Today, AGDQ 2016 Get Serenes Forest Representation

If you all recall my article from a few months back, I brought up the Awesome Games Done Quick series, and how our very own Gwimpage will be participating in it.

Well, that event begins today!

Many hardcore Fire Emblem fans probably remember Gwimpage‘s Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn speedrun for 2015’s Awesome Games Done Quick. Well, his latest submission has been accepted, and he’ll be speed-running FE9 (Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance| Any% Completion) in this year’s AGDQ. The event started one hour ago, and Gwimpage goes live in about 12 hours (11:10p EST), so if you have the opportunity, go to their site and watch, or join the iRC chat network to show your support and maybe even donate to the cause!

For those unfamiliar with AGDQ; it is part of the Games Done Quick organization.

Games Done Quick is a series of charity video game marathons. These events feature high-level play by speedrunners raising money for charity. Games Done Quick has teamed up with several charities in its five-year history, such as Doctors Without Borders and the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The most recent event in the series, SGDQ 2015 (Summer Games Done Quick), raised its highest amount to date; over $1.23 million for Doctors Without Borders.

The event schedule can be viewed here. Should you be able to attend, you totally should. Awesome Games Done Quick 2016 is the next event taking place in January, 2016. The event will be taking place from Jan 3, 2016 – Jan 10, 2016, at the Hilton Dulles Airport Hotel, in Herndon, VA.

For more representation, Serenes Forest’s very own Kirbymastah has been accepted for several speedruns, including Sonic Advance 3 (All Stages) and Metroid Fusion (Any% completion).
