The Fire Emblem Heroes team has shared information for the upcoming Version 5.9.0 update scheduled for 5th/6th September 2021.
New Legendary Skills
The Legendary versions of Ephraim and Hector will receive new skills to coincide with the next Legendary Remix banner.
Ephraim: Legendary Lord
A: Atk/Def Solo 4
B: Solar Brace II – Enables [Canto (2)].
Neutralizes unit’s penalties that inflict “Special cooldown charge -X” on unit during combat. Restores 10 HP to unit after combat.

This skill can only be equipped by its original unit.
Hector: Marquess of Ostia
B: Crafty Fighter 3
C: Ostia’s Pulse II – At start of turn, grants Def/Res+6 to unit and allies for one turn, and also, if any unit or ally’s Special cooldown count is at its maximum value, grants them Special cooldown count -1. All effects granted only if the number of that unit or ally’s movement type on the current team is <= 2.
This skill can only be equipped by its original unit.
Besides these two, the follow Legendary Heroes will appear in future remixes with new skills:

- Eirika: Graceful Resolve
- Tiki: Legendary Dragon
- Lucina: Glorious Archer
- Azura: Vallite Songstress
Weapon Refinery
Eight more Heroes, including the Year 3 Brave Heroes, will receive new weapon skills/refines.

Combat Manuals
Events introduced after the version update will provide Divine Codes (Ephemera 9), which can be exchanged for the following limited-time manuals:
- 5-star: Flora and Dancer Nephenee
- 4-star: Knoll, Mathilda, Spring Saleh, Norne and Sothe
Heroes Journey
Five new Memento Events will be added to the Heroes Journey mode.
Aether Raids
The Catapult (O and D) can be upgraded to Level 9.
Two more songs will be added to the Aether Resorts Concert Hall:
- “Sephiran’s Sorrow” (Radiant Dawn)
- “Combat Preparation” (Binding Blade)
Mjolnir’s Strike
Death’s Throne can be upgraded to Level 5.
Heroic Grails
These lovely ladies will be available from the Heroic Grails shop:
- Norne: Seaside Volunteer
- Arete: Requiem’s Beauty
Other
As outlined earlier, Nyx and Pirate Hinoka‘s weapon skills are currently not functioning as intended and will be fixed.
Ginnugagap
The “boosts unit’s next attack by total damage reduced (by any source, including other skills)” effect does not trigger when Nyx has a damage reduction effect disabled by a skill effect (eg. when a foe triggers Sublime Heaven).
Example: If Nyx triggers a Special skill that reduces damage like Miracle, the portion of damage reduced by Miracle will not be added to her next attack. After the fix, the damage reduced by Miracle will be added.
Mermaid’s Bow
The “calculates damage using the lower of foe’s Def or Res” effect triggers even if the “unit’s HP >= 25%” conditional is not met, when Hinoka triggers a Special that inflicts damage before combat (eg. Blazing Flame) while also equipped with a skill that activates under certain conditions during combat (eg. S/R Far Trace).
Obviously, after the fix, the “unit’s HP >= 25%” conditional must be satisfied for the effect to trigger, regardless of the situation.
iOS Players
Currently, the game supports iOS 10.0 or higher. After an update planned for December 2021, the game will require iOS 13.0 or higher.
Once this happens, players running an iOS version older than iOS 13.0 can n longer download, update or access the game.
If possible, please update your iOS before the update. Otherwise, plan accordingly. For instance, remember to back up your save by linking to a Nintendo Account so you can play it on a new device in the future.
