Cipher S7 Weekly Recap: Daily Cards, Nindori and Guidebook Info!

As we ramp up towards the Fire Emblem Cipher Series 7 release next week, the FECipher Twitter account has been very active, posting three of the four remaining Super Rare cards this week alone! The most recent was just showcased today: Eliwood from Blazing Sword, wielding Durandal.

Other reveals include a Ninian SR and Ursula R, both also from Blazing Sword, as well as some new cards for Fire Emblem Fates: Basara Oboro as our 3rd SR and Jakob R. Both Oboro and Ninian were expected to get SRs this set, the former for her popularity and the latter for her plot importance, but there’s still one unknown S7 SR remaining.

The January issue of Nintendo Dream was also released recently, keeping the information flowing. Thanks to forum user Aquantis for sharing the scans with us! Included within it were preview shots of a few more cards that have yet to be revealed, including previously-unseen artwork of Eliwood and Florina.

Other cards unveiled include unpromoted cards for Ryoma, Takumi, and Rebecca, as well as promoted cards for Ryoma and Hector. We’ve seen all of these artworks before, but this is the first time the full cards have been shown off, even if it’s a bit too small to make out a lot of details.

The magazine also confirms that the February issue of Nintendo Dream, which releases late December, will contain a S7 promo card, though it’s not yet been revealed. Presumably, the issue of Dengeki Nintendo that releases at the same time will also have a promo, since the two magazines tend to release Cipher promos in tandem.

The Series 7 Guidebook is also now available for pre-order from Amazon Japan and is scheduled for a December 31st release. The Cipher Guidebooks are fun for both players and collectors alike as they contain a card catalog, artwork from the set, previews for the next set, and other fun tidbits of information.

Additionally, the Guidebooks contain two copies of a unique promo card, though the promo card that will be available in the S7 book has yet to be revealed.

Tomorrow, December 3rd, will be the last big news push of Series 7 as the Cipher team hosts another NicoNico pre-release Livestream! If you’re interested in following along, the stream location is here.

Updates to the FE Cipher official website have revealed the full guest list. In addition to Ryota Kawade and Young as usual, we will be joined by Hagi Michihiko (Ike’s VA), Hidenori Takahashi (Odin/Owain’s VA), Eri Suzuki (Soleil’s VA), Rei Kondoh, Hiroki Morishita, and Takeru Kanazaki.

The final three guests were all composers who worked on the Fates soundtrack, and a tweet indicated that they may make a performance together during the livestream!

As usual for a pre-release livestream, it will likely focus on showing off some of the remaining unknown cards in the set, especially R+ and SR+ cards, as we’ve seen so few of them so far. For example, Hinoka’s SR+ is the only signed card currently revealed! We may also get more information on upcoming sets and Cipher events in Japan.

As usual, we’ll be reporting on the events of the livestream after it’s concluded, so look forward to it! It will likely be our last piece of Cipher news before the release date hits.

Speaking of which, Cipher Series 7 releases next week on December 8th! For more information about Cipher, including links and information on where to purchase cards outside of Japan, please check out my Newcomer’s Guide to FE Cipher.
