At long last, one of the worst kept secrets of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia has been revealed by Famitsu: a collaboration with 7-Eleven, a popular convenience store chain in Japan.
Between 24th May and 31st July, players can download a special item daily by using the in-store “7-Spot” Wi-Fi. These include an exclusive sword and shield (pictured above), as well as 6 provision items.
What’s special about the two pieces of equipment is that they boost a unit’s stats between the 7th and 11th turns. Meanwhile the provisions restore a lot of HP and Fatigue when consumed, making them useful for extended dungeon trips.
How to Receive
- You must be at Act 3 or later.
- From the world map menu, select Communications – Communication Settings – Receive Data.
- When asked “Do you want to download data from Internet?” select “Yes”.
- A “Gaudy Man” will appear at Zofia Castle (Alm) or Zofia Port (Celica).
- Speak to the Gaudy Man once a day to receive an exclusive item.
Note: The Gaudy Man will disappear afterwards and you may have to start from Step 2 again during each new day.

- Seven Shield (second encounter only)
- Chicken Salad (randomly selected)
- Mushroom Bread (randomly selected)
- Spicy Chicken (randomly selected)
- Mille Crepe (randomly selected)
- Grilled Chicken (randomly selected)
- Pure Honey (randomly selected)
To collect all 8 items, you therefore need to find the Gaudy Man at least 8 times. However, the provisions are randomly chosen and you can get duplicates, so it might take more tries than that. (You can try saving before speaking and soft-resetting if you get a duplicate.)
At the time of writing, it’s unclear if these items or a similar collaboration will be present in the Western release. Of course, we’ll let you know if we discover anything!
