Heroes: Out of Gallia Preview Trailer!

Four new Laguz heroes are coming soon to Fire Emblem Heroes! Check out the Out of Gallia Preview Trailer below for your first look at Ranulf, Lethe, Mordecai, and Caineghis.

These four heroes are expanding the number and type of Beast allies available in the game. The cat laguz Ranulf and Lethe count as Cavalry units, while tiger Mordecai is Infantry and lion Caineghis is Armored. Furthermore, each unit comes with some impressive weapons and skills. Check out full skill details below.

These new heroes will be arriving with a new story chapter as well! Follow along with the Order of Heroes as they head into the Realm of the Dead.

Both the Out of Gallia banner and its accompanying paralogue will be available in just a couple days, starting on Wednesday, 10 April. This banner (and its accompanying Log-In Bonus and Orb Promo) are the last things listed on the current Event Calendar, so we don’t quite know how long it’ll last.

However, the in-game notification confirms that Haar: Black Tempest will be arriving as the next Grand Hero Battle! His battles will start up the day after the new banner is live, Thursday 11 April.

Furthermore, today’s update formally revealed that Forging Bonds: A Trust Earned, starring our new characters, will also be starting on 10 April! Check the in-game notifications for further details.

Ranulf: Friend of Nations:
  • Covert Cat Fang (Green Beast, Mt 14): Grants Def+3. If unit is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Atk/Def+3 to unit and allies within 2 spaces of unit during combat. At start of turn, if unit is adjacent to only beast or dragon allies or if unit is not adjacent to any ally, unit transforms (otherwise, unit reverts). If unit transforms, grants Atk+2, and if unit initiates combat, inflicts Atk/Def-4 on foe during combat and foe cannot make a follow-up attack.
  • Rally Atk/Def+ (assist): Grants Atk/Def+6 to target ally for 1 turn.
  • Chill Atk 3 (B slot): At start of turn, inflicts Atk-7 on foe on the enemy team with the highest Atk through its next action.
  • Ward Beasts (C slot): Grants Def/Res+4 to beast allies within 2 spaces during combat.
Lethe: Gallia’s Valkyrie:
  • Brazen Cat Fang (Red Beast, Mt 14): Grants Spd+3. If unit is not adjacent to an ally, grants Atk/Spd+6 during combat.
  • Moonbow (Special): Treats foe’s Def/Res as if reduced by 30% during combat.
  • Spd/Def Solo 3 (A slot): If unit is not adjacent to an ally, grants ASpd/Def+6 during combat.
  • Hone Beasts (C slot): At start of turn, grants Atk/Spd+6 to adjacent beast allies for 1 turn.
Mordecai: Kindhearted Tiger:
  • Sabertooth Fang (Blue Beast, Mt 14): Grants Def+3. If a movement Assist skill (like Reposition, Shove, Pivot, etc.) is used by unit or targets unit, inflicts Atk/Spd/Def/Res-4 on foes within 2 spaces of unit and target through their next actions after movement. At start of turn, if unit is adjacent to only beast or dragon allies or if unit is not adjacent to any ally, unit transforms (otherwise, unit reverts). If unit transforms, grants Atk+2 and deals +10 damage when Special trigger.
  • Smite (Assist): Pushes target ally 2 spaces away.
  • Atk/Def Link 3 (B slot): If a movement Assist skill (like Reposition, Shove, Pivot, etc.) is used by unit or targets unit, grants Atk/Def+6 to unit and target ally or unit and targeting ally for 1 turn.
  • Beast Exp. 3 (C slot): While unit lives, all beast allies on team get 2x EXP. (Only highest value applied. Does not stack.)
Caineghis: Gallia’s Lion King:
  • Lion King Fang (Colorless Beast, Mt 14): Grants Atk+3. If foe initiates combat, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4 during combat. At start of turn, if unit is adjacent to only beast or dragon allies or if unit is not adjacent to any ally, unit transforms (otherwise, unit reverts). If unit transforms, grants Atk+2, and unit can counterattack regardless of foe’s range.
  • Distant Def 4 (A slot): If foe initiates combat and uses bow, dagger, magic, or staff, grants Def/Res+8 during combat.
  • Bonfire (Special): Boosts damage by 50% of unit’s Def. Distant Def 4 (A slot): If foe initiates combat and uses bow, dagger, magic, or staff, grants Def/Res+8 during combat.
  • Vengeful Fighter 3 (B slot): If unit’s HP ≥ 50% and foe initiates combat, grants Special cooldown charge +1 per unit’s attack, and unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack. (Does not stack.)
  • Distant Guard 3 (C slot): Allies within 2 spaces gain: “If foe uses bow, dagger, magic, or staff, grants Def/Res+4 during combat.”

  • Thunderfang

The Gallia banner was released, and Alicia isn’t in it? 0/10, won’t summon.

    • Mason Klaus

Who? I don’t remember any Alicia in either PoR or RD.

      • Even more confusing due to the other female character from Gallia being Lyre. If I had to wager a guess, he’s probably referring to Ilyana, because while her hometown is not explicitly stated, Gallia is where she’s recruited. Her Japanese name is also イレース (Ireesu), which can look something like Alicia if you butcher it enough.

        • Mason Klaus

Not gonna lie, Ilyana would be great cause I like her as a unit in both PoR and RD mainly cause she actually gains strength to wield those heavy tomes with ease since strength is pretty much the con of those two games, something Soren really lacks in. Her JP name doesn’t look anywhere close to Alicia to be honest but it would not surprise me if it got translated to Alicia for whatever reason.

        • Thunderfang

No, Lakmé was right. It was a reference to Valkyria Chronicles.

          • Unrelated jokes seem to go over my head.

      • Lakmé

I think they’re talking about Valkyria Chronicles (there’s also a country called Gallia)…

        • Mason Klaus

XD Can’t believe I missed that.

        • Thunderfang

That’s exactly right. I was referencing Valkyria Chronicles. To make matters worse…

  • PhychoMeows

I…I spent all my orbs for Yune…. T.T

  • Diovani Estivalet

You forgot to add Distant Def 4 for Caineghis.

  • Mason Klaus

Well this is an unexpected but very welcome banner. About time they started focusing on other games rather than just Fates and Awakening. And Ranulf who is my favorite of the Beast Tribe characters finally in the game and I’m glad for that. Hopefully they’ve done him and the others justice, especially Caineghis cause he’s their king so he deffinitely should be extremely powerful.

And from their PoR selves that I can remember is that Lethe was super fast but wasn’t exactly tanky or strong, Mordecai was powerful, very tanky on the physical side and extremely slow and Ranulf is like Lethe but way stronger and slightly more tanky but still not so as Mordecai.

I think I’m gonna go after all four, though Ranulf is the one I want most.

  • 3-13 Archer

IS added a polemic pool updapte that guarantees decent pity breakers in new banners but doesn’t fix most of the problems it has. Now they release a banner with some of the most memorable characters of Tellius. Interesting maneuver.
If Haar is trash I quit the game. You can’t do things like that to God.

    • 100%B-Type

you mean… the same with Seth?
but Fliers are really good in game!

      • 3-13 Archer

Oh dear, even now I have to struggle to deal with it. I hope he gets the Naesala treatment. We should create our own archetypes for Heroes, like if a unit that should be great but it’s really bad, it’s a Seth/Titania. Or an Eldigan when a unit is on a banner just to prevent you from getting a better character.

  • Brave Lady Lyn

Lethe and Haar pretty much brought my interest in heroes back they better not suck!!!

  • Sisyphe

Going to end up whaling for Caineghis and Ranulf at this rate… don’t think my current orbs will be enough. I hope, at least, that the banner sticks around as long as Idunn’s. Also psyched about the free Haar, though that probably means he won’t be too good

    • I’m lowkey hoping it’s just gonna be PoR Haar to justify him not being OP.

      • Sisyphe

I’m not really sure what a good defensive flier even looks like in this game without some skill that currently doesn’t exist. I think there’s no way Haar could be good because of that (which is why I have no hope for a potential Travant and why my Minerva warms my bench), even if he weren’t a GHB reward.

        • Shenai

Sumia and summer Innes both work extremely well as defensive fliers for me.
Myrrh and young summer Tiki as well I suppose. Also girl Grima to a certain extent.

          • Sisyphe

Yeah, I get a lot out of girl Grima, but I feel like she kind of proves my point. She has good def and res, plus Dragonskin to remove her bow weakness and adaptive damage to compensate for the lower attack she has from having decent mixed bulk. Myrrh is kind of similar, in that her skills compensate for holes in her stat spread.

How does Innes do? Doesn’t he have really low res? And wouldn’t archers still one-round him? I guess it’d have to be a Brave Bow, since he is pretty fast and archers aren’t. Haar is kind of more in the Michalis archetype (and he turned out to be a worse Cherche, who already had Gerome…), though in Radiant Dawn, he’s kind of good at everything

          • Shenai

I see your point, though with those mixed defenses Myrrh would be pretty tanky even without Great Flame. Although of course that helps her out a lot.

The recent legendary banner had me accidentally +2 him, but even before that he’s been on my flier team longterm now. He does brilliantly. Archers are a problem for every flier who’s not girl Grima, but his high defense and speed mean he got the Iote’s Shield seal from me, dedicated archer baiting flier on the team. Technically he prefers player phase because of Beach Banner’s bonus, but in practice he does enemy phase just fine, especially since I usually fully buff my fliers and have ally support. His base res is 23 now, which isn’t good but not completely debilitating either, especially paired with the 48HP. At 44 base speed there’s not a lot that can double him.
In an ideal situation in enemy phase fully buffed and with ally support a dragon would be going against 31 res. At the mentioned 48HP that’s more than enough to take a single hit. In player phase it could be 33 if you’re initiating on a dragon or mage with CC.
With 37 base def and his speed and HP he can pretty much take a single hit from a fair number of archers too, especially when buffed/with support, but with the seal he barely takes any damage. So on a flier team he was the best candidate to deal with archers when necessary in EP.

Sumia is deceptively tanky and meant for enemy phase with her Reprisal Lance and close defense.
With summer Tana and Airzura rouding it out I’ve been running a half enemy phase flier team for many months now.

          • Sisyphe

Yeah, obviously Iote’s Shield alleviates the flier weakness altogether. My Raven Spring Camilla still has that, but I guess I can rotate out as necessary. There is obviously some opportunity cost there though. My issue is, in the Infernal GHB for Haar, I one rounded him with an unbuffed Kinshinoka with 49 atk. I can definitely see how Innes can be tanky, but he’s really fast, and doesn’t have DC, which is obviously a good thing for tanks, especially since my primary concern is those Infernal legendary hero battles and the like with one million reinforcements. I’m not sure what you’re using Innes for though. My flier team, and the only one that allows me to handle those difficulty modes, is Elincia, Kinshinoka, Airzura, and Eir. So very different style. I’m not sure it’s even possible to tank those modes honestly.

Thinking about it, I think the speed is the biggest difference. Without it, most archers and mages will punch through tanky Wyverns (even Laegjarn isn’t too sturdy). Gerome and Cherche have made me uncomfortable for that reason. I don’t really know what to do with Haar, since he’s in their archetype.

          • Shenai

I actually cleared all of Haar’s battles with the fliers mentioned above on first try, except I had L!Azura along instead of regular Airzura, who has maxed her HM. Slightly less effective on the whole, but Summer Tana obviously had a very easy time with Haar. I think this was one of the easiest GHBs.

Innes is indeed really fast. Ah yes, DC. I guess I could try building a flier team around L!Ryoma. Maybe with Yune, for laughs. But I like my current fliers, they work well. I use Innes for anything that comes up using fliers, mixed phase all the way.

I haven’t bothered with all of those legendary hero battles on Infernal, sometimes just couldn’t be bothered after a few tries. I know, I give up too easy. But it just wasn’t any fun.
Generally though I would rather bring a debuff team to those battles. So I’d bring Hrid, bunny Catria, brave Veronica and Gunnthra. Or the original wind team if it’s wind season.
Eir is great, but I’ve not yet been able to use Kinshinoka well.

Yes, the speed makes all the difference. He’s one of my fastest units overall. But even my slowest flier on that team has 38 spd unbuffed. Speed, the great defensive stat.
Laegjarn’s pretty fast too, but her res is bad.
Cherche is a hit and run player phase only unit. I probably won’t be using Haar. Unlike you I’m not attached to the Tellius games so it’s not really anything to me. I didn’t pull for any of the recent Tellius units (except Yune). You probably did. Any luck?

          • Sisyphe

They’ve been mercifully making the GHBs on the easier end, compared to the LHBs. I recently pulled my L!Azura, and I shockingly haven’t gotten a lot of use out of her so far, but I also mean I just pulled her in the last banner.

If the fliers work for you, then by all means stick with them. I’m just disappointed I don’t really see any niche for Haar, and I’m a little surprised they did this to him, since he’s a huge fan favorite and maybe the “best” unit in Radiant Dawn. He was also on my short list of heroes I’d been hoping for a shot at. I kind of took for granted that they might make him unique after making Naesala awesome (which I’m eternally grateful for).

I’m sure you could beat them if you put a bit more time into them, but they are definitely not fun. I’ve had to let the last couple sit for a few days because I was banging my head against a wall. I may have mentioned that my Kinshinoka runs a Brave Bow. She’s also +atk and has a merge. Almost certainly the MVP of my entire barracks. I love Eir. Mine has the atk/spd bond seal, so she can grab a ludicrous +13 atk/spd not counting flier buffs, and Sparkling Boost really helps with Duma

I’ve been very lucky. I have all of them. Although, it took about 700 orbs and some absurdly good luck on free summon ticket pulls (I have 26 orbs to my name now, but didn’t have to whale) and Tibarn, Nailah, Lethe, and Ranulf are -spd. Yune is the only one I don’t have, but I also didn’t try for her. Reyson came recently as a very lucky 4* free pull. And, not a Tellius unit, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Idunn. She’s -atk, unfortunately, but she was also on my short list of wanted units and never expected to see her, much less in between two Tellius banners. Regardless I’m very happy to have her.

          • Shenai

I haven’t been using her that much yet either. For fliers Airzura with her native Hone fliers is just more convenient.

Naesala, Panne and a random Kaden are all the beasts I have.
I did try a little bit for the bird Laguz because I always thought they were really cool but had bad luck and gave up early. Same with Idunn, I did try a few times, and I came away with some 5*s, just none of the focus units.

Mine’s +atk too, -res and has her original bow. I’ve used her on occassion in AA or Squad Assault, since her prf bow can be useful. But I’ve not found a team for her. Had her a long time, she was a lucky pull on her first banner.
Not sure who my MVP is these days, Raven’s not quite as good as he used to be though still very good. I guess Inigo is as useful as ever, and Fjorm’s +4 now and still really useful. I’ve also had fun using Hrid a lot and L!Roy has probably permanently replaced L!Ike on my arena team. Always useful to have an anti dragon unit around.
Eir’s permanently on the AR team. Mine’s +spd and +1.

No luck getting a 4* Reyson here. My Yune’s +res -spd and I gave her Desperation. Using her that way kind of feels like trolling, but it’s fun.
Sounds like good luck on your side for sure.

          • Sisyphe

I agree. I guess with atk tactics/prayer wheel, she’s supposed to be run with mixed teams, but I’m not great at assembling those.

Pretty much all the beasts are at least decent, though they kind of have to be run in specialized teams. I guess you could argue my birds are my flying team right now, but they’re too squishy to survive PvE encounters at the highest levels. Almost seems like they were made for Aether Raids (I take back everything I said about Aether Raids. They’re awful). I actually run fliers in AR too. Only team I can do okay with. I’ve found all my Raven tome users have been powercrept. They don’t really survive Reinhardts any more, though your Inigo is obviously merged.

Yeah, like I said, very lucky. Although, I think Tibarn, Nailah, Idunn, Lethe, and Ranulf came on free summon tickets. And while I’ve had incredible luck on this banner (seven 5* in 150 orbs, including the four focus), I actually didn’t pull anything else really trying for the birds and Idunn, so that was very stressful

          • Shenai

I’ve used her in the training tower. It’s usually easy to throw together a mixed team for that, especially when bringing valor skills.

Yeah, I’ve just not had much luck getting any.
AR is indeed awful. I’ve made it to Tier 20 now, don’t think I’ll ever get to 21. I’m running a weird team of Inigo(+4), Hrid(+1), Eir (+1), Fjorm(+4) and NY Laevatein (standard razzle dazzle + savage blow) with switching things out depending on the bonus. Half the time it works ok, then it doesn’t. I’ve tried running a largely armor dragon team on anima season but I find I’m either no good at using them or and this I believe is a big factor, EP oriented teams are shit for AR offense. Basically I didn’t put that much thought into it and will continue on that path.
Yeah, Inigo still usually survives, but he’s cutting it close these days.

I’ve spent a few orbs on the legendary banners, but not much. Got spring Xander as a free summon. On Idunn’s banner I got spooked by Leif, horsie Chrom and Celica. And on the new bunny banner by brave Celica and Lewyn, ironically while the legendary banner with both of them was still active, and another horsie Chrom. I did want some of the bunnies, I just think they’re fun? Did get Bruno, and also Veronica, but originally I was trying for Palla mostly.

          • Sisyphe

Yeah, but I mean, I can solo the training tower with some units by this point, unless you mean for leveling units, in which case yeah, especially since most of my dancers and healers have their HM maxed. I could probably use a new healer…

I just made tier 20 this past week, and it will be all I can do not to slide back down. I’m running Spring Corrin, Eir, Kinshinoka, Airzura, and Aversa, regardless of season. I think Aversa’s pretty essential because of her tome’s debuff. I’ve had the same issues though. I definitely think you’re right about enemy phase teams in AR. And also armor. I have Duma, but I can’t seem to make him work. Though Idunn would be the only other dragon I’d have.

I pulled another Spring Alfonse as a free pull. I enjoy the art, but I’m like “what am I going to do with you?” I don’t use cavalry at all anymore. I know I got my streak broken by Brave Celica when going for Idunn. I don’t exactly remember what if anything got me during the first Tellius banner. I think I pulled the red tome Camilla there, which was a huge bummer, and maybe also Leif as well. They don’t have any good skills, but I turned them into combat manuals out of spite.

Two for four isn’t bad, and at least Lewyn is pretty potent. I also really liked Palla, and honestly the art of everyone in that banner (we won’t speak of Loki), but I knew I wouldn’t use them if I pulled them. My barracks is bloated as it is.

          • Shenai

I meant for leveling, and yes, rotating out healers and dancers for that because of HM. Plus, with a mixed team, Atk Tactics + Prayer Wheel is very convenient for buffing units that you’re training.

Same as me, though I wouldn’t worry too much about sliding back down. You only have to balance out defense losses after all, for that. I’ve never even trained Aversa. And this season I’m running Yune instead of Eir. The top down structure of the AR maps is good for her.

Yeah, my defense map is currently full of armor dragons, which I feel a little bad about, but at least I’m not pulling any bs like isolating dragons in corners behind tons of buildings/decorations. That just feels scammy…
Duma, Halloween Myrrh, winter Fae and legendary Tiki on defense at this moment. With Axura and legendary Lucina because Future Vision is hard to predict.

Well you know mine is pulling duty on the fire horse defense oriented team, but it’s very niche. There’s not much call for him otherwise. I mainly use those horses now if I use cavalry or the mentioned debuff team of Hrid + Gunnthra with Catria and Veronica, they make short work of most things.

That Lewyn will probably end up as +1 for my -atk one or as skill fodder, I haven’t decided yet. It was my first brave Celica so that was nice, even at -atk.
Palla is very cute, Loki wasn’t on the banner so we shall not mention her. While we’re not mentioning her, somehow the costume was magically terrible but not worse than the original while the anatomy got worse…
Bruno matches Alfonse, which I thought was funny, they can be spring festival bunny friends now, reunited at last. His damaged art is beyond ridiculous though.

          • Sisyphe

I don’t really understand how the defense scoring works. The most you can lose is one full battle’s worth of points, but your team will usually see enough fights that you’ll lose one eventually. So I don’t really know how to even slow the loss of points, which makes me wonder why it’s even worth investing in defense. That said, I’m a huge troll. I have Brave Lyn, Reinhardt, and Veronica in a narrow corridor and Summer Micaiah and Legendary Lucina next to them. Plus, Aversa is a walled off corner applying mass panic. I’ve seen Lucina fly across the map to get some kills I feel bad about…

I think there are still a lot of good horses, but I don’t find the extra move compensates for the terrain vulnerabilities and lower BST in this meta. I never got Hrid though.

I don’t like Lewyn really so I’d guide him off in a heartbeat. I’d probably give Odd Atk Wave to Nino, so that she self buffs every turn (I pulled and merged an Ishtar like one day before that refine went live. I’m still a bit bitter). But there’s obviously so much you can do with his skills, like Special Spiral Ophelia.

Palla is very cute, and Marisa is very cute (as an aside, this Tellius banner has three men. That’s wild). I hadn’t seen Bruno’s damaged art. That’s hilarious. I don’t know about Loki’s anatomy being worse, but I don’t what’s going on with that…would we call it a leotard? It’s a shame too because I like the art style

          • Shenai

The reset is at a different hour than FEH in general, but you lose points (or not) for the first defense battle that “day” (20h). And in anima season for example having Duma + an anima blessed unit or more on the defense team will reduce the losses, and also legendaries in the right season if they are in addition to mythic in the right season. The other day I lost 5 lift because of Duma, Myrrh and Fae having anima blessings, legendary Lucina and having defeated 3 enemies. Max loss as I can see right now is -80. Each enemy you defeat reduces that by 20. Duma unmerged + 2 blessed allies + L!Lucina = another 15 reduction. If you succeed for whatever reason you don’t lose any lift.
Does that help? I saw the actual formulas somewhere. It changes if you have merges on the mythic heroes and if you have more than one from the correct season(s) deployed.

In offense, always bring a bonus unit -> immediate +20 score. So simply offsetting defense losses isn’t too hard when you use a bonus unit always in offense. Even if you can’t prevent defense losses, you get to fight more offense than defense, so at a max 80 loss per 20h you can mitigate that and not slip down a tier again.

Leveling up your fortress (D) also helps massively with not losing defense too often/without any kills.

I feel like I may have encountered your team but those aren’t the units that usually give me trouble. Inigo and Fjorm deal with the majority of that easily without anyone else even involved. I mean Inigo has been meant to counter both Lyn and Reinhardt from the beginning and it’s not like Veronica does much damage to him either. The dancer and Lucina are more of an issue. (and the fact that bowbreaker only works for colorless bows)

Horses are massively dependent on what maps you use them on, but that debuffing team made the last TT+ so very trivial. Hrid is awesome. I had +def, then more by chance than design got +atk on the latest banner he was on and merged to that. Just lovely. (and now soot free)

I will use a Loki to do just that, yuck Loki. Special Spiral is much more valuable, but I don’t have Ophelia.

That is indeed wild, completely unheard of.

          • Sisyphe

Yeah, that does help (thanks!). I’ve been pretty stingy with my blessings. I probably should use bonus heroes more, but I find it just leaves me with a team that is less optimized. So I’m not sure how much I actually save that way.

My fortress (D) is level 4, which definitely helps, though that’s only because I accidentally leveled instead of my offense one…

There are a lot of teams like mine, yeah. You don’t see a lot of dedicated green counters anymore, so I think a lot of people struggle. Plus, Aversa’s debuff is always active.

Yeah, the problem is you don’t really have a say in the map, where fliers don’t care (they trivialize Duma Infernal, for instance, because the game apparently didn’t expect you to fly over the swamp.

I forgot Loki had it too. I’m envious. I really want that Nino build

          • Shenai

            You’re welcome.
The bonus heroes get an atk/def bonus to their stats and that extra 20 points is just a lot. So in light season if I bring Eir+1 and a light blessed hero and a bonus hero -> 121 lift per perfect win. Granted it’s not always easy to find a bonus hero to fit with the rest but it’s usually worth it imo.

            Mine’s 3 I think, my offense is 4.

Dedicated green counters? Do you mean counter units which happen to be green or units which counter other green units?
Aversa is just annoying for sure.

Well, if we’re not just talking arena or AR then you usually know what map you’re going into.
But I’ve also used fliers of course on maps that make it difficult for others. Or sometimes on wood maps, armors with armor march because they treat woods as a normal field. (which is how I somehow still lure some units into a trap on my AR defense map… ) (Yune trivializes dealing with Duma in AR once in desperation range… got her set up with DB, Desperation and Brazen Atk/Res seal, she hits so hard once she get into desperation range, and Glacies then hits for 40 additional damage)

Despite Nino still killing basically anything I haven’t been using her as much lately. Should just +10 her already, lord knows I have the feathers. You reached your 880k yet?
Speaking of feathers… the new voting gauntlet changes have made it much more bothersome for me to get good amounts of feathers from a gauntlet…

          • Sisyphe

I think I’m at like 9500, but I also haven’t really touched the mode. I don’t enjoy it, and honestly, it’s not like I’m going to he using the grails or the flowers really.

Yeah, I meant the Gronnraven users and such. I don’t see them much really. I’m primarily concerned with the more difficult PvE content. Anything that gets me orbs really. My problem is I find it hard to invest in a cavalry team that might be unusuable on some maps.

I don’t use Nino too much either, but I’m still a fan. I did get my feathers and nearly maxed a Nowi. But I’m not sure now who I want to merge, so I’m just sitting on them mostly.

The general idea of the Gauntlet is to sit on your hours until a big bonus and unload your hours and feathers all at once. Easier said than none, but better that it’s not time locked, I think

          • Shenai

I enjoy it more than AA and a couple other modes, doing 1-2 battles a day is alright. But it’s not great.
Grails… it’s a hard choice, but I have been considering Arvis, mostly since I actually use him.
I don’t know if I’d ever make up my mind and pick a unit to invest in with the flowers.
No grails for Naesala for you? Or Lyon?

Inigo’s just convenient with his triple utility. But I’ve also not seen many TA Ravens anymore. I saw a brave Lyn with Cancel Affinity though. That was pretty uncommon.
Cavalry doesn’t need that much investment when you’ve been playing from the start like we have. You should just have basically all you need already anyway, but well, it’s not like any particular thing is actually “necessary”.

I did some of the older chain challenges recently, and being lazy and unconcerned with HM I just brought Nino, Inigo, Fjorm and Marth. That still deals with just about anything.
I’m sitting on 634k feathers atm and not sure what to do with them. All the units I like using enough to 5* +10 and have the resources for are green and I don’t need another green.

Yeah, I got that but it’s much harder to than before, imo. More down to luck being awake for the hours necessary to max reward. Maybe it’s better in your timezone.

          • Sisyphe

I think it’s just about my least favorite thing. There are some lineups that feel impossible.

My problem with grails is basically like my one with feathers: opportunity cost. There are a lot of units for each I could merge, but team construction and usage is important too. Like, I love Naesala, but he wouldn’t fit with other team constructions (unless I went Tiki-Nowi-Fae, I guess), and it takes 2200 grails to get enough for +10, and then the feathers. I thinking of just saving them for skill fodder. The TT Camilla gives us free Hone Fliers now, for instance, and Naesala gives free Swift Sparrow.

I just find cavalry has been powercrept a bit. There are a lot of units they can’t kill now, except Reinhardt. Feels like he can kill anything still.

I should do the chain challenges, but they annoy me. I probably will once I hit the stamina pot cap, which will be soon.

I’m not sure yet. I do know I only hut a big bonus like once and still got a pretty good score. Otherwise I’ve been forgetting. But it did always seem that it was easier in my timezone. I’d argue it could be better for you now, since the bonuses don’t have to be backloaded.

          • Shenai

Which would be another mark in favor of Arvis for me, since he’s already part of a functional team. But then I’d hardly ever use him for arena, and that’s pretty much the only place you really need a 5*+10. But I’d only need another 7, so I could actually do that right now if I wanted, I have more than 1750 grails.
Skill fodder is a good point with those two skills.

I guess I just enjoy the two older Nifl siblings too much. And horses.

They annoy me too. But there are so many orbs and feathers there… And I needed something to do on the side while watching something not quite interesting enough to pay full attention to. So some chain challenges got done.

The new system doesn’t change anything as far as time zone convenience goes. The bonus multiplier still increases the closer it gets to the end and you still need to hit an hour in which your team is weaker. It’s harder to place flags because you can’t if you don’t have hours left and those you can’t recharge other than by waiting. So overall you need to be on the lookout for good opportunities more often.
I did alright last time, but I still feel that it’s much more bothersome for me than before to get a good score.

          • Sisyphe

Yeah, Arena’s the thing I guess, and like, I’m pretty content to just bounce between 18 and 19 by this point. I’d like to think the merges would help with other PvE content, but probably not.

I wanted a Hrid, but never got one. Now that cat beasts are a thing though, maybe I’ll be into Cavalry again. I love Lethe so far.

I believe the bonuses can oscillate a bit more, but it’s probably true that bonuses are bigger when you’re down. Still, you don’t need as large of a bonus because the multiplier has increased. It will be true that you’ll have to check it more, I guess.

          • Shenai

Thanks to Yune I’m probably going to 20 again this week for the first time in a long time.
Of course 5*+10 makes other things easier too on account of the extra stats, but I don’t think it’s undoable without.

Fortunately the Nifl siblings seem to like being summoned by me. Except Ylgr, I never tried.
The kitsune have cavalry range as well. Now if only they were all beast effective like in Fates…

There are a lot more factors to take into consideration so it doesn’t feel like a fix, it just feels like you need to jump through even more hoops to get anything out of it.

          • Sisyphe

Yeah, I don’t think it’s that hard. I’m just thinking the reward isn’t too great.

True, and really, there’s only one more cat anyway, Lethe’s sister Lyre, who isn’t really that important. So it looks cavalry beasts would have to be Lethe, Selkie, Kaden, and Ranulf. Infantry beasts are the wolves, tigers, taguel, and wolfskin, and then there are the armors, who I guess will be lions, Skrimir and Giffca. Beyond that, we’re pretty much done with Laguz…except for the dragons. Not not really enough for a pull team anyway. Ah well, at least the birds are a complete set, and double dancers is ridiculous.

Yeah, I wouldn’t call it a fix either. I think they were trying to break the pattern of everyone saving up until the end and also a really confusing multiplier mechanic. So a fix in that sense, I guess

          • Shenai

            Panne is cavalry too.
            Aren’t there more birds?

            Bad design.

          • Sisyphe

Really? Guess so. I can’t get my head around that. I’ve lost Lethe and Ranulf to anti-cavalry weapons during training because I wasn’t expecting the additional damage.

There are yeah, but they’re not really major characters and I’m not sure if we’ll see them in the game. There are two more hawks, two ravens, and a heron. I bet we’ll get the heron. He, Rafiel is Reyson and Leanne’s older brother and Nailah’s partner, which is probably one of the coolest romantic relationships I’ve ever seen.

          • Shenai

Oh I know about Rafiel 😀 and I agree.

  • Waka Waka

    >>>>Haar has a GBH

    >>>>>>>>still no Nergal

  • Cimikat

Kinda crying, because I want Ranulf more than anything, but I don’t have any orbs left after the Yune banner ate them all (with no luck to even show for it…). Glad at least to get the first summon tickets, hopefully I’ll have the same luck from those I got from the Fates Beast banner with free summons.

  • mrkisukes

I don’t care, there’s still a bitter aftertaste in my mouth after the FEH channel.
