Path of Radiance “Tellius Recollection” Update

Amazon Japan recently updated the product listing for the Path of Radiance artbook that was announced during the Cipher Series 5 pre-release livestream.

At the moment, the only image available is the front cover, which features a new piece of artwork of Ike by Senri Kita, the official artist for the two Tellius saga games. If you tuned into the Cipher livestream or read up about it, you may recognise it from there.

In addition, the book now has an “official” English name of sorts: Fire Emblem Path of Radiance Memorial Book Tellius Recollection: The First Volume. As hinted previously, the second volume will focus on the sequel, Radiant Dawn.

The text on the cover also informs prospective buyers that the Radiant Dawn edition is expected to release during Autumn 2016, so not long to go!

Here’s what the product description says about the first volume:

A compilation of official documents from developer Intelligent Systems. For the first time, official documents revealing three aspects of character designs will be revealed, such as their background in this world, and rough sketches of their original illustrations. In addition to that, this book features info on the full story, setting, every support conversation, a directory of character names (even enemy commanders), and much more. Everything you need to know about Path of Radiance wrapped up in one package. Senri Kita, the illustrator who drew all of the character artwork, makes a special return to draw the cover for this book, too!

Many thanks to Kirokan for the translation!

Finally, in case you missed it, the book contains 256 pages and will be on sale (in Japan) from 29th July 2016, for the price of 3,456 Yen.

By the way, if you’re interested in the development (and fan) side of Fire Emblem, be sure to give Kirokan’s website Kantopia a visit. Right now, Kirokan is translating pages from the 25th Anniversary Staff Book.

Also, if you liked our Making of Genealogy article, Kirokan has posted the full Tohru Narihiro interview section over here.

That looks bloody amazing! I sure hope they’ll be an English copy soon!

Autumn 2016 in what region? In which months the release date for the RD artbook could be? Thanks! I want to buy both Tellius artbooks together. This is a dream coming true for me. Now that we also have the OST, all that’s left is a remastered 1080p collection of the two games for the NX or Wii U. But since Zelda TP is the only remaster Nintendo ever made for a home console, this is very unlikely to happen. Also, an Elincia or Black Knight figurine would make me cry. The best two games in the series for me.

Both art books are Japan-only right now, so Autumn 2016 in Japan.

I’m afraid I can’t pinpoint the release months, but my gut feeling tells me October to December.

It’s very concerning that they call Kita the character designer, when Taeko Kaneda was very clear that other staff did the designs.

Good catch! I fixed the translation up a bit. I missed the “trator” in “illustrator”, and so fixed it to better reflect “the one who drew the character designs” (aka, “character artist”)

No worries, poor Taeko Kaneda wasn’t swept aside! xD

        No worries.

So, this is more similar to the “Making of” book? Lot of text and some pictures? Oh… I wanted to buy it, but if this have more text than picture, then I will pass since I don’t know japanese, but I hope someone share the important info!
