Apple Event! Nintendo Drops New Fire Emblem Mobile Info

At today’s Apple Event, Shigeru Miyamoto himself joined Apple team on stage to announce his first official video of Nintendo on iOS gameplay since Miitomo, and news about more coming Nintendo games.

Fire Emblem’s mobile installment was announced to be delayed, with a new expected release date of no later than the end of March, 2017. With their plan to release Super Mario Run first, during the 2016 Holiday Season, Fire Emblem Mobile will be available sometime between then.

Super Mario Run is now the first release planned, which includes several ways to play. The game itself will be released for as set price rather than as free, allowing unlimited play (as opposed to micro-transaction pay from games like Pokemon Shuffle and Miitomo, which lets you play for free for so many attempts per hour). Additionally, Super Mario “stickers” will be available for iMessage, which will be available for all iOS users.

What does this all mean for Fire Emblem Mobile fans? There is no word on anticipated release of these games for Android platforms as of yet, and there is also nothing confirming a lack of in-app purchases. A look at Super Mario Run’s iTunes listing shared the following info:

*This app offers in-app purchases. We permit our third-party partners to collect data from this app for analytical and marketing purposes.

While it’s not surprising, it’s still unconfirmed regardless.

We also have confirmation that Super Mario Run is designed for both iPhone and iPad. There’s a chance that Fire Emblem Mobile could be developed for AppleTV, but of course, no confirmation exists on this yet. There’s also no news about Fire Emblem stickers for iMessage, but since Nintendo is releasing them for Mario, there’s no reason to ignore the possibility that Fire Emblem might get their own as well.

Bottom line: Within six months, you can hang a [digital] Falchion from your belt.
