Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE: Ticket refunds reopening for withdrawn concert

Will Fortuna ever take the real-world stage again?

Starting September 18th, Avex will offer another chance to receive full refunds from purchased tickets to attend the Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore Premium Live concert, which unfortunately folded plans back in April in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

First announced last December alongside other news about the then-upcoming Nintendo Switch title, the music concert was to be held this past June at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Japan, and would star the game’s talented voice actors to perform its vocal themes on stage for fans (akin to 2016’s concert for the original Wii U release). Buying tickets was as simple as following procedures through the official concert site, or reserving them early via raffles included in launch copies of the Best Sound Collection, Encore‘s complete soundtrack CD.

From “Reincarnation” to “She Is…”, fans have still been able to listen to vocal themes in new ways.

Following an initial ticket refund period which ran during the month of June, Avex began selling albums of select vocal themes from the game through digital storefronts such as iTunes for fans to enjoy in lieu of the concert, available in unprecedented high resolution audio quality and previously unreleased instrumental versions. The entertainment company would then ask fans to share their experience of listening to the new tracks on the presumed day of the concert using social media hashtags.

Twitter user @taika3342 comments on the latest update, wondering if it is worth hoping for the concert to still happen despite refunds, since a reschedule would take more time to confirm than completely dropping the event.

At this time, Avex still hopes to reschedule the concert, and would offer one more chance for refunds in the future per careful consideration.

This brings us to today, as remaining ticket holders have started receiving email notifications about the new ticket refund period from September 18th to October 8th, explained by Avex that the concert was determined to not be prospective to hold in the immediate future. In the event a reschedule actually occurs, tickets for the original event will not be valid for it and must be repurchased, so it is encouraged to take advantage of this last chance for refunds through the official site.

Different plans, same foils.

Like the ill-fated Fire Emblem Expo II event earlier this year, the Encore Premium Live was a celebration for fans which fell victim to circumstances beyond the control of its organizers. Only time will tell what is to ultimately become of the concert, but some fans remain hopeful it will still come out on top one day. Future developments of this ongoing story will be posted as they arrive.
