Echoes: Japan to get 7-Eleven Collaboration Items

At long last, one of the worst kept secrets of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia has been revealed by Famitsu: a collaboration with 7-Eleven, a popular convenience store chain in Japan.

Between 24th May and 31st July, players can download a special item daily by using the in-store “7-Spot” Wi-Fi. These include an exclusive sword and shield (pictured above), as well as 6 provision items.

What’s special about the two pieces of equipment is that they boost a unit’s stats between the 7th and 11th turns. Meanwhile the provisions restore a lot of HP and Fatigue when consumed, making them useful for extended dungeon trips.

How to Receive

  1. You must be at Act 3 or later.
  2. From the world map menu, select Communications – Communication Settings – Receive Data.
  3. When asked “Do you want to download data from Internet?” select “Yes”.
  4. A “Gaudy Man” will appear at Zofia Castle (Alm) or Zofia Port (Celica).
  5. Speak to the Gaudy Man once a day to receive an exclusive item.

Note: The Gaudy Man will disappear afterwards and you may have to start from Step 2 again during each new day.

Available Items

  1. Seven Sword (first encounter only)
  2. Seven Shield (second encounter only)
  3. Chicken Salad (randomly selected)
  4. Mushroom Bread (randomly selected)
  5. Spicy Chicken (randomly selected)
  6. Mille Crepe (randomly selected)
  7. Grilled Chicken (randomly selected)
  8. Pure Honey (randomly selected)

To collect all 8 items, you therefore need to find the Gaudy Man at least 8 times. However, the provisions are randomly chosen and you can get duplicates, so it might take more tries than that. (You can try saving before speaking and soft-resetting if you get a duplicate.)

At the time of writing, it’s unclear if these items or a similar collaboration will be present in the Western release. Of course, we’ll let you know if we discover anything!

Watch it be cut from the eng version or be made as some rare drop.

    • Of course it’ll be cut from the eng version. Japan 7-Elevens are a lot more….important? (not exactly the best word but their small snack/convenience stores are a lot better and offer more over there) that they actually do stuff like this. Hell in past when stuff like Dominos does colabs with Code Geass and Attack on Titan, we don’t get any of that kind of stuff over here because just in general their restaurants/stores/small businesses offer more than the ones in NA.

Also anime isn’t as “big” in the US.

Yup just like how the 711 metal drags were cut from NA puzzle and dragons

I guess it could be free DLC.

Can confirm that it is likely cut. The US version doesn’t have the “Receive Data” option under Communication Settings (called Connect Settings here).

Okay then. Maybe as I said sometime somewhere that it could be DLC, which seems like a good idea to me.

I saw this promotion coming a mile away because of the weapons/equipment pages, but it puzzled me because I’ve seen more Family Marts (7/11 “equivalent” for those that don’t know) when I went there last summer.
