Heroes: Tempest Trials: Breath of Destiny Now Live!

The latest Tempest Trials is now available in Fire Emblem Heroes! Bring your strongest allies and prepare to tackle Tempest Trials: Breath of Destiny.

The Tempest strikes while our heroes are still geared up for the Day of Devotion festival. Eliwood, Lilina, and Roy are separated from their friends, but looking forward to fighting together.

The Tempest Trials has a new home under the Events tab in the Battle screen. Once inside, you can check out the opening page to see your points and the available bonus allies. When you’re ready, select a stage and dive in. The final map features Love Abounds Lilina as a boss on a brand new map.

As usual, the Tempest Trials come bringing a number of gifts. All players can earn an extra 13 Orbs over the next ten days with a new Log-In Bonus. Daily Quests are also back, rewarding people for playing the Trials every day. The biggest rewards, however, are earned within the event itself. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Units: 4★ Love Abounds Eliwood at 2,000 and 5★ Love Abounds Eliwood at 30,000.
  • Sacred Seals: Threaten Atk at 12,000, Fortress Res at 20,000, Armored Boots at 40,000.
  • Earth Blessing at 25,000

The Armored Boots seal is a completely new skill, giving any hero the ability to move an extra square if they’re at full heath. Other rewards include lots of Orbs, as well as Hero Feathers, Sacred Coins, Shards and Crystals.

Tempest Trials: Breath of Destiny will be around for the next two weeks, ending on 28 February.

Some of the opening dialogue for the Tempest Trials comes directly from Binding Blade. I love when they do stuff like that.

Also, surely Armored Boots isn’t compatible with EVERY hero; instead just armored ones, right? I’m not ready for four-move horses.

    • Shenai

If it stacks with Armor March I’m not ready for three-move armors either… I find Armor March overpowered already, with the inflated armor stats taking away their one disadvantage is just ridiculous. If one of them can now move three spaces… just no

      • Sisyphe

You make a good point. I am also not ready for that. I don’t necessarily find Armor March overpowered, but I think the defense tiles and the recent armor power creep have definitely not helped things

        • Shenai

Considering we now have armors with insane speeds but still the same high defence and res stats I find Armor March a bit much. It’s extra stats without any drawbacks? Despite having some good armors and Armor March available I still don’t find them particularly fun to play.

I mean, I pulled LA!Lyn inside 5 orbs (lucky for once though I wasn’t even trying for her) and got +Spd -Res. Which is really good. But my point is 39 speed unbuffed on an armor? wtf (armor mages to begin with… )
And it’s not like the rest of her stats are bad, only HP is a bit low for armor.
But nevermind that… the beast that is WE!Tharja…

          oh well

That being said, I did get another Raven and did what I said I would. It’s fun but insane. I went overboard and put Galeforce on him for the hell of it. Technically he would probably be best with Draconic Aura (I gave him the Heavy Blade 3 seal, figured with 60 Atk unbuffed I could use that).
So he’s now got Basilikos + LnD 3, Reposition, Galeforce (or Luna or Glimmer, depending on what I feel like), Fury 3, Desperation 3, Threaten Def 3 and the Heavy Blade 3 Seal. 42/60/48/25/22
Because I’m crazy, I currently have him in a team with a dancer with Hone Atk 3, Fjorm with Drive Atk 2 and gave him an Earth blessing and L!Ike makes a great buddy for him. That’s 69 attack…
          Kills basically anything.

I agree with you actually. I didn’t find Armor March overpowered when it came out with Amelia, but as you said (and I said) the power creep of the higher BST armors, with mages, and speed, and even more ridiculously balanced defenses has made it a little much. I’ve seen Winter Tharja for example that, once on defense tiles in the arena, even my blue mages like Reinhardt and Delthea can’t duel.

I also commented elsewhere that I think they’re using armor as the new whale bait since all the crazy armor skills are so hard to get. But even then, I also don’t find it particularly fun to play them.

How are your matchups? I’m sure he obliterates stuff like Nowi and Effie, but is he getting wins over neutral tanks like B!Ike? Can he handle reds at all? I kind of feel like the disadvantage means he’s won’t get those kills or survive the counterattack, but desperation could change that. Obviously units like him become more valuable the more wins they get outside of their color advantage

          • Shenai

I tried to reply twice in detail but Disqus has decided to mark it as spam no matter what I do… let’s hope this works.
So here’s the shorter version… he does extremely well against almost anything. With the buffs and team I described above (their default buffing skills) and added ally support S rank and threaten defense working, there is only Laslow who survives him engaging at full health, if I switch to Draconic Aura and Vantage.
With my current skillset that number goes up to 5 who beat him, notably including only winter Chrom and valentine’s Hector, no one else worth mentioning.

Unbuffed and with my current skillset and without threaten defense taking effect he loses to 20 charas, notably among those the ones already mentioned plus Zelgius, winter Tharja, Black Knight, Sigurd, Hector, Effie and Myrrh.

Even in enemy phase at full health he will only be KOed by 21 charas, this is without any buffs or threaten. He will actually win a few of his matchups he loses in player phase this way, all the ones mentioned except winter Tharja. Of course these are all just with their base skillsets and unmerged 5 star. With the buffs etc. in enemy phase he does just as well as player phase losing to only 5, Elincia and Sanaki worth mentioning.

All in all he’s an insane beast really, at 4 stars plus 10.
This is all without desperation, his matchups looks a little bit worse if he’s in range. Draconic Aura and Vantage may be better, but for repeated use Draconic Aura and Desperation should be best. If his special is charged nothing survives being initiated on. Go Raven. I shall have fun with Galeforce though and the monster I created.

Armored Boots Sacred Seal is exclusive to Armored units, and cannot stack with Armor March.

  • mrkisukes

I do like the idea of the Armored Boots, promoting mixed teams, though we’ll have to wait until people get it and test it out to see it’s viability. I usually like to run mix teams in the arena since the same emblem teams every week gets boring.

Zelgius with no Alondite is a nice touch IntSys, the mixups are real. But in all seriousness, the high number of armor slaying weapons is annoying for this tempest trial with 4 of the 8 bonus units being armored.

    • Diovani Estivalet

I like to use mixed teams too. With mixed teams, we can use tactics skills. Also, Zelgius with no weapon is funny.
Now, about the armor slaying weapons in this TT… every time I found Micaiah, I have difficulties to win, especially if she is in the final map.

      • mrkisukes

Micaiah is a huge pain, I usually have to get lucky with enemy placements and use my +res LA!Hector, after P!Azura dance buffs, to bait her. Despite triangle advantage, he still takes a crap ton of damage which is why if another enemy can attack, especially if it’s another mage, he’s screwed, and since he’s also -def, hard hitting greens and reds too.

        • Diovani Estivalet

My LA! Hector is + Res, but I used to different tactic. I am not using a dancer in this TT. My team is: LA! Hector, LA! Lyn, Bride Lyn and Marth. With Bride Lyn’s Drive Res, Marth’s refined Falchion and LA! Lyn’s ally support, I can give my Hector +7 Res during combat, and also from ally support and a combination of Marth’s Falchion and Marth’s Drive Spd, Hector also get +7 Spd, making Hector not get doubled too often.

I made a summoning session today.
    Good side: I got LA!Lilina!
Bad side: She is Atk bane.
