This past weekend, Ryota Kawade and Kubocchan hosted the Fire Emblem Cipher Summer 2019 Livestream live over NicoNico and YouTube! Voice Actors Kaito Ishikawa (Dimitri) and Hibiku Yamamura (Rinea and Shade) also joined in guests.
Hit the “Read More” button below to take a look at the new cards! We also have some art and news for S19 and S20, as well as the next livestream.
Series 18 – Three Houses Cards
The biggest batch of cards revealed during the live stream belongs to Three Houses, as expected. First and foremost is Male Byleth, followed by the leading lords of all three houses: Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude!
Unsurprisingly, Dimitri will be getting a signed SR+ card featuring his time-skip design, matching Edelgard’s revealed last week. It’s pretty much certain that Claude will be getting one as well, though we haven’t seen it yet. We also get to see 3/2 cards for both Dimitri and Edelgard, with Claude’s likely coming with his SR reveal.
Aside from the lords, some other 3H characters also got cards during the stream. On the students’ side, we get to see two cards each for Bernadetta, Felix, and Raphael. Bernadetta’s and Raphael’s promoted cards looks to be R foils while the others are non-holo.
For non-students, we also get a glimpse of a card for Sothis and one for Manuela. Sothis’s card will also be available in the ST Deck.
Series 18 – Awakening Cards
The next batch of cards is for characters from Awakening. Female Robin is the leading character of this portion of the set, shown off first thing along with Chrom. Chrom also gets a joined-art card together with Emmeryn.
A new SR card for a female version of Grima was also revealed, along with new new cards for Gregor (including an R foil) and one card for Henry. Rounding out the blue reveals is Kiria from TMS#FE, aligned with her Mirage, Tharja.
Series 18 – The Sacred Stones Cards
The final portion of the set goes to cards for characters from The Sacred Stones. Once again, Ephraim takes the lead, shown here both as an unpromoted Lord and in his promoted SR.
FE8 hasn’t had all too many appearances in Cipher so far, and as a result, there are still many characters without cards. This set aims to rectify that, at least somewhat, and we already have reveals for four new Cipher debuts: Franz, Gilliam, Ewan, and Tethys! Following Dancer tradition, Tethys also gets an R foil.
We also get a peek at two new cards for returning characters Innes and Tana.
Series 18 Release Goodies & Promos
During the stream, Kawade also took the time to show off some of the promotional cards and goodies that will be upcoming with the set. These Female Byleth and Seliph cards are the Preview Promos that will be included with S18 booster boxes.
There will also be a release promotion, as usual, and this time around the prizes are die-cut memo pads featuring Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude! Buyers will get one pad, chosen randomly, for each booster box (or loose 18 packs) purchased.
We also got to see some upcoming promo cards. These alternate art Sothis and Byleth promos will be available at special tournaments in Japan. Sothis is from the Starter Deck tournament and the Byleths are from the Decisive Battle 2020 tournaments.
Series 19 & 20 News & Art + Prerelease Livestream Details
Towards the end of the livestream, our hosts turned towards discussing new upcoming sets. S19, which will feature Three Houses and Genealogy of the Holy War, received an official title, The Holy Fire of Sublime Heaven, and a release date of 12 December!
We also got to see some new art for the set. Check them out in the gallery here!
Furthermore, Kawade made the formal announcement for Series 20, which will be our March 2020 set. It will feature cards and characters from Radiant Dawn and Fates. As a teaser, he showed off this in-progress sketch of Micaiah.
Finally, we also get an announcement for the next Cipher livestream! The S19 Pre-Release Livestream will fall the Saturday before release, 21 September. Yusuke Kokayashi (VA for Male Byleth) and Hibiku Yamamura (VA for Rinea and Shade) will be joining in as guests.
In the meantime, we still have a few more weeks of card reveals and other Cipher news. Stay tuned!
