Heroes: Grand Conquests Now Available!

The latest event in Fire Emblem Heroes has just begun! Prepare your strongest Brigade and prepare to enter Grand Conquests.

Grand Conquests is the newest event type in Heroes. Feh revealed it for the first time during the recent Feh Channel. All participating players are split into three teams to vie for territory. Battle for disputed territory in large, Rival Domain style maps to lead your team to victory!

We’ll be writing up more detailed information about Grand Conquests at a later date. For now, just dive in and explore it for yourself. The Notifications Screen in-game also contains some further details.

Additionally, a new series of Quests related to Grand Conquests is also available! You can earn an Orb, Universal Crystals, and Hero Feathers for scoring points for your team. Presumably, these quests function like other events and will refresh after a certain period.

Furthermore, as a celebration for the event’s inauguration, Heroes is giving 20 Orbs to all players! Make sure to visit Feh to pick up your Orbs before the event’s conclusion.

This initial Grand Conquest event will end on 18 April.

GC seems more like Romance of the Three Kingdoms than Fire Emblem, though that’s not a bad thing since it’s a pretty fun mode. I’m not certain on the most efficient way to spend stamina though, so hopefully someone comes along to clear it up.

So far, I’ve been focussing efforts on contested areas where my team seems to have a good chance of taking/holding the space without being so one-sided to the point where it’s redundant (we’re gonna win this one anyway) or pointless (We’re being hopelessly overwhelmed, or the deficit is so great that the necessary investment isn’t worth it.).

Basically, take Ephraim’s advice, don’t fight battles you know you can’t win. As for the multiplier, I don’t think there’s any efficiency involved in it, it just speeds up contributing to a space. Best done when you’re convinced you can score well in the area where you wanna help out, or maybe if you wanna try for a last-minute turnaround in a round, hopefully leaving the opposing side no time to counteract your contribution.

First: I am surprised how good I went in the Berkut’s GHB quests. I managed to complete all 5 quest and win Infernal Mode, thanks to my units and my knowledge in the game, which is getting better with more I play.
Now, about this new mode “Grand Conquest”… this is not that fun! I am only playing it for the orbs. I have more fun with the Tap Battle!

Wait, I didn’t get to choose which team should I join! I’m already at Alfonse’s team, randomly, which is not what I wanted! Why didn’t this game let me choose?!

If people could choose, then Sharena would have the most people, followed by some with Anna, and then few with Alfonse. They are likely evenly distributing us to make it fair. It makes sense, it’s not like the team leader even matters here.

Surprisingly, I’m rather enjoying this, even though I’m usually not fond of Rival Domains (and terrible at it XD).
But I just took a look at the rounds and 22 I feel is going to end up much, much too long.

Are there many different concurrent Outrealm battlefields? The number of “troops” seems much too low for the whole playerbase to be in this together. The number next to the Outrealm seems to suggest that too (103).
On my field currently Alfonse’s army is doing really well, 18 areas controlled.

    • Yes, I believe this was specified in either the update or the video. I’m in 468 for example, with Sharena having 17 areas.

      • Sisyphe

Yeah, my Sharena is on the verge of elimination, and with her, me). It’s pretty fun, even if I can’t for the life of me figure out any consistent strategy. I can sometimes claim the camps, but I haven’t touched the fortress once yet

        • It is pretty fun. I’m not sure about strategies with this, but I’m able to take the fortresses relatively consistently on infernal. It usually boils down to, like everything else in this game for me, slowly pushing up Sheema while I let L’Arachel and Tana, and in this case also Ninian, take care of any reds that might hurt her. It’s almost too simple, but as long as it works I don’t care lol.

        • Shenai

I found that the HQs can’t be attacked so it swings around one way and a few hours later another, no team gets taken out of the game completely.
Same for me btw, I think since we started I’ve attacked a fortress once, but never claimed one. Punishment for prefering player phase units and builds I guess XD

    • Laggalot101

My Outrealm is 1156. It’s clear that there’s many of these different “rooms”, and there’s really only a small number of players in each of them. Dunno how many, exactly, though. While it makes the battles smaller scale, it does also make each player’s contributions feel more significant, which – in contrast – is absolutely not the case with the Voting Gauntlet, where the individual’s efforts feel almost meaningless to the overall goal. Currently, in my battle, I’m on team Anna, and our team was getting destroyed for a while, but now it’s Alfonse that’s getting demolished and Sharena is rocking with a whopping 16 spaces.

      • Shenai

Yeah, I like the small groups, although it’s also very noticeable when people are asleep XD I wonder how they sort users into these groups?
I’m on team Alfonse, like I said we were doing really well, but now we’re doing really poorly. I think it’ll probably swing around a few times and whoever’s currently doing well at the end will get more rewards *shrugs* oh well, it’s fun.
And the tier awards aren’t too bad, not great but I’ll take free orbs any day.
