Ack!

Draug: Heh heh...

Mamori: ... You may be right though. Itsuki's words encouraged me like they were magical.

Draug: You've met a wonderful person.

Mamori: Yes!

Draug: Also, Mamori... have you grown a little taller?

Mamori: Really!? Yay!

Draug: It's quite a joyous occasion. Yet... it also fills me with sadness. ... So, this is how the young grow into adulthood.

A cinematic of Microwavin' with Mamorin plays, and Mamori is seen singing "Raindop Memories".

Fortuna Office

Maiko: "Mamorin's Open Mic-rowave" has quickly turned into a standard part of her show, hasn't it? The show's ratings have been soaring, and the number of Mamori's fans have rocketed too.

Barry: Your song is the best as always, Mamori!

Maiko: He's right... Your singing's charming no matter when I hear it...

Mamori: Ehehe... Thank you.

Maiko: Who would have thought that singing a ballad with this costume would make such an interesting combination?

Barry: That's what makes it great! You just don't understand, Maiko! It's been a cultural tradition in Japan since time immemorial to appreciate the unexpected traits!

Maiko: Yes, yes... But to think that episode of "Mamorin" would lead to something like this... "Popular idol in children's cooking show sings unexpected ballad of sorrow. To appear in national ballad show..."

Mamori: ... My dream has finally come true. It's thanks to your support, Itsuki...

Itsuki: You had the talent to begin with. This was just from you mustering up your courage.

Mamori: Thank you! I'll try even harder to prepare for the singing contest too!

Itsuki: By the way, Mamori, what did you do with that knife?

Mamori: Oh, you mean Gaius's Paring Knife? It was a good opportunity, so I've been studying how to cook since then too.

Itsuki: Is this because of another tone shift?

Mamori: Oh, no! When a girl says that they want to learn how to cook, it's not just for their job. Actually... there's someone I wish to have eat my cooked meals.

The player is given two options on how to respond:

  • I'm jealous.
  • Is it Barry?

If the player chooses option 1:

Itsuki: Wow, I'm jealous. Whoever it is, they're lucky to have you cooking for them.

If the player chooses option 2:

Itsuki: Who could it be...? Is it Barry?

Regardless of what option the player chose:

Mamori: *Sigh* You really are dense, Itsuki.

Itsuki: What do you mean?

Mamori: It's a secret!

Job complete!
