Fire Emblem Engage: Louis Tidbits via Twitter

This week, it seems we may have two Fire Emblem Engage Twitter posts again. (Nevermind, that didn’t happen.)

Today, we have Louis from Firene. Here’s his profile:

Louis (VA: Haruki Ishiya) is a palace knight from the Kingdom of Firene. He’s a gentle servant wearing massive armour. He always pays attention to how his friends are faring and seems happy whenever he sees them at peace.

As I predicted, Louis is from Firene (the verdant nation that Alfred and Céline come from), although his profile doesn’t mention him being a retainer (eg. of Céline). Still, he seems like a nice chap.

Next, two battle scenes:

The first map appears to be a Firenese castle/fortress during sunset. It’s the same map where Framme and Cramme are fighting. The carpets and flags are blue with flower motifs. Meanwhile, the enemies are Elusian soldiers.

Here’s a blurry look at the map before it transitions into the battle. This is near the south end of the map, similar to this screenshot. Allies on the map include Louis, the brown-haired axe guy with Alfred, Alear, Vander, Etie, Chloé and Alfred. I believe Alear and Alfred are in their Engaged forms.

The battle itself simply shows Louis taking no damage twice, emphasizing his role as a defensive tank. Louis has an Iron Lance, while his foe has an Iron Bow.

The second fight occurs in the abandoned ruins, seen in Céline’s showcase. The allies on the map include Louis, Céline and Etie. Etie has barely any HP left, haha. On this map, the player’s units have been divided in two; this screen is near the east side of the map.

All the enemy aggro lines are on Louis right now, so maybe Etie will be OK…

Louis is a Level 7 Lance Armor (Armoured type). “Lance” Armor implies there are other types of armoured knights. I believe we’ve seen enemy Axe Armors and I wouldn’t be too surprised if there were Sword Armors too. These classes last appeared in Radiant Dawn (as “Armored Lance” etc.).

For this second battle, the fight is again lop-sided, but in favour of Louis. His opponent this time is a Thief (not the class) and they both have Iron weapons. Like similar showcases, Louis triggers a critical hit, decimating his foe.

Finally, enjoy a brief conversation with Louis:

Unlike previous conversations with non-Emblem characters, this one occurs back at the base, not around the time you first meet them.

Could this be a regular conversation back at the base or part of a support conversation? It seems to go on longer than a plain old conversation, but cuts off before we can really tell.

A bit of context: Louis is a nice guy who’s hobby is people-watching. He likes to watch out for people, to make sure they’re comfortable and doing OK.
